“Stunning location, beautiful house everything we needed .”

Only negative was blinds , curtains would be better because the sun came through at 6 am every morning. Having said that we had a lovely holiday .

“We adored our week in Horning - it helped that the weather was so amazing.”

The location and view from the house was perfect. We brought a paddleboard which was fantastic and made the most of the river for us all - getting out at 7:30am was incredible and the kids went up and down the river almost all day! The kitchen had most of the utensils we required and the little welcoming package and wine was much appreciated. The downsides were the beds that weren't particularly comfortable, the curtains which were as useful as a chocolate teapot for keeping the 5am morning sun out (they were very fragile too) and even though we'd called ahead to ask about fans - there were none in the house. With the 5th heatwave this summer we'd have thought it would be a non negotiable. A lady kindly dropped off 3 small fans - but they were rechargeable ones that you couldn't charge at the same time as them working - so they'd run out half way through the night meaning you'd wake in a sweat in the early hours. The bedroom at the front of the house was too noisy to open the window at night because of the surprisingly noisy traffic going by - I guess because it's right by the road. All in all a lovely week though, thank you.

“Had a great time, would highly recommend.”

Perfect location with good beer gardens and cafes close by, great balcony with ample furniture and lovely views, spacious interior with lots of room, well stocked cupboards. Slight negative was the uncomfortable double bed. Will definitely be returning, we thought it was a great rental.

“A beautiful well equipped holiday home, spacious and comfortable, we had 7 in our party and never felt cramped.”

It has amazing views of the river and very convenient to the pubs, restaurants and shops and boats. We stayed during a period of very hot weather so the only thing that was missing was some fans for the bedrooms. Other than that it was a really good place to stay , we would definitely recommend and return, we have a boat mooring nearby so very convenient for us too.

“Fabulous position and setting.”

Sit and watch the boats and birds go by. We had two swans with two signets visit us daily. Very short walk to the pub with plenty of seating outside right next to the water. Would love to visit again and take grandchildren next time .

“Lovely property in a gorgeous location.”

The only disappointment was that after reading a previous review which mentioned the dishwasher not working, I followed this up before we arrived and was assured that the machine was in working order. The first thing we saw in the kitchen was a handwritten sign saying the dishwasher was out of order. In the scheme of things, this was only a small issue, but it was the fact that I was blatantly lied to which disappointed me the most.

“We had the most relaxing stay.”

Beautiful position, spotlessly clean. Only small thing we can manage to think of would be the option of a small gate on the balcony/ stairs (especially if u have a naughty terrier who likes to explore). Besides this, we hope to return. Thank you.

“First the good - Great location, spacious rooms, well equipped (generally), gorgeous view out onto the water - great for watching the wildlife.”

Large balcony. Very sociable space. Unfortunately the bad - dusty headboards and cobwebs in lightshades. Double bedroom door wouldnt completely close and there were several slats are missing from the vertical blinds, so no privacy and sunlight was an issue in the early mornings. Then we noticed the dishwasher wasnt working. There was an annoying pump-type noise coming from the main en-suite bathroom constantly - which kept us awake the first night then had to get earplugs for the rest of the stay. The doors leading out onto the balcony were really stiff and difficult to open and close. So in summary, a potentially lovely property but a bit neglected unfortunately. Its a shame as it really could be great. Tried to raise issues with Sykes on 2nd day but unfortunately it ended up being more hassle than it was worth.

“This is the second time I have stayed in this property.”

We complained about the beds 4 years ago and thought that by now they may of replaced the mattress that was sunk in the middle with springs sticking out. Sadly not. All of the mattresses were poor and uncomfortable but the double was absolutely dire, I’ve seen better in a skip. The small bedroom at the front of the property facing the road had a blind with latts missing which meant it was awful for privacy and rubbish for sleeping - letting the light in. The outside of the property was very dirty and grubby which is a shame because the location is fantastic. The living area and bathrooms were all good but the beds seriously let it down. Not one of us had a good nights sleep.
