As the warmer days give way to misty mornings and the cooler climes of autumn, Norfolk is a great place to pull on your woollies and explore the charms of its countryside and coastline.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And while an autumn holiday in Norfolk might seem a long way off, now is a great time to book, allowing you to be one step ahead of the crowd and to make the most of the stylish holiday homes on offer from Best Escapes.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Discover Norfolk this Autumn<\/h2>\n

Wherever you\u2019re staying while you\u2019re with us in Norfolk, autumn is a fine time to come. You\u2019ll find the woodlands looking wonderful as the leaves turn from green, through red and golden, the hedgerows full of plump purple fruit and the coastline awash with colour.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, without the crowds of summer, you may find its just you and the seals enjoying the beach. It\u2019s a great time to bring your dog, too, as many beaches are open to dogs from 1st October.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been keeping a keen eye on the events and attractions you might find interesting during autumn \u2013 and especially for half term. There\u2019s plenty to choose from if you\u2019re coming with family and friends or in a smaller group.<\/p>\n

Walking with wildlife<\/h2>\n

\"Seal<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re into plant life, fossils, animals or birds, Norfolk has something to offer you.<\/p>\n

You can get close to nature with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and, on 22nd October, you\u2019ll find plenty to do in Foxley Woods \u2013 Norfolk\u2019s largest ancient woodland. You could search for miraculous minibeasts or take a look at the tremendous trees that can be found here.<\/p>\n

Norfolk is a great place to witness thousands of birds as they make their way south from the Arctic. Visit Titchwell and Cley to look out for pink-footed geese from Iceland and Greenland, or head to Welney Wetland Centre for ducks arriving for the winter and the wild swans feeding at sunset. Autumn is also the perfect time of year to see a deer rut. Head to Holkham Hall on the North Norfolk coast and you may see the stags in action, using their antlers to fight their rivals Alternatively, head to the Gunton Arms, near Cromer, and you could see the deer through the windows.<\/p>\n

Wherever you go, complete your walk with a drink, a warm meal and an even warmer welcome in one of the county\u2019s country pubs \u2013 head for one with a crackling open fire for a truly seasonal experience.<\/p>\n

Family fun<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s much to do with the family in Norfolk during the autumn months too and this is a great time to head to many of our theme parks and attractions.<\/p>\n

BeWILDerwood offers magical family fun for the majority of the year, but autumn heralds the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade \u2013 this year on from Saturday 13th October until Wednesday 31st October.<\/p>\n

Your family will have fun exploring the magical woodland, spotting the spooky decorations and meeting the beastly BeWILDerbats. Make sure you stay until dusk, too, and see the woods aglow in a magical light extravaganza.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, if you prefer your beasties a little bigger, Dinosaur Adventure is Norfolk\u2019s Dinosaur award-winning family attraction offering a unique family day out.<\/p>\n

The 85-acre park offers a huge selection of activities, including animatronic dinosaurs and a deer safari. With Halloween Days and spooky fun promised from 18th October through until 28th October, you\u2019ll be able to take part in fabulous fancy dress and the frightful Face your Phobia in the Secret Animal Garden.<\/p>\n
