Brundall House

We had a wonderful stay at Brundall House.

The house was incredibly spacious, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. There were lots of thoughtful touches, including milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and sugar, as well as generous supplies of washing-up liquid, hand wash and other essentials. It really felt like the owners had thought of everything. The location is ideal — just a short walk from the Co-op and the River Yare, and perfectly placed for exploring the wider Norfolk Broads. Communication with the owner was excellent throughout too. Our only small suggestion would be to add a couple more lamps in the living room, as the overhead lighting is quite bright when watching TV in the evening. Other than that, everything was perfect and we would happily stay again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house annex in a very good location ideal for buses to Norwich.

20 minutes walk to the station. Fairly good local facilities on your doorstep.Local walks available for dog owners. One of the best places we have stayed and would recommend to other visitors.

Brundall house is the largest two-person property we have ever stayed in, with every room spacious and beautifully decorated.

There are two Co-op stores within five minutes' walk and a handy station for trains to Norwich. Host Sarah was helpful in quickly supplying a coffee pot. Our only challenge was that I am not very tall and found the table far too high - I could eat, but found it almost impossible to use a laptop, as I needed to do at times, as I was far below typing height. The kitchen cupboards are also quite high and I couldn't reach some shelves, so a step stool of some sort there would be helpful.

Brundall House is a superb place to stay.

The accommodation both upstairs and downstairs is so roomy and spacious. I always love having a big shower and this provides a classic experience. There was everything that we could possibly need. We used the washing machine during the week because the heatwave meant that we used more clothes than we would usually do! The village has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and the local Co-op shops were very well stocked. The train station is only a short walk away providing access to both Norwich and Yarmouth. This was our first trip to The Broads and found wonderful boat trips and interesting Nature everywhere. Thank you for providing such a lovely place to stay and enjoy all this.

This was a delightful property in a very handy village just outside Norwich.

It was convenient for "The Broads" but also for public transport into Norwich - bus stop within 30 yards. A very attractive property in a very convenient spot for travelling around the local area.

A lovely property for couples.

Very handy for local amenities eg Pubs, cafes, restaurants etc, without being intrusive. Close to RSPB site with facilities. Handy for train/buses into Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Close to other Broads villages like Wroxham, Horning, Potter Heigham and Reedham. The property is immaculate with everything you would need to make your stay a pleasure.

The accommodation was excellent.

There was everything that you could possibly need. It was a real home from home. We had our dog with us and there was an enclosed space to the rear of the property as well as to the front. This was very reassuring as we knew the dog was safe. Sarah, the host lives next door and was on hand if help was required. I would recommend this property.

Excellent accommodation.

An annexe on the side of the owner's house. Fully stocked with all the kitchen utensils you could ever need! Washing machine and tumble dryer a bonus! Very dog friendly, small enclosed grass area at the front, fenced small patio area at the back (overlooking the owner's large garden). Location excellent for the Broads and the coast. Definitely recommended.

Thank you again Sarah for another lovely Christmas at brundall House, it’s was so kind of you and your mum to put up a real Christmas tree with decorations and lights, and all the other decorations, we really do appreciate it, so nice to have such a really relaxing time, happy new year to you and your family.

Fantastic holiday so much walking opportunities from here church fen, cremer meadow, martys Marsh, strumpshaw fen, Buckenham marshes, wherry line train, lovely towns to visit and explore Brundall Acle Cantley so much to see when it comes to different habitats wildlife nature and environment.

Migrating birds to animals a superb part of Norfolk all accessible by train hike and walking. Our host Sarah was fantastic, she picked up our luggage and took it to cottage while we explored and waited for the cottage to be cleaned as we had trouble with trains so had to start holiday 2 days earlier in another cottage and so cross over times for stays where not compatible, but thanks to Sarah we started our holiday enjoying church fen. The property was superb, in a beautiful location within shared grounds, with fantastic mature tress surrounding us, our little garden was fenced off so buddy our dog could roam safely. The cottage was homely comfortable and supplied with fantastic facilities the utility room was a godsend to us as we love walking and at times we all get dirty and muddy, crossing fields, woods and marshes. The whole downstairs is so easily maintainable as it's hard floors throughout perfect for us and our dog. The upstairs carpeted huge and comfy with a superb couch so we could lounge upstairs taking in the views. Fantastic facilities power showers bath and toilet just what you needed after a long walk. The only negative I had was a personal one that must not be seen as a negative for everyone. I had to place my mattress on the floor as I couldn't cope with the height of the beds, I'm not a single bed user I'm use to a double at home yo myself, with hubby in a single to himself, but I'm disabled larger lady, so therefore felt safer closer to the ground, incase I rolled out lol, also I found the beds mattresses too hard but once on the ground I slept fantastically it was more comfy for me. My hubby felt they were too high a bed, but mattress was great for him. We are all different what is too hard for some is perfect for others and visa versa. Everything was perfect and will be definitely back if she will have us. As we had a bad couple of days whereby our dog became very unwell and needed to go to the vets. Sarah was so understanding about whole situation, you could tell she was an animal lover by all the things she provides for the furry holidayers to her cottage. Fully recommend this place situated between both stations, close to shops, pubs and all amenities, even emergency supplies. Thoroughly fantastic holiday.

Our second visit to Brundall House was just as comfortable and pleasant as the first.

It is a very well equipped house, lovely outlook over the garden from the terrace and the facilities in the village are excellent too.

We had a really special week in Brundall House.

We were visiting to spend time with our son and family in Strumpshaw. The comfort, location and facilities were excellent. We spent quiet mornings having breakfast on the patio and were always happy to return in the evening after busy grandchildren days. It is one of the best places we've stayed in.

