Keepers Cottage

Keepers Cottage is a very well kept and clean house.

Internet is intermittent. The garden is ideal for dogs. Beds are comfortable 2 bedrooms are in the loft space very low ceilings .The Ploughshare in the village is excellent good food and service nice atmosphere .The Workhouse is worth a visit.

Just got home after a lovely 2 week stay at the cottage.

Although remote, it was a perfect little spot in rural north Norfolk. The locals in the Ploughshare pub were friendly and welcoming; lots of walks in the immediate area and peaceful evenings. The cottage would benefit from a wardrobe or two, and more drawer space in the bedrooms, and having 3 dogs with us, I would have welcomed a long handled brush for indoor and outdoor use. Hoovering the hard kitchen floor felt wrong! We missed local amenities - there is no local store for convenience but the closest town has an abundance of shops to suit all tastes so it just meant planning in a little more detail. Overall, a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday in a beautiful part of the world.

This is the third time we have stayed at this property.

Each time the cleanliness and facilities have been first class. The enclosed garden is ideal for our two small dogs and the hot tub was well used (but not by the dogs). Another reviewer mention excessive barking from dogs on the farm but we didn’t experience any noise from the farm. The road leading to the cottage is just a dirt track but not a problem if taken slowly. My wife is diabetic and left her ketone monitor in the property when we left. I would like to thank the owners who found it and returned it in the post. We received it the next day. A lovely place to stay and we will probably return in the future.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Keepers Cottage!

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. The cottage is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect—peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery, yet still well placed to explore the whole of Norfolk. The attention to detail throughout the cottage really stood out, from the comfortable furnishings to the thoughtful little touches that made our stay extra special. The hosts were fantastic: friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help while giving us complete privacy. It's clear they genuinely care about making sure guests have the best possible experience. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next visit. We couldn't recommend Keepers Cottage highly enough—it's a true gem and deserves every one of its five stars!

Cottage is lovely but a little way from anything which was ideal for us.

Garden was large and enclosed so great for our dog. Owner was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone.

The house is nicely equipped and in good order.

The garden is large and secure for the pets. Peaceful location in the middle of nowhere, perfect for getting away from it all with most attractions reached in around an hour.

Keepers Cottage is well equipped with a good central heating system, a wood burning stove, hot tub, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and an enormous private fenced off garden area that our dogs loved.

We used the stove with the supplied logs each evening to create a cosy atmosphere. The local pub is excellent with friendly staff. The White Swan in nearby Gressenhall is worth a visit. The access road is muddy. We used the outside tap (with a hot water outlet) to hose off the labrador.

A great cottage, just what we needed, away from everything.

Everything was set up for us to have a fantastic stay. I would suggest that you might provide a hair dryer, as we used the hot tub everyday or night! Also a few staples like kitchen towel and cling film. A great place we will be recommending and hopefully coming back soon.

Perfect family Xmas .

Downstairs bedroom and bathroom ideal for elderly . Upstairs large master bedroom and twin bedded room with shower room. The hosts left enough logs for the week and a big hamper of goodies and bubbles. The hottub was the warmest way to spend some time during the cold days and some stargazing at night. Our two dogs has a wonderful time running around the well enclosed garden. We would definitely love to stay again.

Loved the location & the large secure garden was perfect for the dogs.

The cottage was clean & well equipped with pots & pans. It could benefit from having more than one serving of cutlery (knives, forks & spoons). The kitchen & lounge were spacious & very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom & bathroom had an unusual layout, in so much you had to go through the lounge, kitchen & hallway to access the bathroom which was a bit inconvenient during the night. However both bathrooms had great showers. The upstairs bedrooms were in the roof space so getting to the double bed in particular was a little cumbersome as you couldn’t walk full height. The heating system was very efficient & even on a cold wet November weekend we didn’t need to make use of the wood burning stove. We didn’t make use of the hot tub until the 2nd night. It had only been set to 32 degrees so we were only able to stay in it for a very short time. We fiddled with the temperature hoping by the following morning it would have increased. Unbeknown to us we had put it into sleep mode so the temp hadn’t improved. We got in touch with the owners who responded quickly to resolve the issue & by the afternoon we were able to fully enjoy the hot tub, which was ideal. Overall, a few niggles but location, space & cleanliness made up for it. An enjoyable weekend.

This is the second time at Keeper’s Cottage, it didn’t disappoint.

A lovely relaxing place to stay. The hot tub is wonderful. The owners are quick to respond to any queries.

Ideal for our needs- with 2 dogs.

