“The property was clean and well kept but is kitted out very basically and could be improved a lot by adding a few simple touches such as providing hand soap, more kitchen utensils, kitchen foil, bin bags and other basics that you wouldn't expect to bring to a holiday house but you would expect to be available when you are there.”

Cottage 5b had everything provided that you could need plus extra helpful things like a washing machine, dryer and freezer for all 4 cottages to use. When we had a problem the owners went above and beyond to help us. We will certainly return to The Hideaway

“We had a lovely stay at Hideaways.”

The location was great. Very close to lots of arcades and the fairground and beach. Tescos was a short walk away so very handy for buying in supplies. There is a nice pub a short distance away too, opposite Tescos which did good pub grub. The centre is a short walk away too and we had a lovely meal at Chives one evening. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy. Kitchen was pretty well equipped. The only thing that was missing which would have been handy was some baking trays but that's obviously not the end of the world. Considering the proximity to arcades, etc. the cottage was quiet and relaxing. All in all we had a really lovely stay and would recommend it to others and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Unfortunately the weather was grim and the internet was not good which is a general problem in Hunstanton. The shared laundry room is a great asset especially the books available to read. We still enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back hopefully in better weather.

Although it's in a busy tourist location, it is tucked away in a quiet spot, so it is quite private. It is very convenient for shops, the beach, eating places and sight seeing on the North Norfolk coast. The cliffs at Hunstanton are amazing and there are many other beaches within a short drive, as well as lots of other places to visit.

The weather was poor, so it was important to us that we had a really comfortable place to come back to. One of our party has sight and mobility problems and it was perfect for her. Just two small things: there was nowhere in the shower to put soap, shampoo etc. and the potato peeler was difficult to use!

The pictures do not do this property justice. Feels like your in an old converted barn. It had all we needed to feel comfortable and was well equipped with the things we needed. You are close to the seafront and the walks along the coast are just breathtaking, we were lucky with the weather so felt like we were abroad. It is close to all the amenities. If you are looking for a home away from home or just a base while your out exploring this beautiful part of the country then you can not go wrong with the hideaway. We will definitely book again if we are back in the area.

We visited Oxburgh Hall and had a nice walk and saw the stunning daffodils. Also, Gooderstone Water Gardens where we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stroll. A memorable stay, thank you.

It was very quiet in March, but I am sure is extremely busy in the summer. Absolutely stunned that there are no opportunity for recycling at Hideaways - we ended up taking our recycling home! The cottage was very comfortable and good value for money - the bed was a bit soft for my liking, but that is a personal preference. Very limited TV channels , and tuned to Look North , so you cannot get local weather.

Also a wardrobe in the double bedroom would be better than a second desk. As the one on the lounge is more than adequate. An information booklet with emergency telephone numbers and information on the area would be good.

“Fabulous location.”

Easy reach of all amenities, five minute walk to seafront, pub/restaurant, supermarket and ten minute level walk to town/shops. The fairground was literally on the doorstep but we were never bothered with any noise whatsoever. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable and well laid out with a separate area with a shared washing machine and chest freezer. The setting is excellent, central but secluded for privacy. The outdoor seating area is great with a suntrap setting. This was a great base for exploring the wee gems of Norfolk and the local area. The owners left us some helpful tips on local eating places and we were never disappointed. The seafront promenade was excellent for walking to town and was clean as a whistle. The local council were out every morning sanitising all benches and hand-railings due to the current Covid-19 situation and gave us great peace of mind in these challenging times, well done Hunstanton Council. This was a great location for a short or extended break and we will certainly recommend it and we would not hesitate to return here. We will certainly recommend Sykes to our friends and family as their team were on the ball from start to finish with regular updates and advice for our holiday, well done, 10 out of 10.

A Tesco supermarket is a 5 minute walk away as are bus stops for the excellent Coastliner service. The cottage has most things you'll need for a short stay but 'frequent flyers' with Sykes will realise that this is basic accommodation and the welcome pack, for example, is limited to just a few typed sheets of information. Simple additions like hooks behind doors, a toilet roll holder, blackout blinds for the bedroom windows, appliance instructions etc could improve the overall experience.

Close to shops, places to eat, Tesco supermarket and beach. There are two arcade places near by but we never heard any noise/music from them in our cottage, there is also the large funfair nearer in to Hunstanton but this was only open during the day at the weekend and again we did not hear any noise from it but this could be different during the summer months. All in all we were very happy with our stay in this cottage and will most likely return here next year.

“This was a lovely clean, comfortable and spacious holiday home.”

Short walk to Tescos and a short drive to Sainsburys. About half a mile to Hunstanton, with plenty of shops and a lovely fish and chip shop just round the corner. We found that the double bed was comfortable but because there was a slate floor throughout the bed would start rolling down the bedroom because the head board was connected to the wall not the bed, and the bed had castors. Rugs would be nice at side of bed as floor was cold when getting out of bed. A shower mat and soap dish would have been nice in the bathroom. The shower worked really well and the heating was also very good. I would have scored this place 10 if it was not for these few things.

“Everything about the accommodation was absolutely fantastic!”

We could not have wanted anything more. It was situated very close to the beach and all of the amenities with Tesco being just across the road and Sainsbury's being only a short walk away. Considering how close it was to everything it was remarkably peaceful, especially in the shared courtyard where we spent most of our nights having a peaceful and relaxing drink as well as dining outside a few nights during our holiday. The owners were extremely helpful and very friendly and we found that nothing was ever too much for them. The one thing that we found a lovely touch was the welcome pack that we had when entering the accommodation which contained lots of lovely information about the local area as well as recommending restaurants and cafes. Also, there were a wide range of leaflets about attractions that were relatively local which was a very nice touch. Overall, our holiday was amazing and we would definitely recommend the accommodation to anyone who wants to explore this lovely area or simply wants a relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We loved the high ceilings with oak beams. The cottage is 5 to 10 minutes to beach depending on your walking pace, the pub around the corner has a good selection of food and offers 2 for 1 meals. Tesco is nearby to stock up your kitchen. The cottage was an ideal base for our daily travels. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would like to thank the owners for being welcoming and friendly.

HUNSTANTON

King's Lynn 16.5 miles.

The award-winning coastal town of Hunstanton, locally known as Sunny Hunny, is located on the Western side of the East Norfolk Coastline, renowned for its beautiful sunsets over the sea. Hunstanton is a great family-friendly holiday destination. The seafront with promenade offers rock and candyfloss stalls, funfair rides, a sealife sanctuary, bowls, golfing, a leisure centre, pitch-and-putt, Esplanade gardens, theatre, clean sandy beaches, donkey rides and sea tours in an amphibious craft. On Sunday afternoons a band often plays in the bandstand on the green overlooking the beach, serenading sunbathers and day-trippers, while throughout the year additional events are held within the town. Walking along the beach towards Old Hunstanton you find the richly-coloured cliff faces with intriguing rock pools. The beach at Old Hunstanton is popular with sunbathers, and also with wind and kite surfers. Within a 20-mile radius there is a large number of places of interest including NT properties, market towns and flint villages, offering something for all family members.
