The Ramblers' Annex

All good as usual.

Always someone to check in with, if we had any issues. We made good use of the fan to contend with the heat. Directions to the fish and chip shop etc Thanks Lewis family see you next year in July.

Lovely base for 2 people.

It had everything you might need, and more! The owners made us very welcome, and made a lot of fuss of our noisy dog. We were able to visit many areas of Norfolk knowing we had somewhere nice to go back to.

The annex is clean and comfortable with everything that you need, the dogs have the run of the garden which is secure. The family are very welcoming. This was our second stay and would recommend the annex.

It had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. Hosts were excellent and there if you needed them. We will certainly be booking with Christine, Steve and Gemma again soon.

The annex was really comfortable and well equipped.

Being able to take a young labrador there was well considered and items were provided although we had taken our own. It was quiet and rural and we enjoyed local walks out with our pup where we saw deer, hares and other wildlife. We would definitely go there again.

Could do with more cutlery as not enough when using the dishwasher.

Needs a bit of modernising but had all the facilities needed. Comfy bed, pillows a bit on the hard side.

From the warm friendly welcome we received when we arrived, to the cosy, well equipped accommodation of the annexe, this was one of the best holiday stays we've had.

The accommodation was clean, nicely laid out and had everything you could need on holiday: Loads of books, dvd's, information on places to visit in the area and nice touches like the coffee machine, biscuits, milk, tea/coffee, jars of jam and even treats for our dog Lola! We will definitely be back!

This is a lovely well appointed and comfortable holiday let.

The hosts were great, available to help but not intrusive. Ideally situated on the edge of a friendly village with easy access to routes around Norfolk. And a big thank you for the treats for us and Max.

Great property the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make sure you feel at home and have provided more than the usual holiday cottage .

Ideally situated for local facilities and to get to lots of sites of interest. All in all a very dog and human friendly place to stay, thank you to the family who were all very welcoming.

We enjoyed a catch up with friends from Heacham and visited local sites: the common up the road, the Goat Shed and The Castle Acre priory. Further away Wrexham and Roy’s department store for fake flowers for a dish made by our friend for a special occasion. No trip to the seaside or even Acorn this trip as we were mostly catching up on resting over the bank holiday in our favourite bolthole♥️

Lovely welcome from the owners and their dogs.

Facilities all good and as described. Loved the outdoor space which we used due to the good weather and had meals outside most days. Did some local walks from the property so great for not taking the car out every day. Good location for a few National Trusts that we also visited. This is our second visit and would recommend.

Lovely annexe - ultra pet friendly with everything you could possibly need.

Very friendly owners who were happy for our dog to wander the garden at will and offered to dog sit if required. We had the use of a section of the garden with garden chairs, washing line etc. absolutely great stay !

It was so nice to be back at our "home from home" and will be returning. We have stayed here so many times that it's like visiting family! Because we know the area so well now, it's great to unpack and just relax from day one, no stress, everything is within easy reach and The Ramblers provides all you need to feel at home.

Catherine takes her guests comfort very seriously and is on hand with any issues that may arise.

Ramblers is in a rural position within a village,but is about 20 minutes drive to large supermarkets and an hour to the coast.The annexe is joined to the busy family home by a locked internal door.The family live next door but are mindful of guests.Cathrine has thought of everything you will need during your stay from umbrellas,to waterproofs and torches,it has a Woodburner,but this is only needed for visual effect as the annexe is warm enough,shower was excellent.Had a lovely Christmas stay here thank you.

Extremely well equipped, very clean, accomodating, lovely location and most of all, dog friendly with an enclosed garden.

A credit to the owners. Upon arrival my Lab was whisked into their home to meet their dogs, there were dog treats galore, throws and even a dog bed! We spent a very quiet time there and would not hesitate to visit again.

I love this place.

Steve, Catherine and Gemma are so welcoming and are always on hand if I needed something but leave you alone if you don't. The Annex has everything that you can possibly need and the welcoming milk, biscuits and jams are lovely touches. The log burner makes the lounge extremely cozy and even more so with a glass of wine. I would definitely recommend. This is not my first visit and certainly not my last as I've booked for next year.

A lovely warm welcome from all the family and the annexe is so well equipped everything you need even down to a slow cooker!

We stayed for a short break Monday to Friday due to other commitments, had we known how nice the place was we would have changed our plans and stayed for a full week.