Good walks and excellent enclosed garden. We have booked a return visit in 2026.

Second visit to keepers cottage and enjoyed our stay just as much as the first time, lovely quiet setting, great garden and hot tub

Fabulous location, despite the farm track access which we found to be perfectly good; bumpy but potholes filled and hedges restrained!

The local village pub is community run and super friendly with amazing food; booking recommended. Excellent as a base for both North and Mid Norfolk touristing.

Our second stay at the cottage, very enjoyable yet again.

A perfect location for relaxing, especially if you have dogs. Take advantage of the fully secure garden, and/or use the cottage as a base from which to explore the fantastic surrounding area.

Cannot fault the facilities in the cottage, plenty of equipment to use for cooking, nice to have a good size kitchen table to sit on considering there were 6 of us.

The quietness around the cottage was perfect and the hot tub was great! Although too much chlorine so had to wait to get into it. The garden was big enough for our dog and he couldn’t escape! We had a lot of flies in the place, as soon as we opened up we were bombarded and as much as we were getting rid they were coming back. Maybe a good search is needed inside the house for discarded food that are not at eye level? The track leading to the cottage was really awkward, especially if you love your car! Quite a few pot holes and lots of thorny branches sticking out. Not local to anything so be prepared but we knew that on booking. All in all a nice time with the family

Lovely cottage ,would have preferred it a bit further away from farm as dogs do run off lead.

Tom was very helpful.

Best equiped cottage we have ever stayed at (35+ years.

Very quiet and comfortable. Would use again if holydaying in the area in the future.

Me and two friends and 3 dogs stayed there.

Keepers cottage had a lovely secure garden. We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, had every thing we needed and felt like home. Only 1 draw back was the track up to the cottage but not enough to upset our stay.

It was a lovely stay, very clean and tidy!

We with stayed with 3 dogs and they had a great time and the place had all the facilities to make the trip even more enjoyable!

Amazing cottage and perfect for our weekend getaway.

The garden was stunning and my dogs loved it, very quiet and peaceful and the hot tub was just what we needed at the end of the day, very well equipped kitchen and we cooked a lovely roast on the Sunday. We are already planning on coming back to keepers cottage again.

The cottage worked perfectly for our stay.

Every facility we could wish for. The hot tub and mirror tv wowed the Grandchildren just a great place to return to after exploring the beaches, BeWILDer Wood, Sandringham to name a few.

A lovely cottage.

Very spacious, clean and comfortable. My family and I enjoyed ourselves so much we would like to return again.

What an amazing cottage we all loved our stay Surrounded by countryside but close to the coast.

The hot tub was amazing after a day out walking our dog loved the big garden to run about in. The log burner on the evening of it gets chilly is perfect. Only thing we would change is the bed upstairs is very noisy can’t move an inch without waking up. If we ever come back to Norfolk this would be our first place to try and stay.

The house and area around were excellent.

Very clean, very comfortable. We will be back and will definitely recommend to others.

Excellent cottage.

Was spotless and had everything you could think of to make the stay good. We had a little issue with the hot tub (which was our fault) and Sarah answered and advised us straight away. The hot tub is fantastic and the log burner is a real bonus. The cottage is in a very quiet and peaceful spot and we heard very little outside noise and we came home totally relaxed. Thank you Sarah, we would definitely come again. The road to the property is very uneven so take care and drive slowly

Lovely comfortable cottage, very clean.

We enjoyed our Christmas break. Had a slight issue with WiFi on the first night, but property owner was very helpful at looking into this and we had no further issues. Would benefit from having a few basics supplied, especially with the location. No hand soap in one of the bathrooms. No tea towels. No Cleaning products, a kitchen surface spray would have been beneficial. Hairdryer would be a bonus.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location.

Big gardens which were safe for my 3 dogs to run free, hot tub was a great addition. Lovely and quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at keeper’s cottage and will definitely return and recommend

Lovely property well maintained and clean.

Garden was great and our small dogs didn’t manage to escape. We found it chilly at times and couldn’t seem to alter the heating. Hot tub was lovely but no lights in that area made it unusable after 6. Cot, stair-gates and high chair much appreciated and all there ready. Appreciated the logs and we got kindling from the garden. All appliances easy to use and bathroom tv a real luxury. No real gripes except a non slip bath mat would have been nice for the baby and the oldie.

