lovely welcome pack house clean, the only downsize towels very hard, two dogs next door barking at 10 pm till midnight & again at 5 30 am every day.

Very lovely house.

Brilliant for a family. All the things you need, the patio with a large table is a sun trap. Beach just around the corner. Supermarket and shops and pub 5 minutes walk. Local bus stop top of the street to jump on to Great Yarmouth ( cheap)

We had a lovely week staying at Donnys Plaice In August.

2 adults, 2 children under 13 and our dog. On arrival, everything was clean and cosy, and we had a welcome pack with some essentials for us and our dog. The accommodation is equipt with everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. We used the outside area most evenings which has a great set up. Situated only a 10 minutes walk from the beach which is really nice (around the corner) and dog friendly. We recommend Ryan's fish and chips- next to the beach, and Lotties cafe which is a 5 minute walk. Another lovely beach was Winterton Seal view (also dog friendly) where we did see some seals in the sea. We spent time on many walks which were under 20 minute drive away. We recommend How Hill and St Bennetts near Ludham and Burgh Castle. Nice pubs and cafes around both areas. Close to Great Yarmouth which was great for the kids. I highly recommend staying here, and our hosts were very lovely and accommodating.

Lovely house with everything you need, stairs are a little steep if your not agile the extra bar on the right very helpful as the bathroom and toilet is downstairs, parking on front , back garden excellent for us and dogs , very helpful friendly owners the only down thing was the dog next door which was barking late and the noise from the stadium a couple of nights , beach a short walk away as was Tesco, chip shop and the Chinese take away was good, plenty of buses at top of road to Yarmouth

We had a great time staying in Donny's Cottage, would definitely stay there again next time I'm in Norfolk.

The host was a lovely lady and on hand if needed. She also left some provisions, which was nice. Would highly recommend this place if in Norfolk, Yarmouth not that far away

Nice little house in a residential area.

No problem with parking as can park outside. Close to a car race track so you do get noise from that in the garden. 2 evenings while we were there, but did not bother us to much. You can hear the neighbours in the house next door and got woken up 5am and 7am a couple of times as their dog does love to bark. The King size bed is very comfortable and not a bad size bedroom. A nice seating area in the garden could do with a proper barbecue. Nice seating in the conservatory. Great powerful shower. Kitchen space a little tight re counter space. If cooking for more than 2 could be a little difficult. The lounge needs more comfortable seating. 2 tub chairs which are uncomfortable and you cannot relax in. The sofa was reasonably comfortable but if you are seated near the TV end then not easy watch the tv. I am glad I took my cushion so I could rest my back and head as the sofa is to low. Needs a better sofa and 1 or 2 comfortable armchairs. The owners are next door and friendly but not intrusive. Had bread, butter, cheese milk and biscuits for us on our arrival which was very thoughtful. Close to a nice natural beach and the lifeboat station has a lovely cafe. Close to takeaways and fish and chips etc. Ideal location for exploring the Coast and the Broads. Nice house but would be so much more comfortable with better seating in the lounge.

We had a wonderful time at Donny's Plaice.

The facilities were excellent and the we couldn't have asked for more. I was blown away by the attention to detail. Caister was a good place to stay as it was so near everything, which is a consideration when travelling with young children. Couldn't be happier.

We really enjoyed our stay at Donny’s Plaice, only downside was next doors dog started barking from 6am every morning which woke baby up, but we still enjoyed our stay!

And thankyou for leaving the essentials (bread,milk etc)! Hopefully we will be returning next year at some point!

Really nice stay and well kitted out in the kitchen.

Property was immaculate on arrival with some nice extra touches. Our only issue was the lack of an upstairs toilet but we understand space is an issue. Would highly recommend as a location for an East coast stay!

Great place to use as a base for exploring.

Owners are lovely and very helpful. We were able to bring our dog as it is dog friendly, unfortunately this seemed to upset the neighbouring dogs which meant they barked a lot and was the only down side.

