Sailor's House West has stunning river views and is situated at beautiful Burnham Overy Staithe, perfectly positioned among the boats lining the sandy tidal creek with the sea just beyond on the horizon. What makes Sailor's House West special is the feel of the space, it’s a lovely space to share many fun family holidays.

Guests enter Sailor's House West into an entrance hall connecting to the large dining space with kitchen area and a ground floor bedroom off of it. The dining room has a fun enclosed spiral staircase that leads to the first floor living room which is flooded with light from the large windows overlooking the sandy creek.  Also on the first floor is a spacious master bedroom with a super-king bed, a further bedroom with bunk-beds and a family bathroom. 

GROUND floor:  The outside door enters into a tiled entrance hall with a cupboard for your hats and coats, this leads into a large dining space.

Dining room: A large old wooden table is the centre piece of this room, it tells tales of all of the family dinners it has shared and seats eight easily around it.  The two windows in the room flood the area with natural light and give views of the green garden outside.

Kitchen: This room has views of the path behind the house which in the spring is peppered with beautiful snow drops.  It is equipped with a fridge, a separate stand alone freezer, electric hob and oven, Bosch dishwasher and a microwave.

Bedroom 1: This room features French doors that open onto the lovely green gardens; there are two single beds, a bedside table and lamp to share and built in chest of drawers and wardrobe.

First floor: From the dining room you will find a wide and enclosed feature spiral staircase with an added rope for extra security. This wood staircase leads you to the first floor where you will find yourself in the living room.

LIVING ROOM:  This features striking views through the large windows overlooking the tidal creek.  There is a very comfortable down-filled sofa, a built in bench under the window (for front row seats of those views!), an armchair, a bucket chair and a couple other chairs in the room.  They are mainly positioned around a large coffee table to take in the views or to watch a 26 inch LG flat screen TV with attached DVD/VCR player – great for both new and classic films to entertain the family when not taking in the views or exploring the creek and surroundings.

Bedroom 2: This room features a super-king bed and direct views of the large garden below.  In the room there are two bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers and a large fitted two door wardrobe.

Bedroom 3: This has a set of two standard size single bunk-beds, direct views of the creek, a bed side table and lamp and a fitted two door wardrobe. 

Family Bathroom: This family bathroom is complete a bath, handheld shower attachment, a hand basin, W.C. and heated towel rail.

Cloakroom:  Next to the family bathroom is a separate room with only a W.C. in it, there is a hand basin in the family bathroom.

Outside: There is a large garden shared with three other holiday cottages, ideal for relaxing in with friends and family, and ample car parking.  A separate shared utility building has a washing machine and dryer for those staying in Sailor's House West and East to use. 

Flagstaff House is comprised of four beautiful holiday properties arranged around a generous lawn and parking area, within a walled garden, they are the East Wing (Captain's House East) and West Wing of the original house and the Boathouse and Cottage - clever and generous conversions of the house's former boat house.

Sailor's House West is right on the sandy creek, in the renowned coastal village or Burnham Overy Staithe, close to Burnham Market and Wells-next-the-sea, and a wonderful coastal walk away from the open white sands of Holkham Beach and of course Holkham Hall and park itself. 

Most people arriving at Flagstaff will approach Burnham Overy Staithe along the wonderful A149 North Norfolk Coast road or from Burnham Market, the renowned market town, just inland from the Cottage - once in the village guests will turn towards the creek, seeing a view over boats towards the sea, before turning left into Flagstaff through a wooden gate.  Once you arrive, Flagstaff envelopes you with its welcome, there is plenty of room to park, a lovely garden shared between the four properties and of course the creek is on your doorstep, with the walk to the wide sandy beaches at Holkham starting a few yards from your door.

The immediate surroundings of Sailor's House West include opportunities for dinghy sailing, walking, bird watching, and of course utter peace and quiet!  Only 500 feet away is a pub called The Hero Bar and Restaurant - perfect for a quick walk to food and drink! North Norfolk is renowned for its natural beauty, stunning coastal scenery and sophisticated towns and villages.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This loved family holiday home is equipped with central heating.  Appliances include a flat screen TV with FreeView channels, DVD/VCR player, WiFi access in some rooms, electric hob and oven, Bosch dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer, washing machine, dryer and a microwave.  The entrance hall, dining room and kitchen have terracotta tiled floors, the bathroom has laminate flooring, the ground floor bedroom has wood flooring, the first floor bedrooms and living area are carpeted - the living area has natural fibre carpet and the ground floor twin bedroom also has an area rug made of the same material.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.

Sorry, no pets, smoking or unaccompanied teenagers.

The interior of Flagstaff West is a little more comfortable, but it is nevertheless a special place to stay.

3. How to pay. When you have filled out your booking form you can choose to pay online by credit or debit card or send a cheque. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking. The balance and a £100 returnable good housekeeping deposit (subject to terms and conditions) are due six weeks before your holiday commences. Please note there is a 1.5% charge for credit card payments. There is no charge for debit card or cheque payments.

4. Please note that bookings made at this particular property are provisional until the owner has been notified so we kindly advise you not to pay by credit or debit card when making a provisional booking but instead click on the ‘pay by BACS’ option to postpone your payment, we will check with the owners and get back to you as soon as possible.