From the very start we had the nicest of welcome from all the family for us both and our dog. The whole family where friendly and advised us on local places to eat and visit. As it happened the cottage/ annex was so well equipped we didn't eat out at all. The log burner was supplied with fuel and we stayed in and cooked in the best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a rental. the only negative for us is the dates we wanted or next year are not available. Highly recommended for a relaxing chilled place to stay.

Our little dog was made very welcome, and she had space to roam and everyone politely ignored her barking when they opened the gate (something that she never failed to do). Thank you to everyone at The Ramblers.

The main issue as a driver was the location.

The Ramblers is situated in a rural spot with access along quite narrow lanes at certain points where passing is only permissible at passing places. In that respect, as a driver, the location was challenging, and it wasn't pointed out in the listing. The ruralness of the property meant that, generally, it was reasonably quiet though sited on a small main road, there was noise from residents' traffic and working farmers. The property was, it seemed, under the flight path to Norwich Airport as there was quite a lot of aircraft noise, particularly in the early evening! There was noise from the owners' house, dogs barking, etc. but since the property was an annexe to the house this was inevitable though it didn't do anything to nurture the feeling of getting 'away from it all'. The property itself was comfortable without being excessively so. The step up to the entrance didn't have those who are disabled - like my wife - in mind. On arrival, we were greeted by the owners' daughter, who was friendly, keen to help and explain what we needed to know. She was available if we needed help with anything. The facilities were OK. In the kitchen, all the necessary equipment was provided, the linen on the bed was clean and attractive (the bed was certainly comfortable) and the bathroom was, by comparison, with ours at home relatively spacious! We did have an issue with a dripping showerhead that we reported to Gemma. She said her mum had told her all we had to do was lift the showerhead higher, but that didn't work. The TV and, particularly, the availability of watching Sky was attractive for Mike as he is a sports fan! We would have liked to have used the DVD but only found this on the last morning, in a bedroom wardrobe. Diane in particular thought the information booklet would have benefitted from being updated. One section referred to a neighbour selling eggs. She hadn't for three years! There was a small selection of DVDs, none that we could see were particularly recent, though there was an interesting selection of books and quite a choice of games and jigsaws which was good. The fridge and deep freezer were in the entrance hall rather than the kitchen area but we didn't find that an issue. There was a large stain on the carpet leading from the entrance hall that could do with attention. The parking was on a gravel area alongside the family cars and we had to open and close double gates each time we left/arrived at the property to ensure the owners' dogs didn't stray onto the road. There were gardens with furniture in them we were told we could use but the summerhouse was full of equipment that meant we couldn't use that. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and certainly were not offput by the Ramblers but we're unsure whether we would rush to return. Finally, and this is a little bugbear of ours, it would be nice to receive a welcome pack as part of the introduction to the property. There was tea, coffee, and a packet of biscuits and milk but we have been, perhaps treated too well, at other places in the past that provided other items such as eggs, butter and bread - and a few welcome choccies. Perhaps we're asking too much with that one!

It really was a home from home and far exceeded our expectations. It is very well equipped with everything you could need. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and even provided treats for the dog. We cannot recommend The Ramblers highly enough.

Mum and I had very good time at this property.

Very good and helpful hosts,and their dogs very good too.I was impressed by their lovely back garden which we was allowed to use too.we.Small negatives but hopefully constructive feedback include bathroom door would not lock or shut properly.(I was with my mum).Steps outside lounge door very high and awkward with some loose brickwork(too dangerous to use for my elderly mum and her elderly dog).We kept that door locked and used the main doorway so not too much of a problem.Positives include my mum slept well in very comfy bed and lovely bedroom and we didn't want for anything during our stay.My sofa bed was quite good too.We both felt ring bell was a GOOD thing to have on the property for safety and security reasons.

On arrival we were greeted by the friendly owners.

Everything was explained in detail and they had left us milk, cookies and some dog treats. The Annexe was home from home and cosy and comfortable with a secure garden for the dog to roam free. A perfect wooden swing ideal for an evening tipple. It was also lovely that we had common ground with the owners as they came from the same town as us. We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend this cottage.

Our second visit to the ramblers but definitely won’t be our last ideal location for exploring the surrounding areas the owners were really friendly and nothing is too much trouble if you need anything

The Ramblers Annexe is a great place to stay.

It is very comfortable and well equipped. Steve and Catherine are very welcoming as is their daughter Gemma and their two dogs. The location is good for seeing lots of different places in Norfolk before coming back to relax in the garden.

