We turned around and went home on the first day. The house was grubby, shabby, the ‘parking space’ was only big enough for a motorbike, the beds were small and the bedding from Lidi, and the garden was overgrown and had no where to sit.
We told Sykes and they sent an email designed for the owners to me, which meant the owners did not know we had left. I told Sykes that I was surprised they have a house like this on their books. They have since said we can’t have a refund because we didn’t tell the owners and give them a chance to address our concerns but it’s hard to see how they could have decorated, got new furniture, made a driveway and tamed the garden whilst we were there.
I was actually very shocked to read your review and find it very insulting! It is true to say we get many top score 10/10 reviews which make your remarks ludicrous.
No way is the house grubby or shabby. We pay professional cleaners over £100 per week to make sure everything is on the top line. Regarding your comments about the parking space, we would have you know the cleaners use a BMW 4x4, not exactly by any means a small car and they manage to park in the drive. Should you have had an issue with the parking, you could have contacted us and we would have resolved the issue with a parking space elsewhere but close to the house for you if you could not have parked on the road opposite which is free of charge.
The beds are normal size as per the listing on Sykes (two doubles and bunk beds) and the bedding is not from Lidl. The garden is beautiful and very private and no way is it overgrown. Really can’t understand why you didn’t contact us despite having telephone numbers, but each to their own. We have many repeat guests and we welcome them with open arms. You have been the only one with this opinion. Property Owner
