On arrival found mess on bath towel, other towels had dirty markings, stair gate was faulty so could not be used, bed linin sheets were all marked and well used, both settees were not fit for purpose, so so uncomforatable, shower hit and miss, living room door handle fell off in your hand, kit in needs a good clean,

Hi, very sorry to hear of your concerns, but also very surprised. As you can see we have never had a review like this previously. We take enormous pride in the condition and cleanliness of the cottage, and we stayed there 3 days before your visit and gave the cottage a deep clean, including the kitchen, as we regularly do. I'm really not sure how some modern leather sofas can be 'not fit for purpose'. If you had any concerns whatsoever you could have contacted the housekeeper as we suggest, such that we could have had the opportunity to fix any issues that may have existed. I feel this review is not representative of the very positive feedback and 'outstanding' rating we have strived to build up over the previous 15 years. We have many guests, including lots of repeat bookings who appreciate the property and have had lovely breaks. I wish you a better stay on your next holiday.
