“This cottage was absolutely perfect for 2 adults and our dog.”

The directions were easy to follow and the cottage was in a perfect location for us - close to the beach and the centre of Cromer. The cottage was very well equipped and there were loads of resources and information available to us. The 'welcome gift' was a lovely touch

“The cottage was freezing when we arrived and there were no instructions on how to get the downstairs heater on.”

There was so much furniture in the very small living room that there was no way we could have lit the wood burner without it being a fire hazard and the oversized table took up all the space. There was no space to hang coats other than just behind the sofa which was totally impractical. The bathroom was absolutely tiny and was more like a slim corridor with no storage for toiletries etc and it was freezing. It would be impossible for 4 people to inhabit the space. The only comfortable space was in the bedrooms upstairs.

“We were 2 people in this cottage which could actually sleep 4.”

Bedrooms were fine but the downstairs bathroom and the kitchen were tiny-we don't really see how 4 people could use the facilities. In our opinion it would be better to convert the one bedroom into an upstairs bathroom which avoids the problem of descending stairs during the night. Then remove the stud partition wall between kitchen and bathroom to restore the kitchen to what looked like its' original size.

“Very centrally located so ideal to use as a base.”

Near to both the train and bus stations as well as the beach. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops. It was very crowded this time of year but I guess that is to be expected. The living room appeared more cluttered than in the photos. The sofa and rug are stained and need cleaning. I didn't feel comfortable using the sofa for that reason. There was a useful information pack which was comprehensive for both the cottage and exploring Norfolk. A bottle of wine, biscuits and chocolates were a nice welcome too. The ground floor and upstairs appeared to have been decorated by different people. The downstairs appeared to be a mixture of second hand furniture with areas painted different colours which, in my opinion, didn't make it comfortable to lounge in. The upstairs seemed better decorated. The bathroom is extremely small. Some would definitely find it difficult to use the facilities. The shower wasn't at all powerful and we found using the bathroom a bit of an arduous task. There's nowhere to hang wet towells and the bath mat apart from the one small rail for a hand towell. Although we were able to put the clothes airer upstairs to dry them but found it annoying that we had to remember to bring them down each time. I hadn't realised that the bathroom was downstairs so that was my error. It wasn't convenient having to go down at night, especially a the floor boards creaked so it would be difficult to sleep through that. The double bed was comfortable but there was little room each side of it. That made it difficult to get in and out. On Friday and Saturday night there was music later into the evening from the pub a few doors down which made it difficult to get to sleep. I guess if you come out if season it may not be an issue though if you avoid the weekend. There is a cottage next door that over looks this one so we had to keep the blinds down. The kitchen was well stocked and had no issues there. Personally, having 4 adults in there would make it difficult. It's small and there is no where to hang clothes. 3 coat hangers were there and could be hang on the back of the second bedroom. The wardrobes were locked for some reason. You would be probably be ok with 2 small children in the second room but with our cases and the clothes airer, there's no to much floor space for much more luggage. Some of the doorways are low so not ideal for tall people. There are two amusement arcades on each side of the cottage and the front door opens up outside the back of the crab shack. That whole area could do with tidying up.

“Just want to thank you for our lovely little break at such short notice, literally booked the day before and also only for 2 nights, my husband works away so couldn’t do longer.”

Most places you have to book for at least 3. Absolutely loved the cottage! The welcome gift was just so lovely also! ❤️ It’s little things like this that really don’t go unnoticed! The location was just perfect!! Right in the town. A little noisy at night but didn’t keep us awake where other town locations have! The cottage has everything you would have at home. The beds were so comfy, the bedding was top quality! Games, books, CD player & a tv with Netflix. Free wifi. Just shocked at some of the reviews! I really don’t understand how anyone could complain!! It was just perfect! Only 1 criticism, the iron! Definitely need a new one, it pulled a few threads on my new silk skirt & ruined it but everything else was just perfect! Thanks so much and we will definitely be back

“The property was comfortable and nicely secluded.”