Donny’s plaice is a lovely home away from home, they have catered for all needs.

A well stocked kitchen, and even a nice clean doggy bed/bowls/toys/ treats left for our pup. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the dog next door in the house attached barked loudly from 7am every day (we have a naturally super quiet dog so just aren’t used to barking dogs) and the smaller bedroom doors didn’t shut (just need planing at the bottom). Just a short 12 min walk to Caister-on-Sea beach which is very very clean and 5 min walk to a decent sized Tesco.

A little gem.

Love the property name and the story behind it. The property is in a really fantastic location near to the beach, local amenities and a very short drive into Great Yarmouth. The property was very clean and well presented with a lovely patio garden area. A warm welcome from the host on arrival and It was lovely to know the host was only next door if we needed anything. We will definitely be back

We were a family of four adults, two children (5 and 8) and two small dogs.

The accommodation was ideal for us. The enclosed rear garden was good for the children and the dogs and a quiet beach with sand dunes and pebbles was a 10 minute walk away. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. Thanks for the welcome pack of tea and coffee etc. and the barbecue.

We had a super holiday.

The holiday home is in a great location. Only a couple of miles from Great Yarmouth. Plenty of Places to eat and visit. The beaches are beautiful, clean and have all that you need close by. The property was quite comfortable and had everything you may need for a comfortable holiday, a home from home. There were some lovely treats waiting for us. The owner even left a small BBQ for us. Really recommend Donny’s Plaice.

Just come back from a great week at donnys plaice.

The house was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. The owners were just next door and came to say hello. The welcome pack was a nice touch for us and for our dog, and the dog toys were great ( which my four year old loved too) the fridge was stocked with bread, milk, and butter which was very welcome. It had everything we could possibly need. The location was perfect with the bus into great yarmouth just at the top of the road and very regular. We would definitely recommend and be back too.

Lovely clean house.

Nice big shower. Garden very safe for our 2 dogs. Close to all amenities with supermarkets nearby. Had a great carvery in the castle restaurant. The owners who live next door were very friendly and approachable. Couldn't fault the place and would go back again.

The owners are lovely and couldn't be more helpful so kind and left us a welcome pack including treats for the dog .

The house was well stocked, including bread and milk ready for our arrival. Everything was comfortable and anything extra we needed was at hand. The garden space was an added extra for the cottage, perfect for the kids to play in and for us to sit and eat in. The location was also perfect, a short walk to a lovely quiet beach and an easy bus ride into Great Yarmouth for a day out.

What an amazing ‘home from home’!

The very best dog friendly holiday home - doggie and human welcome packs very much appreciated. .Modern, extremely clean and offering all the required amenities. In a central area for ease of explorations. We honestly could not recommend this home high enough.

Great place for dogs and walks

Hi Donny’s Plaice Caister-On-Sea, Norfolk Donny,s Place had all the kitchen tools and a big new conservatory for a dining room which seats 8 persons, all clean to a high standard .

06 - 11 April, 2025 This House is in a dead end, so the road is very quiet. Car parking outside the house and in the road is very good . Close to the seaside, walk and drive, and Tesco's and other shops & Fish Chips & and a pub are down the road. Like a lot of houses in Norfolk W.C the bathroom was updated and clean, but all downstairs, thanks for a good Easter Holiday. The owner is close by for help if needed

Donny's Plaice was spotless & comfortable.

. Welcome pack was a bonus & appreciated after travelling.. Enclosed garden for our fur babies was great & conservatory was nice to eat in such a bright room..could do with blinds though as the sun in your eyes was a problem.. Beds comfy but need new pillows on all beds.. Stairs are steep but we all managed.. Regardless of above mentioned, nothing spoiled our stay at Donny's.. Thank Mandy..You was very helpful & accommodating.. A lovely lady.. Visit Thrigby Hall wildlife Gardens...was well worth the entrance fee..had a fab time there.. Donny's Plaice is worth staying at..

