“Nice property with a good enclosed garden for the dogs.”
Plenty of free wood available for the fire.
Nice local pub called the Nags head with lovely homemade meals and dog friendly. Pubs, chip shop, bakery, pharmacy and a co-op less than 10 minutes walk away.
Well equipped kitchen but would be useful to have a washing up bowl as the plug doesn’t work well to stop the water going down.
When we arrived, there was a shoot happening, and there were dead pheasants and a dead muntjac bleeding on the floor by the owners property. Not nice to see so just be aware of this especially if you have children.
Very close to noisy dog boarding kennels but you can’t hear it from inside the property with windows closed.
Non slip netting on the decking at the front sticks up in places and is rusty so be careful of the dogs paws. We tripped over this ourselves quite a few times.
There is carpet in the lounge and with 4 sets of muddy paws we were worried about the mess from coming back from walks and from the garden. We brought loads of throws which we had to use to cover the carpet and had to wipe their paws every time.
There is no information booklet to tell you how to use the heating etc, this would have been useful.
The lady owner was lovely, she said we could let our dogs off lead in their woods, we did this early one morning then had the male owner drive up to us almost hitting our dogs with the car saying no wonder there are no pheasants about. When we got back to the property he said he would appreciate the dogs being on a lead in the woods and his wife should not have said they can be off lead.
Nowhere on the website or confirmation email does it state that dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms, so if your dogs are like our and are used to being in our bedrooms at night, this is not the property for you.
