Ancient walls, originally built by the Romans, encircle the medieval centre with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses as well as excellent places to eat and great range of high street and independent shops.
Whitstable, a charming seaside town, is just 25 minutes drive away and a great place to visit.
Guests are entitled to free access to the Cathedral which is only a short walk from 40A; founded 597 A.D., it is the headquarters of the Church of England and Anglican Communion, incorporating Gothic and Romanesque elements in its exquisite stone carvings and stained-glass windows and St. Augustine’s Abbey, one of the country’s most notable historic sites.
The stairs here are typical of a period cottage, quite steep and narrow with no hand rail – so not ideal for guests with a mobility issue.
If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking which stipulate that it must not go upstairs or on the furniture.

This holiday cottage is situated next to the pavement so you can hear people chatting in the street, however the courtyard garden and the master bedroom are at the back so relatively quiet.
