“We had a lovely two week break at Heron Cottage.”

Ideally situated for exploring the East Norfolk Coast & The Broads. We found the cottage perfectly comfortable, clean and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the main road.

The property

In the village of Sutton, Heron Cottage is located in the centre of a row of six cottages. It has a patio on the ground floor and a balcony off the lounge on the first floor. This abode, which has a view of a marina and unspoiled marshland, is only 5 miles from the beautiful beaches at Sea Palling, Wroxham, Blickling, and Felbrigg Halls. This contemporary lodging is a great place to unwind and relax all year long, whether you're planning a sentimental trip for two or a family vacation. Should you like to take a stroll outside into the sunshine, the lounge is furnished with two sofas and receives natural light from the French doors that go out to the delightful balcony area. Spend more time with your loved ones in the kitchen/diner, which was expertly designed and has natural light from an overhead Velux window. Before cuddling up in one of the two lovely bedrooms, gather around the table with your loved ones to talk about the day's activities. The twin room has a traditional aesthetic and a neutral finish, while the double room is tastefully decorated and has access to the patio for a pleasant morning. The layout is complemented by a shower room with a spacious shower cubicle and a contemporary suite, ideal for getting ready before a busy afternoon. The Sutton Staithe Hotel, a neighbourhood bar, is situated next to the River Ant in the village of Sutton, which borders the Norfolk Broads and flows downstream to Barton Broad, How Hill, and Ludham Bridge. Sutton Mill, a beautifully preserved 18th-century windmill with an astounding 9 stories of height, is located just outside the hamlet. A little further out is Norwich, a beautiful example of how modern and historic can coexist. Heron Cottage is in an ideal location for exploring all that Norfolk has to offer.

About the location

SUTTON

Wroxham 9 miles; Norwich 16 miles.

Sutton is a picturesque village at the eastern end of Sutton Broad, just south of the market town of Stalham, on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. The local pub is the Sutton Saithe Hotel, set beside the River Ant, which flows downstream to Barton Broad, How Hill and Ludham Bridge, through some of the most beautiful Norfolk Broads scenery, and there is a garden centre and a pottery in the village. At nearby Stalham is the popular Museum of the Broads. Just outside the village is Sutton Mill, a restored 18th-century windmill which rises to a remarkable 9 stories in height. Norwich lies further afield, a wonderful fusion of the modern and historic, one complementing the other. Like any great city its centre is easy to walk around and boasts a river at its heart.

Note: Unfenced access to riverside and marina. Note: Busy road nearby.
