This quintessentially English seaside town is full of old-world charm and plenty for visitors of all ages to enjoy with sandy bays meeting surf schools and beautifully renovated fishermen’s cottages mingling with contemporary self-catering accommodation.  Relaxed and unspoilt, our self-catering cottage iBroadstairs is a great place for a traditional coastal holiday or short break.

There’s plenty for all the family to enjoy with seven sand-filled beaches and bays where kids can discover rides at the main beach, Viking Bay, with it’s string of colourful beach huts, surf schools at Joss Bay, towering chalk stacks at Botany Bay  and many coastal walks along the cliff-top paths or around the harbour.  Inland St Peter’s village offers heritage tours and the Crampton Tower Museum gives an intriguing insight into Victorian engineering.

Broadstairs High Street offers an excellent selection of independent shops and galleries housed in historic red-brick and flint-fronted buildings with a wealth of inviting cafes, restaurants and bars and two 1950’s ice-cream parlours provide flavourful scoops of nostalgia.  For Dickens enthusiasts there’s a week-long festival held in June, filling the town with costumed characters, talks, plays and beach outings and in August guests can enjoy the Broadstairs Folk Week with music sessions throughout town.  For a more relaxed afternoon sit back and enjoy a free afternoon concert at the bandstand.

Visitors should also keep an eye out for the Water Gala, held in August – great for ‘little guests’ particularly with sandcastle-building, teddy bears picnics and fireworks and, for food lovers, visit in October for the three day Food Festival.
