The Granary Cottage

Fantastic cottage, everything we could think of was there and ready to be used, from the crockery, washing machine, DVD collection, free wifi, all sorted!

Spacious, light and airy, hosts were available but not intrusive. Best shower we've had in all our visits to UK! All on one level, no stairs to negotiate, lovely country village pub within walking distance. Off road parking. Just outside the main hub of Kings Lynn, but still quiet and peaceful. What more could you ask for? The only negative we came up with, was no dogs, so unfortunately my brother and his furkid couldn't come along too.

Lots of dust under bed, under settee and in radiators.

Could not use oven because it was unhygenic. Owners friendly and helpful, cottage has potential to be really nice if above problems were sorted.

Every thing was very good except the Oven in kitchen which couldn’t be used because it was so dirty inside.

It needed a Professional Clean. Our only complaint! Because we had purchased a pizza to have our meal on arrival after our journey and had to throw it away! We ended up going out for a meal, at a local pub!

The slightly negative comment re comfort pertains to the heating system.

The weather wasn’t very warm and we were cold. We were told to alter the thermostat in order to get the heating switched on. It worked a bit and then would go off and not come on when we expected it to. So we were feeling quite cold for a lot of the time. We think that needs sorting. Otherwise everything was great.

An excellent cottage in a great location.

It is spacious and very comfortable and fully equipped for a very good holiday. The friendly hosts are on site and very kindly attend to any queries. It is a good base for trips to the North Norfolk coast and nature reserves, National Trust properties and other attractions. There is plenty of choice for eating out within a reasonable distance of Gayton. It was our fourth visit and as good as ever. We look forward to returning in future.

A lovely cosy quiet cottage, everything we needed for our 5 day stay.

A very good base to explore the West Norfolk Coast. The best DVD selection we have ever seen and was brilliant as we love watching films on our holidays. Having brilliant walking weather was the icing on the cake. We would definitely return if visiting this area again. Thank You

Very tired needs updating.

Oven completely unusable and oven tins the same.Dust under beds must have been there months.Fluff in Tumble dryer a fire risk.Shower slippery and no hand rail.

Granary cottage was a fantastic home from home for us.

We are contractors that work away a lot. And what we need after work is a place that feels like home. The place is very clean and comfortable, and has everything you might need. Would love to stay again if working in the area.

Very pleased with our choice of booking The Granary Cottage it was beautifully furnished and was very comfortable All house hold items were there at hand The area was very quiet .

and we slept well The area was very handy to get around both sea side and country, Had handy shops in the village and lovely restaurants within 10/ 20 minutes Well worth booking

We were disappointed with our stay, we didn’t think it had had a thorough clean between guests.

The bed head/ lamps/ under the beds dusty. The mirrors very smeared pillow cases not on properly only 2 in the one room and no pillow protectors.We had to wipe the dining table and the table mats. The oven and oven trays needed a clean, dead flies etc in the utility,the garden needed some tlc. There was a strong smell of paint/ bleach in the bathroom. We were only there for two nights but overall we were disappointed

Spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Good off road parking. In short a great place to stay. Would strongly recommend.

This lovely cottage is very old being a stone granary.

This meant during this hot weather on arriving back after a day out the cottage was lovely and cool. It even had a utility room. I’ve always wanted one!!

We so enjoyed at Granary Cottage.

The premises were spacious and comfortable, and Brian and Jinhua were very friendly and helpful. The weather was wonderful and was altogether a wonderful holiday. Small points are another towel rail in bathroom would be great, and waste bins in bedrooms would be good.

It was peaceful, relaxing and great to visit the area.

The cottage was delightful and clean and set in a beautiful village with easy access via bus to other areas of Norfolk.

But it’s the little things that either make or break your holiday and having only 1 toilet roll and 1 dishwasher tablet left us for the whole week meant we had to ask for replacements when we shouldn’t have had to. Having stayed in many Sykes properties over the years we have never come across this situation before.

Been there a number of times over the last few years always clean and tidy

Could not use the oven it was disgustingly covered in grease could not use washing machine or tumble dryer as both were dirty inside.

Had already cleaned microwave and oven top . The duvet was dirty and was very old the usable garden space needed work and nothing had been done for many years. Photographs are available for you to see. We did inform the owner. Very disappointed

A very spacious property situated ideally for walking and birdwatching holidays.

We were warm and quite comfortable although the weather was cold. There were a few housekeeping matters requiring some attention, namely a front door which sticks, unfortunately the main oven broke down, baking trays were past their best. The water seemed very hard which made the towels provided somewhat rough and would have benefited from a little softener. Notwithstanding our comments, they did not impact on our enjoyment of a week spent at Granary Cottage.

We live in a nearby village. The Granary is spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. It's also in a village which gives easy access to many Norfolk attractions.

Nice property with pleasent owners, the shower cubicle needed a good clean, the larger oven needed good clean and some of the kitchen cupboards, soiling on bedroom carpet.

Lovely bungalow, quiet and peaceful in a nice village.

Equipped with everything you need and host very welcoming. Pub with great food just 5 mins away and very central to places of interest for days out. Would go back.

Few changes would be helpful.

No shelf in shower to put shampoo,etc on. Another towel rail or two to hang towels after showering. Would have liked a waste paper bin in the bedroom. And maybe a clock in the living room. Based on other properties that we have stayed in. All good

We loved being in this cottage but were disappointed with the china provided ie two little mugs and two odd cups, and the cottage was supposed to sleep four.

Not the standard usually provided by Sykes! Also, bathroom could have done with more than one small bath towel rail, Otherwise, really comfortable. Garden is a perfect sun trap.

Spotlessly clean and ideal location for touring the area.

Host warm & welcoming but noted that there was a lack of utility products to use in the dishwasher and conflicting information regarding recycling.