I am not sure why no pictures of the outside of the property were included. Well, I am sure why not actually. The description of the property does not include the crab store food processing area. A box of discarded crab legs was in plain view to my dog, who thought they would be an ideal treat. The alleyway was a little scruffy.

“Bathroom inadequate.”

As we are pensioners a bathroom is required close to bedroom. Stairs require more substantial hand rails. Enjoyed the outside space, sun all afternoon. I found hire of cottage expensive. The property would suit a young family who would enjoy the internet and games.

“The blinds were broken in the bedrooms, I wasn't happy touching them so they stayed closed.”

The freezer door did not çlose, it was open all the time. No extra blankets. Nowhere to hang clothes, no wardrobes. The location was excellent. The smell was sometimes very strong. Having the garden area was lovely. Very clean and tidy. No frills, no extra touches. The music was very loud from the amusement, which were close.

Cromer is a good base to explore. The cottage is super close to the sea. Would definitely stay here again. Only thing to say is it is cold downstairs so bring your dressing gown and some fuzzy socks!

However the downstairs of the property was cold, without the use if the logburner. Although we do appreciate that our visit was in February, and the weather was very cold out. We would definitely love to visit again.

It was dirty and could do with a deep clean. The cottage was cold even with the heaters on and the log burner going due to the drafts through the front door and windows.

“A very clean and well-equipped cottage in a good central location, handy to shops, cafes and a minute's walk to the beach.”

Our dog loved to start and end each day with a play on the beach with his new found pals. There's no off-street parking at the cottage but free all day parking is easy to find within a few mins walk. The dining area could be a bit small for 4 adults as you would expect with this type of cottage, however, we had many meals in the lovely sunny courtyard outside so weren't really bothered. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

“A beautiful gem in the middle of Cromer.”

Loved the place, clean, welcoming and close to everything you need including the beach, pier, also very close to the chippy but be prepared to queue. Would love to come back in the future, enjoyed relaxing in the garden which was very peaceful and quiet. House had everything we needed and was a lovely home from home.

However two issues:- The tv system did not work but more importantly no response from the support number given despite two calls. Outside the condition of the property was poor with weeds growing along the front of the property spoiling the appearance . Could put some people off!

The cottage reflects that beautifully. its in a great central location. It was great for 2 of us, would take 4 but no more in the small space. The shower was a bit cold and the outside space needs an upgrade. It was cute though.

Do you inspect the cottages you let out this one there is a wood burner under the stairs the only way out from the bedroom there is no where to hang up clothes all cupboards locked the cottage has elec towel rail which was just warm the cottage was cold and the elec shower has not got a rcd trip which there should have and a single door from the toilet to the kitchen the only thing the cottage had going for it was the location this cottage needs up grading

It was disappointing to read that the cottage did not suit your needs, it is a traditional fisherman’s cottage and this does bring with it constraints as well as charms. It has been renovated tastefully over the years, including during the pandemic, and has been a delightful holiday home for family and friends over many years. It is a new shower that has been installed by a qualified electrician and has an RCBO which includes an RCB trip.The towel rail is also in full working order. “Fishermans Cottage is in a quiet tucked away spot with perfect access to all that Cromer offers.”

It felt like stepping into Cromers fishing history and as a woman alone I felt very safe and comfortable. The cottage has a wonderful little sun-trap yard that is part of a square of four little yards belong to neighbouring cottages. Very light and airy master bedroom with large window overlooking the yards which I loved. Excellent support from caretaker and owner if there are issues. Four adults could struggle with seating comfort in the sitting room if you needed to be indoors a lot . It is actually much smaller than the pictures show but ok . I’d tweak a few things to make more space ...remove the low square table as it’s not needed, add a smaller dining table, remove bench and revolving chair and add another easy chair? There’s a fab little wood burner. Shower room is very small and tight indeed, but the shower is good. Kitchen well stocked. I loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to go again although I’d have to leave my 6’ 6” husband at home!