It was a lovely clean cottage, had everything you need, dogs were safe and secure in the garden, big area to run around in, we enjoyed our break away and would recommend to anyone, would definitely go back

Perfect accommodation.

no major faults . observations . supply slip matts in the bathrooms. lable the hot tub outside light switch .highlight no need for WiFi passwords or for netfix and prime video . The owners were lovely and accommodating.highly recommended

A fabulous cottage, very clean, comfy and in a great location.

Dog friendly garden was great for our dog, lots of room to run around and all safely enclosed. A great stay and we will definitely book to come back.

Fantastic cottage, clean and modern with lovely surroundings.

We had everything we needed and would thoroughly recommend a stay here to anyone considering it. It was a great base for us to explore the north coast of Norfolk, Sandringham was also a great day out, and just relaxing at the cottage was nice too. The kids loved the hot tub, the dogs loved the big garden for zoomies and chilling in the sun. A downstairs bedroom for Granny was so so helpful, as was having 2 bathrooms. We all had a wonderful holiday and would definitely come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at Keeper’s Cottage.

Lovely cottage and grounds, in a fantastic location. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for the dogs, adding to the relaxing nature of the property as we could let them roam without worrying about them. An ideal location for relaxing, especially for walkers and/or cyclists. We would/will happily return in future.

Property was clean, well equipped, tidy, nice hot tub and garden.

The biggest criticism was the farm track to the cottage. It was heavily pot holed which wasn’t mentioned in your description. Max speed was 2-5mph if you value your car! Only one place you could possibly pull in, if needed, but I would not have been prepared to reverse for anyone given the horrendous amount of pot holes! One or two negative issues, we chose ground floor bedroom accommodation because I have mobility issues, but the foam mattress was not comfortable to sleep on and made the bed low so not easy to get up from. It’s personal choice in terms of foam v sprung mattresses but not one I would choose. No hanging space in ground floor bedroom. The sink drain in ground floor bathroom was very slow draining and the stopper was difficult to work and needs to be looked at. Instructions for cooker would have been useful although we obviously managed. I wouldn’t choose this cottage again, only because of the dreadful pot holed farm track and the uncomfortable bed. Given the distance to any shops, a small welcome package would have been a nice touch.

Just got back from a wonderful peaceful stay at Keepers cottage.

I had read a review about dog barking but we had no problem at all. Yes the neighbouring farm has dogs but only ever heard occasional bark and certainly no more than my own dogs. Considering that it's a working farm next door, it was very quiet. Just loved listening to the bird song in the garden while in the hot tub. The garden is beautiful and a small bit of woodland in it, which was great for the dogs to explore. The whole garden is enclosed so even my chihuahuas couldn't escape. There's a lot to do in the area. Sandringham is only 30 mins away and Wells beach about 40 mins. The cottage was comfortable and we loved the ice making fridge freezer. I'm sure we will be back. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Amazing place to stay with family & dogs, has everything you need for a relaxing week.

The enclosed garden is perfect for the dogs. You can feel totally relaxed whilst at the property.

We hated it that much we ended up leaving a day early.

All you hear from the owners dog was bark bark bark bark bark bark bark bark. My dogs I had with me were silent and totally bemused at the show. You work hard all year to have a holiday and some peace and quiet. I won't be back or recommending it ,or sykes.

Very good stay.

Clean, tidy, well appointed.

A well equipped and comfortable cottage in a very quiet and peaceful countryside location.

The enclosed garden was a bonus for young children and our dog and of course the hot tub was enjoyed by all.

Amazing ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stunning cottage.

Well equipped, super amazing large kitchen. Hot tub was fantastic. The garden our dogs loved, well secured, lovely big garden with a forestry added exploratory woodland at the back of the garden to keep the dogs busy searching around. Still fully enclosed. Log burner was stunning cosy and so relaxing. Downstairs bathroom wow

The cottage was beautiful.

We enjoyed our stay so much we did not want to leave. The hot tub was amazing. The kitchen was fully equipped and exceptional.

A beautiful cottage, very well equipped.

Beds super comfy. Wood burner is fabulous. The hot tub is lovely, however in the winter months you need lights that are bright and clear, a little dangerous in the gloom of winter. Sadly due to the awful weather we could not use the garden or the many walks in the surrounding area. I would warn tall people to take care with the low ceiling upstairs. We had a wonderful time sitting in front of the fire warm and cosy. If not for the rain the dogs would have loved the garden.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation and location.

I can't fault a thing!! Powerful showers, comfortable beds, snuggly bedding, luxury fittings and fixtures, friendly and polite host. 100% recommended to others. The Plough Share, pub was divine with great food and servers. Nearest Chinese does deliver, however, this is a 40minute drive away. So it's worth heating up some plates and warming the oven for arrival. Yummy food though. So I'm not complaining at all! Over all. Top notch, thankyou.