We had a wonderful week enjoying nice weather in their garden. Visiting the Bure Railway to Wroxham and Norwich Cathedral and meeting up with friend’s. Our dog Mabel loved being around Toby and Poppy the family dogs. See you next year!

Accommodation clean and tidy, nice large bathroom with walk on shower.

Ample parking with 3kw car charging point available. Our stay was in February so weather not the best with numerous roads flooded. However that did not spoil our stay in Norfolk. Hospitable hosts with very friendly dogs. A big thanks to our hosts.

We found Ramblers Annexe delightful.

It was not wanting for anything. Catherine even offered to look after our fur baby while we went for a meal. The welcome pack was extremely generous and accommodation was clean and comfortable and deserves 5 stars.

We have been coming here for quite a few years now and each stay is just as good as the last. It's like a home from home, everything is supplied for all your needs, even down to treats for the dog. The property is cosy, comfortable and warm, all in all a great place to stay. For the owners, Catherine, Steve and Gemma, nothing is too much trouble, anything you need you only have to ask.

Steve,Catherine and Gemma are wonderful hosts. The property is well equipped. Loved the Tassimo machine! As a dog friendly accommodation, this gets the gold medal. We had a lovely week here and would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely comfortable cottage.

Probably the best equipped cottage we've stayed in. The hosts go in & out doing shift work but we didn't hear them although the bedroom windows were open due to the weather. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone with a dog and we're hoping to return in the future.

After a long journey, we were met with a lovely friendly welcome from our hosts.

The Annex was comfy and is in a very central location. We found it ideal in order to explore the surrounding villages and towns, with ease. Our reactive dog was soon relaxed and exploring the garden. Toby and Poppy were very gentle with her, and our hosts were very understanding, allowing her to join in at her own pace.

If you like helicopter hosts who go about their daily lives literally in your face, disturbing your peace and tranquility at all hours of the day.

If you would like to holiday in a gravel car park with your hosts Driving and parking their vehicles in and out of it, which happens to be inches away from your bedroom day and night. If you like your ‘private’ space to be invaded by the hosts walking inches away from your window on their many excursions to and from their home. If you are not looking for a relaxing or romantic holiday for you and your pets. If you don’t mind being an uninvited guest into conversations held by hosts the other side of your paid space, if you have no expectations about the presentation and disgusting conditions of the bathroom. If you’re not expecting a hot shower on a regular basis and not expecting any response from the hosts if you do complain then this granny flat is perfect for you! We have never paid to stay anywhere more unsuitable for a relaxing holiday than this! So beware! Don’t be fooled by the gushing feedback you have been warned! Look elsewhere! Norfolk is wonderful but we had to cut short our annual 10 day holiday to come home for a decent undisturbed nights sleep…

We were warmly welcomed and personally shown around enabling us to ask questions about how things worked and about facilities in the area.

Our dog very much appreciated having the run of the garden and meeting the three resident collies. We found the annex very comfortable and suitable for our needs, being elderly! It had everything we needed, plus excellent hosts.

We found the Ramblers Annex extremely comfortable,clean, spacious and very well equipped.

We were greeted warmly and even offered to look after our dog if need be as she is unable to walk too far. By the end of the year we will have been in 19 Sykes cottages, over a period of years. We would say The Ramblers would be in the first 4. Catherine, Steve and Gemma must be doing something right, believe they are nearly fully booked. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Absolutely lovely place to stay, the owners where incredibly helpful nothing too much trouble the annex had everything that you could need they had even upgraded the double bed to a king size so comfy.

This was an absolute treat for us!

Very central for visiting. It had everything, really warm and homely. The Swan in Matishall does good food as does the chip shop but the kitchen is very well equipped if you prefer cooking. The owners couldn't do enough for us

This property is perfect as a base for dog owners exploring the many attractions of Norfolk.

Very dog friendly accommodation in a central location. The accommodation is spacious and attractive, with good facilities and welcoming owners who make every effort to ensure you have a comfortable stay. The village is charming and has good basic facilities. Located within a short drive of the A47 the whole of Norfolk is easily accessible by car. We will certainly return.

We have stayed at The Ramblers four times now so I think that says it all.

It's our home from home and we are always made welcome. Everything you need is here, such a warm, cosy place to stay and central to all the attractions which Norfolk has to offer. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely holiday at the Ramblers Annex.

