“Had a wonderful holiday at Lillies Pad, the weather was fantastic.”

The cottage was spotless. Home from home. We were welcomed on arrival by the lovely hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. A lovely touch was the welcome basket, lots of homemade goodies, thank you. Very comfortable and spacious for the two of us and our dog. Lovely outdoor area and garden. The bed was really comfortable and large bedroom. Lots of places to visit and a pub Green Man about 1 mile away that is dog friendly and serves lovely food. Loved Thetford Forest. Lovely village, we even went to a coffee morning at the church for tea and cake. Would highly recommend.

“What a find!”

We had such a warm welcome from Tina and Alan. We were delighted with their property, which was scrupulously clean and so inviting. The welcome pack was so delightful with home made bread and marmalade, plus local honey. There also breakfast goods, perfect if you arrive late and have had no time to shop. Most thoughtful, in our view, was the bowl of fresh water and biscuits for our dog, not to mention a fresh towel specifically for her if she got wet. The house is an ideal base for exploring. We visited Kings Lynn, Norwich and Bury St Edmunds . There are other treats in the area such as National Trust properties, a lovely antique centre on the road to King's Lynn and a quaint little train from Wells Next The Sea to Walsingham. Highly recommended.

“A great cosy home for a relaxing break and having 2 toilets was an added bonus.”

We were greeted by the owners who helped us unload the car even though it was wet! A wonderful basket of goodies was in the kitchen waiting for us, including home made bread and marmalade, local honey and eggs from their hens.

“Lovely house.”

Everything needed for a few days away. Warm and comfortable. Very good water pressure on shower but a bath is also provided. Very friendly owners. Wish there were blackout blinds in the bedroom but that is the only criticism.

“What can you say about this cottage but brilliant.”

The little touches put in place by the owners ie: fresh eggs by their own hens plus other essentials was perfect. The cottage was spotless and very clean. “The owners wanted to provide a home from home experience in the cottage and that is what they did achieve.”

The cottage was very clean, well fitted out and every time you thought I wonder if there is any .........( eg. toilet cleaner, tissues, bin liners etc.etc ) we were able to find what we needed. The emailed house details prior to arriving was particularly helpful and fully up to date ( unlike some properties we have been in recently). A really good experience and a lovely property. The front garden has been improved since the pictures on the Sykes website and it was lovely to watch the birds in the bird bath.

Lillies Pad is a lovely semi-detached cottage, adjoined to the owner's home, in the village of Methwold, near Feltwell in Norfolk. the property has two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, with a bathroom and shower over bath, sleeping four guests in total. The property also consists of a kitchen/diner, sitting room with woodburning stove, snug, sun room and a cloakroom. Outside is ample off-road parking and an enclosed back garden with furniture. Lillies Pad is a great base from which to explore the wonderful Thetford Forest Park. Please note: Any additional pets will be subject to a supplemental charge per pet.

The agricultural village of Feltwell is situated on the Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire borders and is one of the largest villages in Norfolk. Feltwell offers good local amenities including village stores, a Post Office, and pubs. This area of Norfolk is known as the ‘Brecks’, which has a unique landscape consisting of beautiful Scots Pine forests, heathlands, wetlands, chalk streams, meres and pingo ponds. The Brecks is an outstanding area for wildlife conservation and boasts several nature reserves, country parks and visitor centres, which offer activities for the whole family. Thetford Forest High Lodge Centre is the largest lowland pine forest in the UK, and is an excellent place to walk and cycle. Just 6 miles from Feltwell on the Suffolk border is Lakenheath, where aviation enthusiasts can see American jets at USAF Lakenheath take off and land from its watch areas. Close by is the English Heritage owned Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves, and the 125 acre reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village at West Stow. Museums can be found at Brandon, Thetford, Mildenhall and Swaffham and country houses include the National Trust owned Oxburgh Hall and Euston Hall. The area also has two local small breweries and St George’s Distillery - England’s only whiskey distillery. Feltwell is an ideal base for exploring all that this region has to offer.