The cottage is in a lovely village, it has fish chip shop, a small general store, & a local pub which are all in walking distance.

The cottage is warm & welcoming, good for people with mobility problems, with two small additions to shower room a grab rail & a non slip mat in the shower. It has a lovely wide hall with wood floor through out apart from bedrooms. The surrounding area is beautiful & Norwich well worth a visit.

The Granary Cottage is a lovely property.

It is comfortable, very clean and ideally located for exploring West and North Norfolk. My family and I had a great stay there and would highly recommend.

A clean spacious property.

Kitchen well-equipped. Unfortunately unable to put the central heating on but had the living-room fire on. On the downside we found the settee and armchairs a bit old and uncomfortable. Pretty little garden and loads of room to park the car.

The property was clean and comfortable, with a friendly welcome from the owner.

The outdoor space was a nice place to relax, and we made use of the BBQ on one night though the grill may have seen better days it worked very well with when using BBQ trays on top of the grill. The bedrooms and beds were very comfy, as were the chairs/sofas in the living room. We did feel that the kitchen needed a few additional items like a salad bowl, and smaller tongs for the hob (the giant BBQ ones were a little too big!), and the frying pan seemed a little well worn, but was clean. We would only suggest one thing and that is the shower/bathroom is a little tired - though the shower worked very well, it is a little dated perhaps. Overall, we would recommend the property and area to friends and family - the one level accommodation meant that it met the needs of the lass able in the party very well. The Crown pub (walkable distance) is well worth a visit!

Great property, great location, well presented.

We were vey comfortable and cosy in what was a colder than expected week of March. The property gave us a comfortable and cozy home to come back to after our day of travelling and touristing in the area.

The cottage was very spacious and very well equipped There was just one thing let it down that was the shower cubicle.

..it is in need of a good clean regrout and a new shower head. The remainder of the cottage was spotless. The owner was very friendly.

The location is ideal for exploring North Norfolk. We stayed in the height of a heatwave but the cottage was lovely and cool in the heat . The village facilities were really handy and we can definitely recommend the chippy down the road. The property is well loved and comfortable and had everything you would need and the owners are really friendly and welcoming. We can definitely recommend this property for an enjoyable holiday.

Everything was very clean, lots of space and all really good. Excellent location for visits to National Trust properties, nature reserves, countryside walks and the coast. Looking forward to our next visit.

This was our third stay at Granary Cottage, and each time, it has felt like a home from home.

The property is very comfortable and met all our needs. The location is great for exploring north and west Norfolk. The owners live next door and are friendly but not intrusive.

Very peaceful, clean and comfortable cottage, well situated for visiting all parts of Norfolk.

Plenty to see and do in the area, although the local pub, The Crown, despite being recommended, appeared to be having a bit of a crisis on the two nights we visited for food!! Over an hour wait on the second visit. The cottage did lack a few minor necessities such as washing up liquid, a washing up cloth, tablets for the dishwasher or any cleaning products - not the sort of things you think to bring with you! Also, a mirror in the second bedroom would be nice. These are only minor quibbles, though, and we still had a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.

The Granary cottage is excellent for a holiday.

It is spotlessly clean on arrival and is very peaceful. It is ideally situated to visit not only countryside but also the Norfolk coast. The owners are on hand if required but leave you to enjoy a peaceful holiday. We would highly recommend the Granary Cottage. We love it.

Well located cottage for visiting north Norfolk and within close proximity to a pub serving hearty fayre.

Probably affected by covid restrictions, kitchen good but desperately needs a new frying pan. Bathroom lacks proper mirror and lighting in the living room could be improved as natural light is limited and only one table lamp.

Due to covid, every effort had been made to make us feel safe.

We had been to the cottage before and knew it was clean and comfortable. It is an ideal location for the coast and country. We cut out holiday short because of the new lockdown but enjoyed the time we had there and will be back.

This cottage was a good base for exploring albeit through Covid-19.

The cottage itself was easy to locate. It was spacious and clean. Facilities provided were good although a mirror in second bedroom would be ideal. All precautions appear to have been taken in regards to keeping everyone safe. Some utensils and kitchen equipment may have been removed for this purpose but we managed. Thank you to the owners.

We enjoyed our week’s stay at the cottage in these strange COVID-19 times very much and it was a welcome break.

The cottage is very clean, well-equipped and comfortable, and the location is picturesque and quiet. The owners are on hand and were friendly and helpful as needed. The cottage provided an excellent base for exploring north Norfolk and for linking up with our two sons and their families who were camping nearby. We would certainly consider a repeat visit.

The owners live next door and are a lovely couple.

They introduced themselves then left us to enjoy our holiday. The facilities were excellent and the standard of decor matched the same standards. This was a bit worrying as we took our granddaughter and were constantly worried regarding possible damage Overall we would highly recommend this accommodation many thanks for a wonderful break

Lovely holiday.

The property was very nice as was the owner. We loved the area, wonderful! Situation was great for visiting Hunstanton, Norfolk Lavender, Sandringham & Walsingham. For people with mobility problems it was very good, cars parked not far from the front door & space to walk with a rollater inside. The only thing we found a problem, with us being older, was the sofas, they were very low & soft making it difficult to get up. Would consider a return stay.

Slightly over priced, Paid over 400 worth between 325 and 375.

The cottage is a lot bigger than we thought.

Great value. The owner is next door and shares an entrance drive - v. friendly but not at all intrusive. The cottage is much nicer than the village which suffers intermittently from heavy traffic/shooting.

Absolutely ideal for a disabled person as my husband found out when he was able to manoeuvre his wheelchair around in the property.

These facilities are hard to find when hunting out holiday accommodation in this area. The owner was very helpful.

This was our second visit to this property and once again it provided a very comfortable home from home.