We were made very welcome by the owners, along with our little dog. The accommodation was extremely well equipped and the log burner made for cosy nights in. Sadly the local pub was closed for some reason, but we found plenty of eateries in Dereham. The garden was enclosed so very dog friendly and plenty of local walks too. We would definitely recommend a stay here.

The annex is in a lovely location for exploring the Norfolk countryside and especially suitable if you have a dog.

The owners could not be more helpful and had thought of everything you could possibly need. In fact, it is the best equipped property I have ever stayed in. There is plenty of safe space outside to relax in and I enjoyed returning to the comfort of the annex after a day's exploring.

Comfy cottage. Everything you need provided. The recommendations for places to eat were very good. Pretty villages and country walks. Our dog was made welcome and made friends with their dogs. Plenty of room for two people. Would go again.

A lovely quiet rural location.

Hospitality and cleanliness superb, with a lot of thought and attention to detail going into the experience for the guests from very welcoming, kind and thoughtful owners. The cottage is really well equipped with everything you could need and more. I wish all hotels /guesthouses could offer this level of personable service. A brilliant holiday, we will definitely be returning in the not too distant future. This is a little gem, a terrific find. Highly recommended.

A exceptionally comfortable property to stay in.

Extremely well equipped: the owners have thought of every possible requirement of visitors. Although presented as dog friendly there was absolutely no negative evidence of previous pet occupation so none dog owners like myself need have no reservations about booking it. The only negative point was that the external areas to the frontage, including the main view from the living area, are currently marred by shabby planting rather at odds with the immaculate interior. Even allowing for recent droughts these areas need some serious upgrading and TLC. The wider garden areas are delightful with ample provision for sitting out and eating. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful and it makes an excellent centre for exploring the whole of Norfolk and Norwich because it’s very accessible to the main road network.

Great place to stay.

I was house hunting and could have made it my new home.

We had a great week at the Ramblers.

The cottage was very comfortable and the owners were very welcoming. It was obvious that they had put a lot of thought into providing items which sometimes people overlook when packing such as torches and umbrellas. They even provided spare raincoats. The cottage is very well equipped should you wish to cook your own meals. The owners were very informative regarding where local produce could be found near by, places of interest etc. The purpose of our visit was for cycling. The cottage was well placed for this as it enabled us to ride on quiet country lanes straight from the cottage. The owners were very accommodating with our cycles and especially made room in their locked shed so that they safe and out of sight. Overall, the Ramblers is a very nice place to stay and I would definitely return if in the area again.

Our third visit to The Ramblers and it is like coming home, such a lovely, warm welcome from the owners Catherine, Steve and Gemma and the dogs, Bailey, Toby and puppy Poppy.

We lacked for nothing in this cosy, comfortable, clean property and would happily recommend it to anyone wanting a holiday in Norfolk. It's ideally placed in a quiet lane and within easy reach of Mattishall village, the city and the coast. We will be back!

Shown and explained how things worked and where to find items. The annex was warm, comfortable and clean. Tea, coffee,sugar,milk,biscuits, jam and doggie treats all available. Wonderful dog friendly holiday cottage set in the quiet countryside of Norfolk but only 5 minutes from the A47 from which you are only 50 minutes from the Wonderful Norfolk coast.

Our hosts were extremely helpful and obliging. If you have a pooch you will love this dog friendly county.

The property was immaculate, spacious and warm with everything you need and Alfie our dog enjoyed the large gardens and meeting the owners dogs.

It was very comfortable, clean and really quiet at night. The family were helpful and friendly with any inquiries, specially Kathryn and most of all Gemma who loved our little dog Bella to bits.

Sadly the weather was against us with heavy rain & 2 named storms during our week in Norfolk !

However the annex was a warm, cosy & well equipped base to stay, in a convenient central location for touring the area. The owners were lovely & always available for help & advice if required. They also made our spaniel feel very much at home & spoiled him rotten ! A lovely restful week despite the atrocious weather.

The Annex was warm, clean and fully equipped with everything that we needed. Catherine made us feel very welcome from day one and Gemma was a pure delight along with Toby and Bailey their dogs. Its a great base for the beautiful dog walks and the beaches are all in a good distance away. We were very impressed how nice everyone was especially the local pub The Swan. . our dog was made really welcome, we didn’t explore the walls locally as we had a tight schedule for other visits but there are some lovely walks .. the facilities are super! The place is beautifully presented and cosy! We’ll definitely book again

The annexe was one of the best holiday accommodation we have stayed in.

