The conversion of the old Cart Shed has been done very tastefully, it is well-decorated, comfortably furnished and is practical in its layout, with ample storage facilities. [Whilst it’s situated in a very rural area the adjacent road was sometimes used by very fast, noisy drivers!] On arrival the accommodation was very warm and clean, but the out-of-date milk supplied did rather detract from the welcome! The number of kitchen devices, utensils and equipment was astounding, though the provision of cups/mugs was very minimal for a full days-worth of drinks. When booking we thought the ‘study’ was a rather strange addition, but in fact the space proved very useful and the wi-fi was superb. The wild garden is a lovely outdoor space, and although it wasn’t the weather for being outside, the aspect from the cottage windows was lovely with entertaining wildlife. The UFH and HW was extremely efficient, providing ample hot water and very warm floors from an almost silent boiler. Unfortunately a previous guest had tampered with settings which meant that thermostat programmes didn’t provide heat at the right times of day/night. Also one night we were kept awake for hours by the rattling extractor fan but overall we had a very relaxing and restful stay.

Regarding the heating settings, clearer instructions will be left requesting guests to only make temporary temperature changes, and alternative thermostats will be sourced.
