“Fabulous position and setting.”

Sit and watch the boats and birds go by. We had two swans with two signets visit us daily. Very short walk to the pub with plenty of seating outside right next to the water. Would love to visit again and take grandchildren next time .

“Lovely property in a gorgeous location.”

The only disappointment was that after reading a previous review which mentioned the dishwasher not working, I followed this up before we arrived and was assured that the machine was in working order. The first thing we saw in the kitchen was a handwritten sign saying the dishwasher was out of order. In the scheme of things, this was only a small issue, but it was the fact that I was blatantly lied to which disappointed me the most.

Would stay again. If I have to say anything negative it was because the dishwasher didn't work during our stay.

“We had the most relaxing stay.”

Beautiful position, spotlessly clean. Only small thing we can manage to think of would be the option of a small gate on the balcony/ stairs (especially if u have a naughty terrier who likes to explore). Besides this, we hope to return. Thank you.

“First the good - Great location, spacious rooms, well equipped (generally), gorgeous view out onto the water - great for watching the wildlife.”

Large balcony. Very sociable space. Unfortunately the bad - dusty headboards and cobwebs in lightshades. Double bedroom door wouldnt completely close and there were several slats are missing from the vertical blinds, so no privacy and sunlight was an issue in the early mornings. Then we noticed the dishwasher wasnt working. There was an annoying pump-type noise coming from the main en-suite bathroom constantly - which kept us awake the first night then had to get earplugs for the rest of the stay. The doors leading out onto the balcony were really stiff and difficult to open and close. So in summary, a potentially lovely property but a bit neglected unfortunately. Its a shame as it really could be great. Tried to raise issues with Sykes on 2nd day but unfortunately it ended up being more hassle than it was worth.

“This is the second time I have stayed in this property.”

We complained about the beds 4 years ago and thought that by now they may of replaced the mattress that was sunk in the middle with springs sticking out. Sadly not. All of the mattresses were poor and uncomfortable but the double was absolutely dire, I’ve seen better in a skip. The small bedroom at the front of the property facing the road had a blind with latts missing which meant it was awful for privacy and rubbish for sleeping - letting the light in. The outside of the property was very dirty and grubby which is a shame because the location is fantastic. The living area and bathrooms were all good but the beds seriously let it down. Not one of us had a good nights sleep.
