“Before arrival I was telephoned, received a short introduction and was offered more information if I tendered my email address to facilitate the sending of cottage and locality information which was most kind and helpful.”
On arrival after a long journey, and with only being able to give a vague indication of arrival time we were greeted personally and shown around.....Not the usual "Find a key in a box and here is the security code"!
We were shown around the cottage, its facilities and equipment, some basic foodstuffs [milk, butter, sausages, bacon, cereals, bread, jams] which were supplied to us lest we arrive outside of shop opening times, and two bottles of wine! Again we were told the location of local restaurants, pubs, and shops. This personal touch is so rare nowadays and most welcome.
The cottage was immaculate, clean and everything worked....more rare than one would imagine!
On departure day we again received the owner's cheery smile without any pressure as to time of departure. I was just turning the dishwasher on and hoovering but I was told that was not necessary!
I offer holiday accommodation myself so I know the importance of per arrival information and meeting and greeting so I was cheered that some others shared my own attention to detail!
I would have no hesitation in returning for another visit, and in recommending this cottage to friends.
