“We really enjoyed our stay at Waterfall Cottage.”

The large kitchen was great for preparing family meals. It was also nice to have a number of different reception spaces allowing people to have separate time as well. The location was great with good access to local pubs and not too far from larger shops. We really appreciated the added decorations for Christmas with a tree and lights around the house.

“Had huge difficulty in getting in as we couldnt locate the key safe and had no mobile signal.”

Found it eventually but there needs to be accurate information as it is far from obvious.& would be impossible in the dark. Great kitchen which was a lovely surprise as 2 of our party are keen cooks. Fabulous to have so much space (9 of us)- We used windfalls but would have appreciated info as to whether we were free to pick whatever was ripe. We didnt but were tempted - or whether garden produce was strictly off limits. Kitchen scales would have been useful. And a bigger coffee maker. Several light bulbs gone- 4 in kitchen. Maybe get someone to check throughout and replace whats needed. One or two of the window blinds need attention. Had to buy kindling before we could get the woodburner going- a small starter supply would be helpful. All in all though- lovely place and will recommend it to any group of similar size. Twin beds somewhere would be useful rather than all doubles.

“The property was fabulous- perfect for a family Christmas with enough space for everyone to get together to open presents by a lovely wood fire and Christmas tree, yet enough rooms so that people could have some quiet time alone as well.”

The kitchen was very well equipped (although the toaster was a bit ropey- so we used the grill plate on the cooker instead). The Aga was a revelation for slow cooking the gammon for Christmas eve. The attention to detail from the hosts was superb- everything that we needed was there. There was even birdfeed in the hangers outside so we could watch the blue tits and chaffinches getting their breakfast as we had ours.

“The facilities at Waterfall Cottage exceeded our expectations.”

It is usually the case in rental properties that the kitchen has a limited stock of crockery etc. This was definitely not the case and it was a delight to know that we had everything we could wish for. We loved the property and surroundings so much we have re-booked already.

“Beautiful house.”

More amazing in reality than photos suggested. Felt very special. The owner answered some questions we had before our trip. And allowed us to leave an hour later to give us some wiggle room on the final morning - getting eight women through the three showers!

“House was quirky and amazing but layout of bedrooms was not ideal for a big family and a very pregnant lady.”

Equipment supplied was great although would have liked sun loungers as weather was gorgeous and chairs got a bit uncomfortable . Wonderful to light fires inside and out and garden was beautiful . Hope to return

A traditional, historical village set in the heart of Norfolk in East Anglia. Swanton Morley is rich with history, it was home to the ancestors of the 16th U.S President Abraham Lincoln, one of which built the building which now stands as the Angel pub, who is now buried in Norfolk. The beautiful village was also heavily involved in the Second World War, being the place where the first combined bombing raid was launched between Britain and America in 1942. In 2010, Swanton Morley was voted the Calor Eastern England Village of the Year and the Norfolk Community of the Year.
