Cosy Cottage

The cottage was exactly as the name suggests very cosy.

The area Bawdeswell was a lovely quite village with minimal local amenities but only 10ninutes up the road was a very good pub that served excellent meals.We also visited a farm shop that had absolutely everything.

It was a real pleasure to be there; it is very cozy and lovingly maintained.

We loved it.

Cosy Cottage is exactly how I would describe it.

The cottage has everything you could want, even a fan in the bedroom to cope with the very hot weather. The welcome pack was a lovely touch too. Our dog Betsy loved the garden as did we ourselves whilst enjoying a glass of wine in the evenings. Bawdeswell is a lovely, friendly village with a handy shop. Thank you Neil for your hospitality

This is a lovely little cottage with everything you need is an ideal base for visiting surrounding areas.

This is the second time we have visited with our grandson who is now 8 and he absolutely loves it.

We enjoyed exploring the delights of the Norfolk countryside and coast and it was good to return to Cosy Cottage as home from home.

Warmest, cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in, the open fire really confirmed the ‘cosy’ status.

Excellent position for exploring the nearby sights and attractions, with the added bonus of an extremely well stocked local shop on your doorstep. Only wish the weather had been brighter so us and Teddy the dog could have enjoyed the pretty little garden more. Highly recommend this cottage.

Thanks so much for the cookies, apple juice, coffee and tea and milk - really nice touch. Very clean throughout. The cottage is cosy! Plenty of heaters, hot water, comfy blankets and the rooms are made up to suit the name - really nice and cosy rooms! Being out with the family most day it was really nice to return to a great little cottage in a beautiful setting - Bawdeswell (or Balders Well should I say!) . Great stay, thanks so much.

We had a fabulous week staying at Cosy Cottage it was perfect in every way.

The cottage was clean and toasty warm and has everything that you need for your holiday. It was ideally placed for us to catch up with our son and old friends who all lived nearby.

This was a fantastic cottage, there was nothing that the owners had not considered, they had even provided tooth picks!

It really was a great venue. There was so much consideration given to this by the owners to cater for every occasion. A wonderful break away in fantastic comfort. The only down side and this is not about the accommodation is the parking in Norwich, we really wanted to see Norwich castle and go there to shop, however it was all pay by phone and being in our 80's we really struggled with this and so ended up driving there only to drive back which is a real shame as I would imagine this would prevent other tourists also spending money as we cannot be the only ones who struggled just to find a normal parking space that was not either pay by phone or permit parking.

We recently stayed at Cosy Cottage and overall had an enjoyable visit.

The cottage itself is quirky and full of character, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches on arrival — biscuits, apple juice, and milk were a nice welcome. The cottage is well equipped, with plenty of spare towels, bed linen, a laundry basket, board games, children's toys and other useful extras. The garden is lovely, and the location is peaceful, situated in a charming village that's perfectly placed for exploring Norfolk. Communication with the owner was polite and helpful when needed. That said, there were several aspects that detracted from our stay, particularly considering the price of £800 for the week. The overall cleanliness was disappointing — the kitchen floor was dirty and a used tea towel had been left in the washing machine, The living room floor was also quite dirty - we hoovered before leaving the property and it didn't appear to make any difference. The property had a strong dog smell with noticeable dog hair throughout. While we understand and appreciate that it’s a dog-friendly cottage, we did expect a more thorough clean before our arrival. Additionally, there was peeling paint in the bathroom, some staining on the wall in the single bedroom and other wear and tear which made the place feel a little tired. The upper stable door lock didn’t function when trying to secure it from the outside. We didn’t feel any of these issues required raising during our stay, but they are worth mentioning for the benefit of future guests and awareness for the owner. With more attention to cleanliness and some general maintenance, the cottage has the potential to offer a greater holiday experience and better value for money.

We booked a last minute stay at Cosy Cottage and it was perfect.

Location, comfort, dog friendly - we could have happily stayed much longer! Wonderful cottage, and very good value for the cost. Thank you ♥️

We have just spent a great ‘out of season’ week staying in this really well equipped holiday home. Its owners seem to have thought of everything. We have absolutely no complaints and look forward to staying there again. We’ve still got loads more to do and see. The open fire was welcome on the cold nights.

Cottage is absolutely fine.

If you are over 6ft it will require a lot of crouching. If you have a large car or van, parking is a not easy.

We really enjoyed our week at this cottage.

It’s in a peaceful little village with very friendly residents and ideally located for exploring the wider area. The house came equipped with pretty much anything we could have needed and the welcome guide was detailed and thorough - which was a great help at times. Parking at the rear was good and secure and the enclosed garden was absolutely lovely to spend time in. A big thank you to the owners for a great stay and for the welcoming treats on arrival. A neat clean and cosy cottage in a charming little village.

Well equipped for most people’s needs. Only drawback is a very steep set of stairs up to the bathroom and toilet.

The cottage is small.

( the clue is in the name) but big enough for 3 and a dog. It's was clean and well equipped . The biggest issue for us was the WIFI. I had a little work to do but couldn't do it. The WiFi is so slow that we could only connect one thing at a time. If we watched TV then that was it even with the TV off my off my laptop was to slow to be useful. Please put faster WiFi in

We enjoyed our week at this pretty cottage.

It had been made very welcoming and homely with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. The garden across from the house was well looked after and secure for our small poodle. Our only criticism was that the cottage could do with a thorough clean, particularly the kitchen and bathroom. Apart from that it is very well placed for touring around the area and we did not regret booking it. Bawdeswell itself is a lovely village with a small Morrisons supermarket on the high street.

Slightly confusing instructions concerning rubbish disposal but, apart from that, no complaints. PS. Thanks for the Christmas decorations - a welcome surprise.

The Cottage was beautifully presented with plenty of sweet touches.

It was very central and the coast / Norwich are very close. All the neighbours are friendly and I would recommend this property as a good base for Norfolk. Morrisons just down the road was an added bonus.

Such a cosy, welcoming cottage, we loved our stay.

The owner and housekeeper were first rate. Thank you to both of you. Would love to stay again.

This cottage was very difficult to find with the instructions given.

A lovely quaint cottage that we loved staying in.

Parking is fun and not for the faint hearted. The cottage was central to most of our days out. It was a really comfortable place to stay. Area was wonderful to explore.

Cottage lived up to its name so so cosy, very well equipped and the secure garden was lovely to enjoy a glass of wine in whilst our dog was able to wander around securely.

We loved our relaxing week here and would love to return. Many thanks x

Lovely cottage.

As there is limited storage it would he helpful if the owners took out a lot of their personal things in drawers and cupboards. This gives more room for paying guests to store their things. There is too much clutter in areas which should be kept for guests who are paying a premium to stay.

Lovely place to stay.

Put bin out as requested but it was not collected. Garden was great to sit in at the end of the day. The cottage has everything that you need. Thank you