The cottage was extremely well appointed and comfortable.

Felt like home from the moment we stepped through the door. The location was perfect for allowing us to unworld ourselves for a few days. Only criticism was the lack of lighting around the hot tub for the evening, especially as the lights in the tub were also not working. That said, we've already said we'd go back

A superb cottage kept immaculately clean.

A few minor issues that were resolved immediately .

This is the second time we have stayed at the property.

Some very minor comments we made last year have been acted upon. We have two dogs and they loved running around in the huge enclosed garden.

We really enjoyed our stay at Keepers Cottage.

The kitchen was really well appointed with some great quality cooking implements and equipment. Our party included a baby just 11 months old and great grandma at 89 years old and two dogs. A minor problem was that we found the wooden doors somewhat noisy to open and close quietly. We would have liked some sort of rail to hang clothes on in all bedrooms rather than the back of the doors. A mirror in the upstairs garden bedroom would have been great. We agreed to pay a weekly fee of £50 for electric vehicle recharging out of courtesy although there was no mention of this in the listing prior to booking. In our opinion this needs to be addressed prior to arrival at the cottage. There wasn't much free refuse and recycling bin space and it would have been nice to know that we had to supply our own bin liners. All in all a great location and a great property which made for a lovely holiday.

A beautiful cottage in a rural setting with a fantastic secure garden and a hot tub!

!!! Most of the daylight hours were spent out there The cottage was beautifully equipped and up to a high standard Rooms and beds were lovely The owner was most helpful and this is very on our list for a return visit

Lovely home and garden , very clean and tidy.

Would suggest a mirror in master bedroom near power point to do hair and make-up. Incomplete instructions of blue tooth on top of fridge, operating instructions of hot tub.( safety instructions are there but not operating)

Stayed for a week with my friends and dogs.

The house was lovely and well laid out. The owners were really helpful and came out to help with a minor issue (none of us could fit the baby gate!), with no concerns about coming straight away, the garden was secure and plenty big enough for the dogs. The local community pub was welcoming and accommodating, had a great night with the manager and locals. Wish we had used the hot tub more, but waited till the last night! I would recommend this as a good and comfortable home from home and would stay again.

The cottage was very clean, we enjoyed the hot tub, log burner and the garden was larger than expected.

As keen walkers, we were only disappointed with the limited public rights of way.

Everything was perfect.

Great place to take dogs, Everything was secure. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Will definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage, well equipped, and great location for exploring north Norfolk.

Dogs loved the garden. The pub in the village was very welcoming and dog friendly, and the food was delicious ! No welcome pack though so don't forget your milk :)

Very nice comfortable cottage plenty of space very well equipped also large garden

Beautiful cottage with an amazing garden in a lovely rural location.

So peaceful and quiet. Very comfortable including the beds. Would definately plan to return.

We loved the hot tub.

That was fantastic. We loved the TV screens all over the cottage. We loved the area. Amazing. The main thing against the cottage was the bedrooms. There were no proper wardrobes to hang up our clothes. The main bedroom was so low and kept us banging our heads getting out of beds. The beds were not very comfortable either. Sorry but the cottage is NOT worth as a 5 star.

Lovely holiday cottage in a quiet peaceful location.

Facilities excellent, really spacious garden that the kids loved and hot tub an added bonus.

We stayed here last year also, so that is the best recommendation that I could give.

The facilities are excellent and most importantly the dog loves it here as well.

We had fabulous holiday at Keepers cottage.

Loved the fact that it was so quiet and secluded, our two dogs really enjoyed the spacious garden too. The cottage was well equipped, clean and very homely. We stayed during the July heatwave so loved the fridge with its ice making facility. The hot tub is a great extra to the cottage. We would definitely come back here.

Had a fabulous time in lovely surroundings.

Perfect garden for our dog and so much to do in the area. The hot tub was a welcomed bonus.

Minor niggles: Could benefit from an umbrella over the patio table.

We requested a stairgate for the bottom of the stairs (to stop the dogs going upstairs) but the design was not suitable for that location as to fit the gate correctly puts too much sideways pressure on the newel post and could cause damage. We used a bungee cord to hold the gate in position. Suggest investigating an alternate design. Positives: Liked the beds, excellent hot tub and a super large enclosed garden for our two Dachshund's to run around in.

The property and surroundings were great.