A wonderfully tranquil base from which to explore the varied attractions of the area, whether this is the city interests of Norwich; the long history of the Blundall area, from neolithic times to the present day; the Broads and the coast: it's got it all.

In addition, it has a welcoming, kind and thoughtful owner who went out of her way to make me comfortable.

Very comfortable, clean and well presented. Everything is provided for you in the kitchen so you have no issues if you want a night in! A really good property to base yourself and explore the Norfolk broads. Highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay for a week in a lovely part of the country.

House was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. I could live there!! Great for our little dog too. Nice dog walks every morning round the local village. Was bigger than we expected with a bedroom to die for. Large and so nicely furnished. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if we are in Norfolk

If you want a comfortable, relaxing holiday then look no further.

The cleanliness and quality of the property and its contents are second to none. We have stayed in many self catering properties and this is by far the best. The little touches made this a perfect holiday for both of us and our four legged friend. Made to feel very welcome by the hosts and locals in the village. The White Heron is well worth a visit the food was great and very dog friendly. If you like to cook yourself then a visit to Blofield Farm shop is a must for top quality meat.

This is the second time we have stayed at Brundall House.

I mentioned in a previous review that it is a lovely property with a great attention to detail. It has all the facilities and equipment we wanted. Also the rooms are very spacious. The location also has huge benefits with shops and places to eat within easy walking distance. Brundall even has a railway station. The list of helpful or nice features about the property and the location goes on and on. Some more include a large bath and separate shower in the spacious bathroom, and the wifi is good enough to stream movies on my laptop. There is also a nearby petrol station. We have stayed in Norfolk many times over the years, and, for the needs of myself and my wife, this is, overall, the best Norfolk property we have stayed in.

A very comfortable, spacious, quiet and well equipped holiday home.

The interior has been very well furnished and made to feel very homely and the outside patio terrace is a lovely private area overlooking the gardens which we were able to enjoy in the sunshine in October! The location is super with easy access to Norwich city and for us visiting family in Acle & Caister. Sarah (the owner) was very friendly and responsive with a few queries we had. We had a lovely time staying at Brundall House and will certainly be back again.

This is a very high standard property. It is very comfortable and very homely. It is very well equipped. Location is great, being on quiet street but it is close to main road and within walking distance of local railway stations for ease of access across the area. Very highly recommended - we have already booked for 2025.

The kitchen was well equipped, living area pleasant with french doors out onto the patio area with garden view and sunny aspect. Very comfortable, lots of space, quiet, very dog friendly with bowls, blankets, bed and treats. Nice secure outside space. Location suited us as visiting several family members who either live 10 minute walk away or 10 minute drive. Had family come for meal with us, everything needed to cook and serve for 4 people, home from home. One of best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.

One of the best holiday homes we’ve stayed in. The patio would be lovely in the summer. We particularly enjoyed the visits from a pair of long-tailed tits who came to the windows several times each day. Sarah was friendly and helpful. We really can’t fault anything. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Almost everything about this property was perfect - and it must be even nicer in summer when one could enjoy the outside.

The decor was exceptionally tasteful and the house was wonderfully spacious.

Very spacious. Very easy to get to from main roads but in quiet area with local shops/pubs/restaurants. Located within walking distance of railway station for ease of access to Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Sheringham & Cromer to name but a few. The property was warm, spacious, welcoming and easy to keep tidy.

We enjoyed talking to the owners and being able to explore the area. The utility room was amazing . The only thing that would have been useful though was an airing rack for items that can't be tumble dried or to save electricity by putting it outside.

One thing that would benefit visitors is more information about local places of interest. A guest book would be helpful here as visitors can add their local trips.

This property is exceptional, very comfortable and clean and extremely well equipped if you like to home cook.

It is also very well situated for visiting the Broads, coast and Norwich itself. The co-op is just yards away and we had a take away Cantonese dinner for 2 which was excellent. It was a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

A first class annexe, well kitted out.

is in a convenient position for visiting Norwich and the Broads. We used our National bus pass into Norwich with the stop being a minutes walk from the property, next to the Co-op shop. The local pub was ok for a drink but not serving food as they do not have a chef.

I have used Sykes for many years and have been generally happy every time regarding the properties I have stayed at however never felt compelled before to leave a review.

This time is different! I stayed at Brundall House for a week with my daughter and was so thrilled with the comfort and cleanliness. Sarah was a pleasure to deal with - she helped me with something and nothing was too much trouble. I felt safe and everything was meticulous. Thank you.

We had a fantastic holiday in Brundall House.

It had everything we needed and more. My dog enjoyed laying on the snuggle mat and snoozing. It is a stunning and beautiful house, sitting on the patio in the sun was a bonus . It is a good base to explore the beautiful surroundings as close to Norwich, the broads and the coast. Thank you. We will be back I'm sure.

The host was so welcoming made sure we were going to be warm. Inside the property they thought of everything. The standard was 5 star. Very clean and maintained. We are looking to return again.

We enjoyed a lovely, comfortable stay at Brundall House, which is ideally located for the RSPB reserves in the area and we were lucky to see a variety of wildlife.

Sarah and her husband are great hosts, not intrusive, they kindly lent us some binoculars, which we had managed to forget! Will happily return in the future, for a repeat visit.

It was exceptional and far exceeded our expectations. The furnishings,decor etc were very good and the close proximity to bus stop for transport into Norwich was excellent if, like us you dont want to use your car every day. I would certainly reccommend this holiday home to anyone, they will certainly not be disappointed.The owner is on hand to help with any query you may have.