Donny's Plaice is a perfect holiday home for access to the broads and the beaches.

The rear garden is ideal for dogs and the covered seating area is a nice addition for humans. Spacious main bedroom with a very comfy bed. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 is no dishwasher and no upstairs lavatory. ( I know these are clearly stated but regarding the loo, getting up at 4am and having to go downstairs for a wee was a bit of a challenge:-) ) Seriously, we loved it there and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are in the area for a break.

A lovely place to stay, all the little extra touches for us and the dogs which you very rarely get were great would definitely recommend.

Excellent property with very welcoming hosts.

Property has all facilities required and more. Safe for dogs and conveniently located. Dog walking easy due to proximity of beach and dunes. Roman Fort offers extensive grassed area for dogs too and is a very short drive away.

It’s also a brilliant location as a base for exploring the whole area - walking distance from the beach, local amenities and good restaurants. The owners live just next door and are a really friendly couple and very helpful. We loved staying in the house and would definitely recommend.

The accommodation was in a great location, very close to the beach and shops.

The accommodation is in a residential street so you have to aware of noise from other dogs/neighbours early morning. The beds were very comfortable, main bedroom bed is a little too long in design so is a squeeze to pass to the others side but a beautiful bed. The stairs are quiet steep but a rail both sides helps with this no problem. The accommodation is well equipped with a lovely welcome pack to start your holiday, Tesco is literally a 3 minute drive or a short walk up the road. We could of happily stayed another week, a lovely friendly area. A bonus having the owner next door who is available if you need anything.

We stayed at Donny’s Plaice 17th - 24th May.

This is the most dog friendly accommodation we have ever stayed in and it was spotless. The owners had thought of everything even a paddling pool set up for our dogs in the garden. The outside space is enclosed and private and the owner lives next door should you have any issues. We had a fantastic time it was our 1st visit and we will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely place, we were there only for 2 days but thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The house had everything thing that we needed, very clean and tastefully decorated to an excellent standard. A nice touch with the welcome pack, something that we were not expecting so had a nice surprise when we got there, even our dog was well catered for. Thank you very much :-)

The property was lovely and clean on arrival.

Mandy was there to greet us (she lives next door) and was very accommodating throughout our stay. There was little welcome treats for both humans and dogs. The beds were lovely and comfortable. Would 100% recommend this place to family and friends We noticed that there was no bbq facilities at the property so you might want to take a small disposable one (if honoured by Mandy) if you want to do that one day?

We absolutely loved our stay here.

We are a family of 4, (with a young toddler) plus our doggy Bella. The facilities provided were great, including travel cot and high chair, both of which had been cleaned (something we have experienced that you don't get at other places, often!) The only downside we could possibly add, was that there was no grass in the garden (although we appreciate the maintenance would be a lot higher to keep grass!) It wasn't too much of an issue though, as we were nice and close to a dog walking beach :) Mandy was very hospitable and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay (was a very nice touch to have milk ready in the fridge when we arrived for a cuppa :) thank you!) Would definitely recommend, and would stay again.

Host Mandy was there to welcome and say goodbye, very friendly and helpful. There were lovely touches like milk, bread, butter, tea etc which were really appreciated after a long journey. Even the dog was catered for. Ideal location as a base to explore.

Very clean and well maintained property.

Location was spot on for us, having to visit Hemsby and Gorleston. Great dog walking locations could not fault Donnys Place and the owner allowed us to leave later than 10 due to no bookings coming in on the back of our departure.

The house is well furnished and has everything you need. Mandy and her partner were both very friendly, but not intrusive. There is a supermarket, various takeaways, pub, convenience store etc within a 5 minute walk, with the beach a further 5 minutes away. We'd happily return.

The welcome items were extensive including dog treats!

