‘Year of the Coast’ Photo of the Month Competition 2023

We are very excited to launch the 2023 Best Escapes and Best of Suffolk ‘Year of the Coast’ photo of the month competition!

Year of the Coast 2023

The English coastline is one of the most exciting in the world; more than 185 million years old, and one of the most varied – rich in maritime port cities, smuggling villages, family resorts, nature and unique sea life.

Year of the Coast 2023 marks the creation of the new England Coast Path and includes a year-long programme of events occurring around the whole of England’s coastline, from major festivals to local food markets, arts trails and water sports.

Best Escapes

For our first year ever, we will be partnering with our sister brand Best of Suffolk for an exciting photo of the month competition. That means we can now accept entries of locations on the Suffolk or Norfolk coast.

We can’t wait to see what you, our wonderful guests, followers and friends, have to showcase from your travels in Suffolk and Norfolk. Don’t forget, the photos you share with us can be from any visit to the area from any year, so don’t be afraid to take a look through your camera roll and share photos of good times had by all.

Entering our monthly competition couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is share with us a photo which is in line with the monthly category, and send it through to marketing@bestofsuffolk.co.uk with some key details; your name, address, date of birth, contact details and the location of where the photo was taken.

The winners

Each month a judging panel will choose the winner for that months theme, and a bottle of champagne and a Sykes Cottages Voucher will be emailed to the winner! This can be used on any brand in the Sykes cottages family, giving you as much choice as possible for your winning vouchers. Plus, we will, of course, be showcasing all winning images in our 2024 Year of the Coast Best of Suffolk and Best Escapes calendar, along with being showcased on Social Media platforms.

Monthly winners will be sent a bottle of Champagne and a Sykes Cottages voucher totaling £25 to be used off your next booking. There can only be one monthly winner, meaning we’ll be collating all the photos together.

The overall winner, will be decided at the end of the year and will receive a fitting prize.

There are of course some terms and conditions which can be seen below, please ensure you familiarise yourself with these.

Our judging panel have the pleasure of choosing our 2022 winners, and they can’t wait to see what photos they will be judging in 2023.

Terms and conditions
The Best of Suffolk photo competition runs from 1st December 2022 until Thursday 30th November 2023. By submitting your entry, you agree to the terms set out below. All entrants must be over 18 years of age, and proof of age may be required ahead of any prizes being distributed. All photos must be submitted in a high res format and sent to marketing@bestofsuffolk.co.uk. Photos entered must sit in line with the monthly categories listed above. Entries submitted via social media will need to be followed up with the high res image being emailed in. If submitting an image including people you must have their permission, and if anyone is under the age of 18, you must have the consent of their guardian. By submitting your entry, you are giving Best of Suffolk and Best Escapes permission to use your images for sales and marketing purposes. This will include, but will not be limited to, use on social media, websites, printed materials such as leaflets and used in the press. Where possible, Best of Suffolk and Best Escapes will credit the photographer. When entering the competition, you must provide your full name, address, a contact telephone number, date of birth, a high res image and a description of where the picture was taken. You must only submit original photos taken by yourself; you cannot submit on behalf of someone else. Best of Suffolk and Best Escapes will judge all entries, and there will be one monthly winner announced by email, and one overall winner.. There must be at least 5 entries per month for the competition to run. An entrant can enter as many categories as they like. However, they can only win once. The monthly winner will receive a bottle of Champagne and a £25 Sykes Cottages voucher. The overall winner will receive a fitting prize. Please note, the £25 voucher can only be used for new bookings. If you have an existing booking, this voucher cannot be accepted. Best of Suffolk’s decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into. At the end of the competition, all winning photos, 12 in total, will be placed within our 2024 Best of Suffolk and Best Escapes calendar – by entering, you are permitting your photo to be used. Best of Suffolk reserve the right to amend or withdraw this competition at any point without prior notice. E&OE.
