“This cottage is even better than the photos suggest.”
We’ve stayed in over 20 different self-catering places and this is right up there amongst the very best. It’s superbly refurbished, making it a dream to stay in. Every tiny detail has been thought about. Lovely comfortable settees, easy to use and modern kitchen equipment, simple to use shower and heating system, very comfortable bed and walk-in wardrobe. There’s also parking just outside.
Downstairs is open plan with stylish quarry tile flooring and neat touches of decor, while upstairs there's smart wood-style flooring and colourful, easy-to-operate blinds. All-in-all the cottage made the holiday so relaxing and enjoyable.
It’s well located, too. The bus stop and convenience store are only a short walk away and if you’ve got the energy you can walk to Sandringham.
We had a lovely week here, helped by the weather and the many delights that North Norfolk has on offer. Our week took us by bus to Wells-next-the-sea, a day out at Sandringham, a beach day at Brancaster and visits to Holt, Cley and Blakeney.
The only tiny detail where it falls short perhaps is on authoritative local guide books and visitors experiences and hints on the best places to eat and drink and shop.
The places that rocked our boat most were: the Rose & Crown pub and Beach Fish shop in Snettisham, Petals tea shop nearby, and our days at Sandringham, Brancaster beach and Wells (its’ beach, beach cafe and Staithe shopping street). The best coffee we had was at Artemis in Cley and Black Apollo, Holt - both were a real wow.
And what was most disappointing? Leaving Meggie’s Cottage - we had such a terrific holiday.