Mandy who lives next door was around to greet us and easily available. The property has only recently been prepared to a high standard. The shower although downstairs was extremely effective. Good heating provided. The courtyard is handy if weather good and very safe for a dog. Convenient for the dog friendly beach. Local pubs are very disappointing but better ones can be found by driving out of Caister.

We had a great 4 night stay, the place was decorated how we would have done, not tired or dated.

The shower had a lot of power which was great, the tv was a smart tv so we could catchup on our regular Netflix movies and programes. We used the bedroom at the front of the house which had a blackout blind as well as curtains which was a nice touch. It was like a home from home which is what we were after. The host Mandy is friendly and approchable which is always good. Parking is available off road for one car, but you could park elsewhere in the street if you had more than one vehicle. It is located close to Tescos which is a bonus and could be walked from the accomodation in less than 10 minutes. The high street with shops and take aways is less than 5 minutes walk away. I would recomend the Chinese take away, the food was really nice and not too greasey. Just past the shops is a round about where you turn right pass SuperFry chip shop and that will lead you to the beach car park. This is free at this time of the year which is a bonus. The dog friendly beach is easily walkable from the house. It's a sandy beach too which is great for children or dog walking. Great Yarmouth is around 10 minutes drive away, packed with shops, amusements and restaurants as well as a few piers & rides, Sealife, Model Village to name a few. So this accomodation is in a very good location and great for a base. We had a great time and celebrated our anniversary here and was not disapointed. Mandy also provide dog treats, milk and other items as a welcome pack which was very kind, not expected but welcomed. We had a great time and would return again.

The back garden is enclosed with undercover table and chairs,great for eating outside,and safe for dogs. It's a easy walk to the beach and shops,pubs and restaurants and the bus stops at the top of the road,going to Great Yarmouth or along the coast every 20 minutes

Great location for exploring Norfolk, Mandy quickly dealt with the couple of issues.

Myself & husband are in our late 50’s and found the stairs steep and we were grateful of the grab rail. Beds are comfortable (he snores lol). If an en-suite in the front bedroom was put in the closet that would be an added benefit. After busy days out, once hubby settled on the settee, there was only the tub chairs for me, not the best for relaxing in, a cuddle chair opposite the TV again would be an improvement. We missed having a fire at night time to make it feel cosy. The conservatory is beautiful but we felt the table was too big, a comfortable sofa & smaller table again would make better use of it. Outside, we moved the two single chairs to enjoy a coffee in the morning sunshine. Dog friendly, loved the flexible stair gate. Absolutely fabulous welcome gifts for us and the dogs. We were blessed with sunshine during the day and have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Thank you.

The house was very nice and a good location.

The only slight issue was the building work all day next door which was obviously no fault of our hosts and couldn't be helped but was quite annoying at some points. The only other thing we felt the house could have benefited from would be more seating in the lounge. As there was only 3 of us it was OK but any more people and you wouldn't all be able to sit together in there. Apart from this, the house was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The welcome pack for both humans and dogs was a lovely touch. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful

We would definitely like to return in the future. We had such wonderful days out and the beds are so comfy, it was hard to get out of them. This is a wonderful property and well worth every penny. We had a lovely holiday and I’m sure you will too.

The property was really lovely!

Really clean and tidy throughout! It was just what we needed for our short stay away. It catered us well for all of us - 5 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs! Love that it is dog friendly! Close to canister beach which is also dog friendly! Would recommend to a friend :)

Lovely owner who lives next door and unexpected welcome items for us which was great.

All Modern appliances with exception of dishwasher but understandable as no space for it. Fantastic shower and water pressure. Small but really lovely outside space with Gazebo. Only two downsides for us personally: The road that it was on was narrow and full on one side with parked cars. Even though slate area at front of property for parking it not always easy to manoeuvre. Also the toilet next to the shower has very little room and being overweight it was a very compacted area, but I do appreciate this may have been the only option for the owner. Overall a lovely place to stay
