“Property itself was lovely and perfectly located.”

However, there were so many issues we had to call maintenance to come out losing a day of our holiday while they resolved some issues. However, there were so many issues we had to call maintenance to come out losing a day of our holiday while they resolved some issues. Listing has now changed so we didn't get what we paid for.. we should of had a utility room / snug on first floor but there was a locked door. There should have also been a welcome basket but this was just a box of milk sachets and few biscuits. No bin bags or wash cloth provided as should have been. There was a broken chair outside (we note this was reported by a previous guest) a broken chair at kitchen table, plus another broke as my mum sat on it. Thankfully we grabbed her before she fell off. The cupboard in kitchen has mouldy dog bed and bowls. Walls mouldy. We kept that cupboard closed and couldn't use it. There was no instructions on tvs so we couldn't watch these. It was only when we called maintenance we were told about a box, but this still didn't make all the tvs work. My parents room had such a stained bedding that I don't believe it had been changed. (The cleaner that came out took this bedding to dispose of as she agreed how bad it was) There was hairs in beds and baths. There was cobwebs everywhere. Crumbs and drink spillages on coffee table and dining table. Holes in throws on couch showed just how filthy sofas were. Not to mention stained cushions on dining chairs. We struggled with bifold door and had to clean the runner but this still didn't help. Back gate has hole in so not secure garden for dogs. We kept our dogs downstairs as instructed, however bedrooms stank of wet dog. No glass in oven so couldn't use grill as door would not stay open. We had maintenance and a cleaner out to fix chairs, bifold door, make bed in one room. (We didnt want them there all day as this was taking up our holiday) That lost us one day as they didn't arrive til 12 but even they agreed how bad it was. Appreciate this is a lot and we tried to get some resolved but we were not prepared to lose a second day calling maintenance and having someone come out again. These issues should never have been an issue. The majority are general upkeep / cleanliness which clearly isn't done. Some time and money needs spending on this property to bring the standards up to other holiday rentals. We also contacted Sykes with feedback on first day and they didn't bother to get back to us, even though their reply said they would try to resolve issues.
