See The Sea

Great location for Hunstanton beach and the property was sizeable enough for 2 adults and 2 children.

The property hadn't been cleaned particularly well prior to us arriving however - dog hairs everywhere and a distinct animal smell throughout.

Property needs a thorough clean, not as clean as previous stays in property.

Single beds are not comfortable or safe. Too high, too squidgy and mattress topper slides off, felt like you were on a slope and going to fall out. Would be better to get New mattresses. Maintenance - shower rail needs fixing and leak from hose by toilet needs attention.

A couple of fans would be very helpful in this hot weather.

We really enjoyed our week staying at See the Sea, our second time there .

It is a perfect “Home from Home” . The location is delightful , so relaxing to watch the changing sea views from the dining room . The big windows frame the beautiful sky so well , fascinating cloud pictures , glorious sunsets and a spectacular view of the crescent moon with Venus . The pretty enclosed back garden next to St Edmund’s Church is well designed . The property is very clean & comfortable . The bottle of Prosecco , milk , fruit , sweets etc enhanced our visit , thank you . The proximity of the property to the shops , particularly Mr Bun the Baker, is a great advantage too. We have already booked our next stay !

Clean comfortable cottage.

Well equipped. Interesting unconventional cooking arrangements but adequate for a few simple meals. Would have liked a larger fridge even at the sacrifice of the small freezer. Lovely large bathroom with good powerful shower. All good for our family of five. Small garden with outdoor furniture nice suntrap. Ideal location for seafront, gardens and coastal path.

See the Sea exceeded all our expectations .

Lovely clean bungalow in perfect location for everything Hunstanton had to offer. Complete variety of restaurants on it's doorstep, traditional fish and chips to Chinese and Indian. Fully enclosed back garden so no worries and very relaxing with our 4 legged family member able to explore. Short walk and turn left for amusements and array of shops or turn right for lovely cliff top walk down to a brilliant flat beach stopping for coffee and breakfast at the cafe near the light house very dog friendly. Walk back along stunning shore explore the old wreck and look for fossils. Then evening meal at the very dog friendly Hotel inside or outside in the sea front garden . Perfect traditional holiday.

Not 1st time here but still very good overall holiday home for comfort and position

The bungalow served us well as we were having christmas at my sisters in Hunstanton however my 96 year old mother in law said that the bed was too hard and having tried it I agree.

She was in the room with just 1 bed. The kitchen facilities were poor too as no cooker! One hob isn't enough for cooking anything.

The property felt very welcoming as soon as we entered through the front door.

Everything was as listed but also came with a few surprise extras…thank you for the treats for us and the dog, we all really enjoyed our stay which was very much needed. The owner was extremely accommodating and most professional.

Cottage in a good position with great view of sea and easy walking to town.

Clean and comfortable. Downside was kitchen facilities were poor. No proper cooker,no washing machine,no freezer and small fridge. OK if your happy to eat out.

Great location near the sea and town.

Plenty of space in the bungalow. We were very impressed with the generous welcome pack especially the fruit bowl. Only thing we struggled a bit with was the lack of a full size cooker. Not used to a microwave or air fryer for cooking. Plenty of eating places within walking distance. Lovely play park near by which the grandchildren enjoyed.

Well situated in the town. Slightly quirky kitchen arrangements, Fridge is a bit ancient and a bigger toaster would be a good idea. Not much room for clothes. Oh and why is tv tuned to North and not East Anglia

Having used this bungalow last year we had no hesitation booking again for this year.

Unfortunately things were not as they were last year, site improvements had taken place with decking in the garden however we were faced with the following upon arrival - Half eaten food in fridge, Dirty plates and saucepans, Dirty oven (possibly mold), Dirty air fryer, Mud on floor, Rubbish in rooms, Mis-functioning TV, Dog hairs and smell plus a number of other issues. All these things are not what you'd expect when starting a holiday, I go on holiday to relax, not do the cleaning. The more important and I feel serious concern has to be the owner failing to respond to any attempts to contact them. Phone, text and emails all went unanswered. I even contacted the booking website who were very helpful but also had difficulty in making contact. Upon my return home I emailed the owner with all this information and more together with photo evidence showing what was found, again after a week no responce. The serious question has to be 'what would someone do if a serious situation arose with the property and you were unable to safely continue your stay, who do you contact?' I'm still awaiting a reply!

