“This is a little gem of a cottage.”
Sited on a very quiet lane on the edge of a very quiet village it really is a get away from it all place. There is absolutely no noise to be heard - unless the cricket club have got a match over the way on their ground!
The cottage is small but was great for just the two of us and our pooch. Everything has been thought out. No dishwasher means you can idly look across to the fields and see the horses while doing the washing up, a downstairs bathroom means no climbing the stairs during the day for the loo!
The bed was comfy, bed linen was good quality, shower worked well - can you tell we loved this little place? The only downside for us was the “detached “ garden, it needs to have some of the loving care that has been lavished inside Herbies. There is a small sitting area right outside the back door and it was nice to chat with the friendly neighbours and get tips of where to go, and it gets the sun for most of the day.
We were lucky to be there for the heatwave so enjoyed exploring all of the beaches nearby and came home with suntans to rival European holidays after just a week away.
We loved Herbies and hope to return, maybe in the winter months when we can enjoy the log burner.
