What guests are saying

We have been to Blakeney alot over the years and this is the 1st time we have used Sykes for accommodation in Bkakeney.

To cut to the chase. We were disappointed with this cottage as there were several things that let the venue down. The lock on the front door was troublesome on arriving and it took us 20 minutes to get into the property and after a day of struggling to get in and out we eventually sussed out its temperament. Needs addressing for safety reasons. Poor reception of the TV. With an elderly person and as such we didn't go out in the evenings, a working TV was a necessity for her. We contacted the owner after a day or so who sent their caretaker around to tweak things. He eventually stated that he feels the property requires a new arial and would inform the owner. It never really improved. BBC was Ok. I T V was pixilated. The rest was displayed as no signal. Netflix seemed to work ok. The general cleanliness and maintenance of the property was lacking in areas with poor decor to the kitchen, with torn wallpaper and a feeling of dampness in areas on the kitchen walls when it rained. We contacted the owner about the kitchen area as we both heard a loud noise in that area whilst it was raining. I even asked whether the house had shifted!!! Silly but true! There were Cobwebs and spiders in all rooms. We know it's an old building but it could be a lovely property if attention and maintenance was paid to it. Its a very tired place. We had a good break away but would not stay in this property again.

Our original cottage ,pebble cottage, was cancelled two days before our arrival by the owner due to maitainance issues.

We were offered another cottage opposite which we excepted, we were somewhat disappointed in the overall cleanliness of property and general maitainance, living room window unable to open, broken and sharp tap handle in bathroom, overground weeds at approach to back door, cobwebs above front door in living room. Also we were only a party of two, this property slept seven with just one bathroom, three beds up in attic with access by steep ladder, surely this does not meet health and safety regulations, generally the property looked very tired. This is the first time we have used Sykes, your communication excellent but we disappointed with property.