It was warm comfortable and had every conceiveable accessory that you might need. The hosts were very helpful and approachable. Ideally situated for the main tourist attractions.

Our stay at the Ramblers Annex was fantastic.

The only issue was that we didn't book to stay longer ! The Annex is well located for exploring Norfolk and everything you could need is provided so you just need to add food and wine! The Annex was quiet, warm and comfortable. The owners are lovely and their dogs are so gentle and friendly. We have booked for two weeks next year and will continue to return as it is perfect for us when visiting our family.

The Ramblers Annex has everything you need for a self catering break in Norfolk.

It is centrally located, is comfortable, clean and so well equipped. The owners house is attached and they are helpful with advice on the surrounding area and places to visit. The village of Mattisall is within walking distance but does take about 30 mins. Would recommend the Swan Inn for dinner but make sure you are hungry as they are very generous with their portions! Would definitely recommend.

Although it is dog friendly there was no sign or smell of dogs. There was a garden attached that we could use if wanted . Overall a very good experience.

Although we would definitely recommend The Rambler’s Annexe to friends and family, unfortunately we will not be retuning as it’s such a long and difficult drive from home.

The Ramblers was a very comfortable place to stay and we had a great week there.

Everything we needed was provided and it was very spacious for two people. The utility room was a great bonus with a full size fridge freezer which is not always the case with holiday cottages. There was also plenty of storage provided. Great shower also with instant hot water.

Very well equipped, comfortable and well appointed accommodation. We were made to feel at home from the start with full use of the gardens. Will definitely go back. Having a utility room was very handy for jackets and boots. Many thoughtful touches including a cake and flowers on arrival and even a jar of treats for the dog. Ada (the dog) was very sad to leave.

What a wonderful bolt hole in the Norfolk countryside.

Gemma and her family made us all very welcome.Our greyhound loved the enclosed garden in which she had a wonderful time running round with their dogs.She also made herself at home in Toby’s dog bed when she had the opportunity to sneak in the door! The cottage is better equipped than our house at home-didn’t want for anything.Very warm and cosy & very very clean.We have stayed in many cottages in the last 20 odd years and I can honestly say,this outweighs all of them! Thoroughly recommended.

This property was our first dog friendly cottage experience and we were so pleased with the quality of the accommodation, the facilities and cleanliness of the cottage. It was so warm and comfortable it made our holiday really enjoyable. Our dog loved running with Toby, one of the owners' collie dogs. We'd definitely stay here again. We rate this place very highly.

They had two fantastic dogs who were gentle, friendly and made our stay. We were left tea, coffee, milk and a lovely cake in the fridge for our arrival. We had a truly wonderful holiday in this beautiful accommodation. It was spotless and extremely comfortable; we couldn’t fault it.

This is a super cottage - REALLY well equipped and the family very friendly and kind

A fantastic location for us, being 20 minutes outside of the centre of Norwich in a country lane about a mile outside of the village of Mattishall with the village shop, pub and excellent cafe, Tabnabs.

The cottage was well stocked with everything we could need and was clean and comfortable, easily accommodating the 2 of us. The property has a good sized garden with a couple of dogs who although we are not dog owners, we found to be very friendly. A very useful Information folder and lots to see and do in the area being under an hour to Cromer and to Blickley Estate for days out. The owners have been very thoughtful in their preparation of the property which suited our needs 100% and we would definitely recommend.

It was a lovely place to stay, and very comfortable,and good hosts.

The only one criticism I had, is the dogs mess. We like dogs, but not the mess ! We had to be careful whenever we went out to the car, not to tread in any on the gravel driveway. I think the garden area could be easily gated, to keep the dogs from the driveway, and so free of dog mess. It was a nice base to explore from.

This is just the most perfect hideaway.

The cottage is very clean and extremely well furnished and equipped along with a large garden that is dog safe. The owners Kate & Steve, now have two great dogs who made friends with our cocker Ralph so all were happy. Although it was the worst week for weather in Norfolk for years it didn't stop us being totally comfortable here. We are already planning to go back, perhaps when there is less water falling from the sky so we can use the BBQ that is there for visitors use. This is a top rate cottage in a fine area of our country. Thank you Kate, Steve and Gemma for your friendship and hospitality, and not forgetting Harley, Baily and Toby.