The only drawback was the ceiling height as heads were knocked on several occasions, and the garden although advertised as secure for dogs we found this was not the case as the fence surrounding the pond was only about a metre so that meant we had to keep the dogs tied up as being Huskies they are unfortunately escape artists. I understand that for smaller breeds it wouldn't be a problem. It was such a shame as they would have loved to have been free to explore the garden. A wire fence would be sufficient then the pond would still be visible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely gorgeous house and location didn’t want to go home!

Cosy and comfortable. Fantastic kitchen. Hot tub was very nice after a very long walk! Will definitely book again and recommend.

Excellent, clean and fantastic facilities in this cottage in rural surroundings.

Beautiful and secure gardens so our dogs had great fun exploring and chasing after each other. Stress free holiday and would definitely recommend this cottage. Beach is around 30min drive away but that didn’t cause any problems. There is a lovely community owned real ale pub a mile from the cottage which was really friendly and allowed dogs in. Loved every minute.

The cottage was lovely.

So quiet and peaceful. Great for dogs. We loved the hot tub and the log burner. Just watch your head in the bedrooms upstairs. Furniture and lighting a bit sparce in the living room but kitchen well equipped. Had a great holiday and enjoyed Norfolk very much.

Thank you for a great two weeks.

The cottage suited us so well, just as advertised. Thank you also for sorting out the small problems we had so quickly.

We have no complaints about the Cottage apart from the description of where the downstairs Bathroom was situated compared to where the downstairs Bedroom was.

Whilst to the able bodied the distance would not be an issue, to a 95 year old on a Zimmer Frame this was a much longer distance than was comfortable. The only real complaint we had was the absolutely appalling state of the driveway to the property. Whilst this is the responsibility of the Owners to address we were extremely surprised that Sykes would approve the property and find it hard to believe that you have not had both Complaints and Claims from previous Holidaymakers. The potholes were unbelievable and the state of the drive is the reason that we would never book to stay in that property again.

We stayed in Keepers Cottage from 26th to the 29th November and had an absolutely fabulous time, the property itself is amazing and was made even more by the added bonus of the hot tub and secure gardens that our dogs lived to play and run around in.

Thank you so much and we will definitely be back to stay

Had a lovely stay in keepers cottage.

Would benefit from more lighting round the hot tub and also the bedrooms to have mirrors so you can see what you are doing when drying hair etc. Also would be handy to have some guides on different walks in the area. Apart from that brilliant stay.

Lovely place to stay.

Comfy, clean, more spacious than looks in pictures. Great inclosed garden for our dog to run around. Peaceful location. Hot tub was a relaxing bonus.

We had a lovely time.

Its a lovely cottage we will deffo be returning

Beautiful tranquil property that really did exceed expectations!

Our two dogs loved exploring and roaming around the large garden, the house was cosy, clean and so well presented, the pictures don’t do it justice! The only downside to this property is that the masters bed was quite small. I’m only 5’3” and my feet were touching the base of the bed and my partner had the curl up to sleep. The pillows were uncomfortable -which is the usual case as you have your own preference- but it would have been nice to have some spare different pillows as all the pillows on the property were the same thickness and hardness. On the same note, spare bedding could’ve done with being available as the duvet was very thick and too warm so having a thinner duvet or sheets as an option would’ve been appreciated. If you have young children I was also suggest bringing your own high chair as the one provided is pretty reclined with no option to sit it up. Overall though this property was amazing and I’d easily say it’s the best I’ve been too and I’ve been to quite a few now. It’s the perfect mixture of being in the countryside and feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere but still close to local amenities and towns for days out. You could also happily relax at the property and just explore the local walking area. I’d definitely book it again!

Excellent facilities at Keepers Cottage from the quality of the fixtures & fittings to the cleanliness of the property.

This cottage offered so much more than listed.

Garden was massive and perfect for doggies. Outside space was lovely and was able to use it as weather was kind most of our week. We have been to a few cottages now and I would definitely recommend this one. We would go back.

Lovely cottage, enjoyed the week's stay.

Owner, Tom and his family, very friendly, helped out when needed on some minor stuff. Hot tub is a real plus, so is the huge garden for the dog to run around in. Very tranquil location, handy to use as a base to visit the Norfolk coast and countryside. Near to Dereham, not far from Norwich. Loads of local gastro pubs within 10 miles. Only thing to be aware of is the track to the property. It is what it says, a 1/2 mile and it's gravel all the way.

Beautiful house, beautifully done in beautiful, secluded location.

So comfortable … we completely relaxed for a week and enjoyed the hot tub most evenings. Thank you so much!
