The area is quiet but close to the coast and a the lovely town of Sherringham. Lots to do and see in the area but equally would be happy to chill in the well maintained private garden.

“An excellent and very enjoyable stay.”

The design of the property is perfect for two families - one being grandparents and the other a family with up to two children as the rooms are at separate ends of the bungalow, each with their own facilities. The garage is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Everything was very clean and worked. The beds were very comfortable and the chairs and settee in the lounge are recliners. Televisions everywhere - not that we used them! There are are also plenty of DVD films and books and boxed games of all descriptions.

The welcome pack was greatly appreciated and very plentiful and the flowers were a lovely treat. If anybody takes a baby and uses the cot provided take a mattress, as I wasn't aware this came under part of the bedding.

We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. It should be noted that the walk into Sheringham is quite a long one and involves a very busy road, fine for us but those with young children or difficulty walking might find it difficult. As a base to explore the wider area though, the bungalow is highly recommended.

“Excellent place to stay and the owners add extra touches such as tea , coffee and milk was provide on our arrival.”

They even provided a loaf of bread and a selection of preserves. The accommodation was homely and comfortable but there was only enough seating in the lounge area for five persons so one of us had to sit on a bean bag. Apart from that we enjoyed our time at Elliots retreat and would definitely recommend the property.

The only thing missing was a tea strainer! Fortunately we took own. BUT unfortunately we left it behind at Elliott's retreat!!! A small price to pay! Well equipped and lovely and clean bungalow. We are booked for next year 2022. Big increase in price. But owner would have received no revenue in 2020. If you come, try Priory maze,Beeston Regis. 5 minute walk. Book it 1st. Very pleasant place for a light lunch,also Holt Garden Centre in Kelling.

In terms of location the property is very close to a number of beaches and was good as a base to visit local National Trust places (Sheringham Park, Blickling Estate and Fellbrigg). We also went to Blakeney, The Broads and Norwich. Overall we had an enjoyable holiday.

The bungalow's position, on a delightfully quiet estate of bungalows, is fabulous. The bungalow had everything we wanted and could possibly have needed. All three bedrooms are of a good size and having a bathroom and a separate shower room is great as we were three couples sharing the accommodation. The lounge is a delightfully sunny, light room and as with all other rooms, extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen-diner was a lovely place in which to share meals (extremely well-equipped) The folder with operating instructions for the electrical equipment was very helpful. The 'corner-shop', just a short walk away, is very well-stocked and has very pleasant, informative staff (they made us feel very 'at-home'). We also exchanged pleasantries with the neighbours who also welcomed us. We had a fabulous holiday and certainly hope to return to Elliott's Retreat in the future.

Elliot's Retreat is a ground floor holiday home on the fringes of the Norfolk town of Sheringham. It offers three bedrooms, including two doubles and a twin, there is also a bathroom and a shower room, the property can sleep six people. The accommodation also includes a kitchen/diner with extra comfy seating and a sitting room. To the outside, you will find plenty of off-road parking, a garage/utility housing a washing machine and an enclosed rear garden with a patio, lawn and furniture. Elliott's Retreat is a modern cottage in a superb coastal location.

SHERINGHAM

Cromer 4.8 miles.

Sheringham was originally a small fishing village on the North Norfolk coast, but with the arrival of the railways in 1887 it prospered and grew into a popular holiday town. Sheringham has been awarded ten consecutive European Blue Flags for cleanliness for its beach, along with awards from Britain in Bloom, Anglia in Bloom, and Best Coastal Resort. Enjoy walking along the East or West promenades, offering sea views with blue skies and red sunsets, a beach with a silver-pebbled shoreline leading to golden sands with rock pools and streams next to ochre cliffs, local fishing boats and a RLNI lifeboat station with museum. This attractive traditional seaside town also has the 'Little Theatre', open all year round, seaside gardens with seating, a model boating lake, independent shops, tea rooms, steam railway, golfing, amusement arcades, and fish & chip shops selling locally-caught fish.