Excellent facilities, everything thought of down to specific recycling and maps / walks of the local area.

It was home from home with friendly hosts and extras such as milk cake and fresh flowers. It was warm and cozy at perfectly situated for National Trust properties, coastal walks or a trip to Great Yarmouth and the Broads. There were plenty of places to eat out but the annex was equipped for full cooking and even cake baking. As the lay out is open plan it would suitable for the less mobile and certainly for dog lovers as the owner currently has three border collies and you can make use of the huge garden. All in all a well located and equipped annex for a peaceful and relaxing holiday with passionate and considerate hosts. Throughly enjoyed!

Steve, Catherine and Gemma gave us a warm and friendly welcome, and introduced us to the cottage.

Never intrusive but always available, they are the perfect hosts. Toby the Border Collie pup was elated to see us every time we came back from a day out. The cottage has everything, and is a very homely and comfortable place to stay. Silent nights and good sleeps are guaranteed.

The owners of the cottage, Steve & Catherine & Gemma were extremely welcoming and friendly.

They provided so many extra touches such as towelling robes, fresh flowers, cake, milk etc. The location of the The Ramblers Annexe is perfect it’s quiet and pretty and just a short car journey from many neighbouring villages and costal resorts. We will definitely be back here and will recommend it to our friends & family - especially those with dogs. We didn’t want to come home!

We were looking for a cosy, quiet retreat and this was perfect. The big supermarket isn't far away to get your weekly shop, but it is still very peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is well equipped and we had access to our own heating system too, as well as the wood burning stove. We really enjoyed our stay at the Ramblers and will recommend to our friends.

What a fantastic little place!

It literally had everything you could want/need, it was so great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer especially in this weather! There was washing powder and dishwasher tablets and they’d even got spare waterproofs, coats and dog leads if needed. I got a lovely surprise welcome package with tea, coffee, milk and even a lovely cake! Steve & Catherine were fab and so welcoming, they were happy to help and suggest great things to do and places to visit. The separate entrance is great as you don’t feel like you’re imposing. My dog is currently sulking with me because we’ve come home and she’s missing charging around their huge garden and playing with the gorgeous Bailey & Harvey. It’s been a really amazing week exploring new places but with all the comforts of home. We’ll definitely be coming back to stay x

We’ve spent a lovely and relaxing week at the Ramblers.

The annexe was beautiful, well equipped for all our needs and had a really nice personal touch to it. Steve, Catherine and their daughter Gemma gave us a warm hello on the night we arrived and they have been amazingly helpful all throughout the week. Their two extremily kind border collies, Harvey and Bailey, became our border collie Logan’s best friends, running around and putting up with an adolescent bouncy doggie like him. The annexe is about five minutes from the A47 and therefore very well connected to Norwich and the whole Norfolk coast. Perfect place to spend time relaxing and exploring around, we can not recommend it enough. We had a great time and we’ll definitely come back. Antonella, Peter and Logan.

This was our second visit to The Ramblers and once again we got a friendly greeting.

The couple and their daughter were very sociable as before. We never had any interruptions and were allowed to get on and do our own thing. Last time we went in June we didn't have a dog, but this time we went with our 11 month old puppy and she got on extremely well with their two dogs Harvey and Bailey. Good time had by all. Found that if you needed anything extra, they were only too happy to oblige. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.

I could park the car just outside the cottage and there was only two little steps to enter so as I have a walking difficulties this made my holiday a lot more enjoyable. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with lots crockery and cutlery. The cottage is in a great area to get around Norfolk soon at the coast or the boards with lots to visit on the way.

Steve and Kate were extremely welcoming and we never wanted for anything.

Very friendly as was their Daughter and it was lovely to have their two dogs about the place, as we had recently lost our own. They were quick to rectify anything that we felt was missing or not quite right and never intruded and only came into the property if we invited them in. Would recommend The Ramblers to anyone who wanted to stay in a nice friendly and cosy accommodation. Will definitely be going there again.

All three of us, includes our dog, were made really welcome. The accommodation exceeded expectations and was furnished with all life's little requirements. Including spare dog leads, water proof jackets and trousers. A return holiday is very much on the cards.

We had the most warmest welcome from Stephen, Catherine &Gemma they made us feel like it was home from home.

Both myself & my wife have been quite a few cottages but the best about this one was the size of the garden, plus the cottage had all the utensils you could think of, nothing was too much trouble and they made both our dogs feel welcome also especially Gemma who even offered to look after them if we wished to go out, we will definitely be booking again, 10 out of 10 .