Beautiful setting,close to all amenities,but very peaceful.

Great place to get away from the madness & just chill. Lots of interesting Cafe's,Restaurant's & pub's,shops & aeas to keep children amused. Definately going back.

We had a fabulous stay at See the Sea.

The cottage is in a great location, a couple of minutes walk to the seafront. On our return we had a lovely view of a pretty church to greet us. Parking felt nice and safe behind the church with a quick walk to the property. We were right by Hunstanton centre. Great chippie nearby, along with plenty of shops and cafes. I found we had everything we needed. No oven - but hob worked great, and air fryer if needed. Thank you for a lovely, memorable stay!

Nice bungalow convenient for the town & see front.

Fruit, wine & bottle of milk were appreciated. The garden was lovely & we ate our breakfast out there. The bedroom with the 3 beds in would have made a lovely master bedroom with room for wardrobes & chest of draws rather than filling with just beds. We also missed a conventional cooker. It would be good to state that the parking isn’t next to the bungalow.

Pretty awful.

Had I known it was semi-detached I would not have booked - I go on holiday to get away from other peoples diy, noise, gaze etc. The sea is visible - just - from parts of the bungalow - after you look past the Indian restaurant opposite - the cooking fumes from which mean opening any of the front windows is not pleasant for most of the day and evening. The litter bin directly opposite the lounge does offer good entertainment in the mornings as the seagulls skilfully get out all the previous evenings take-away remains and see what’s left for them - sadly the rubbish stays in the road. The kitchen facilities are very poor - the fridge is on its last legs keeping things vaguely cool at best - it also tips forward when opened. Very very limited cooking facilities - should be made clear there isn’t a normal cooker or hob. The ‘sofa’ was very poor - a series of cubes that drift apart as soon as you sit on them - my back soon let me know just how poor quality the sofa and bed were. The bungalow is very small - how on earth 6 people would fit in I have no idea - I found the bungalow very cluttered and 8 highly scented reed diffusers in the small space were sickeningly overpowering . The bungalow is a goldfish bowl - wide open to the close gaze of the public from 2 sides and neighbours at the back - there is no privacy at all. Curtains would help in the back bedroom as the streetlight shines straight through the Venetian blinds at night. On arrival - stickers on the doors made clear that the bungalow is ‘under CCTV surveillance’ - why? - surely this is something that should be declared and explained as part of the property details? I have never stayed in a Sykes Cottage under CCTV surveillance before - it was quite a nasty surprise. I wonder if there are cameras inside too? The fact that my movements were being monitored - by I knew not whom or why - along with the very dodgy parking arrangements - not somewhere I would go in the dark - being at the property made me feel very unsafe and uncomfortable indeed. The ‘welcome notes’ made a big thing of what to do in the event of problems with the neighbours and ‘forbid’ you being outside the property between 10pm and 6am - a really dreadful atmosphere to set. I abandoned my stay at this property half way through - such was the level of discomfort I felt just being there. I have awarded one star for the fruit basket and the fact that the bungalow wasn’t dirty - it wasn’t spotless by any means but it was ok. However, the negative aspects far far outweigh anything positive and I would not recommend the property in any way.

Great bungalow, very clean, situated in middle of town handy for everything.

wifi full signal for 10min then weak for the rest of the day, a small table & some folding chairs for the patio would be nice, but a lovely holiday will book again next year

Nice bungalow with easy parking.

Very central and convenient for all activities.

Directions to cottage were misleading.

Communal garden not private. Parking awkward. Kitchen facilities were not good. Not good value. Went to Ash farm last year and was brilliant and cheaper.

Felt like we were sitting in a gold fish bowl in the lounge everyone looking in as they passed when every other window had blinds also parking a little dodge as there is no official parking there was a time restriction on the main road when we were told there was parking as we are both disabled