Despite the weather, we had an enjoyable and restful holiday at The Ramblers' Annex.

It was good to shut out the wind and rain and enjoy the comfort of the wood burning stove. The kitchen was very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need....and more! (Maybe a little too much of some items!) We chose this cottage because it is very well placed for visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties, plus Norwich, the coast and many nature reserves. All were easily accessible and it was good to have OS maps etc provided to help plan the daily trips. We enjoyed many different experiences, from seeing the opulence of the stately homes, the interesting history of Great Yarmouth, watching wildlife in reserves and at EH sites such as Castle Acre and going down the vertical mine shaft at Grimes Graves in the Breckland, something we didn't think we would do in our mid- 70s! The very friendly and helpful owners and their daughter were always asking if we had everything we needed and were quick to provide anything that was required. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage, especially to dog owners as there are two friendly collies on site, the large garden is mainly lawn and dog towels are provided in the utility room.....a canine heaven!

We had a very warm welcome from Gemma when we arrived at Ramblers Annexe, the cottage was clean and very comfortable and with the best equipped kitchen we have come across, also having a full size fridge freezer and a dishwasher was a big plus.

Everyone in the family loves dogs so being able to let our Lurcher Beau potter around the secure garden and play with the resident collies was lovely. The location is very good, not being far from coast, Broads, Dereham or Norwich. We would love to return some time and would definitely recommend to family and friends. The annexe was nice and clean and it was great to receive a cake, milk and breakfast items.

The owners gave me a pleasant welcome and gave me space thereafter, which I liked. I thought the decor was cosy and the annexe was obviously taken care of. There was a slight ant issue in the bathroom, which I found uncomfortable and there was a delay in getting this sorted, which was slightly disappointing as I felt it should have been done straight away. A few suggestions from my experience would be: providing an indoor recycling bin; ensuring there's washing tablets (I couldn't find any, only dishwasher tablets _ I thought they were provided as per Information Pack); cleaning the cutlery tray (though cutlery was spotless); putting a deep fitted sheet on the bed as it kept coming off; ensuring the dogs don't bark at unsociable hours - one evening, I had just got to sleep and there was barking near the annexe, including right by the window where the bed was at 10:15pm. Thankfully, it only happened once and was for little over 5 minutes. Also, (and I know it can't be helped) but the unsociable hours worked by the owners really disrupted my sleep. I was woken in the small hours by the car on the gravel and once it was twice between 2am and 6am. I could hear some noise through the wall around tea time once (calling someone) and I think there are pests in the loft as there were scuttling sounds above. A net curtain in the bedroom where the bed is would also add to the feeling of privacy - I just kept the curtains closed. It's good to keep the bathroom blind down as I was once in the bathroom and someone walked past - slight panic! You can't see in though! I didn't really like having to keep on opening and closing the gate, but I guess you get used to it...unless it's tipping down with rain?! Overall, it was well-equipped, in a good location for walkers, and the wood burner was a really nice aspect. Tips: a sat nav would be recommended for locating the annexe at night, as I did get lost once! Mind the puddles (big)! It has good to access Dereham and Norwich via the A47 and Dereham is a good little town just 5.7 miles away.

We were given such a warm welcome at Ramblers Cottage.

The accommodation was clean and beautifully equipped and those little extra touches like the cake on the dining table when we arrived after a long journey made are stay so special. Our dog, Tigger, loved it as well.

Upon arrival at the Ramblers' Annex, we received a very warm welcome from Steve and family.

We were given a full tour of the property and it was obvious that nothing would be too much trouble - all we needed to do was ask if we needed anything. The annex is extremely clean and comfortable and very well equipped. The location is very quiet and lovely with shops, pub and other amenities within walking distance. The fish and chip shop in the village is definitely worth a visit! We chose the Ramblers' annex because it looked comfortable and because of it's location and we weren't disappointed. It provides an excellent base for visiting all the National Trust properties in the area as well as lots of other tourist attractions in Norfolk. There is also lots of walking to be done around the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Norfolk and would have no hesitation in returning to the Ramblers'.

Very cosy and warm we did not even need the central heating as we just had the wood burner on instead. Also unlike some places there was a plentiful supply of logs - not that we needed that many. Steve and his daughter Gemma were very friendly and welcoming and I would highly recommend this property.
