Lovely to just enjoy the view and pop to the beach and back to get lunch etc. The area of the broads is excellent and as a bonus we also had brilliant weather all week.Would love stay again but have noticed will be unavailable for future bookings. Many Thanks anyway

“We have really enjoyed our second visit to Seaclose in Walcott.”

The cottage is an a perfect position overlooking the sea with a lovely beach a few metres away. Seaclose is really comfortable the furniture and beds are extremely comfortable. Everything you need for your holiday is provided. The cottage is cleaned to a high standard. There is a well stocked shop just across the road and cafe/chip shop also in the village. We will certainly be returning in the future.

“Absolutely exceptional holiday cottage.”

Everything you need to enjoy a holiday by the beach. Owner so nice and helpful while letting us enjoy our 2 week stay. Our little dog totally enjoyed spending his days in the garden which was totally secure even although he is I miniature Jack Russel who loves to escape. I was so relaxed knowing he was totally safe on the garden. Totally recommend this cottage loved it.

“What a fantastic position this home has.”

Sitting alongside the beach, the view of the sea was so lovely. Listening to the waves hitting the shore and watching people beach fishing, jet skiing and even some wouldbe surfers. The property is cosy and had everything you need. Just a couple of niggles, a couple of windows couldn't be opened, and the pipes behind the toilet looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while so the spiders were getting quite homely. Plus the cutlery was slightly odd, we had five knives, but only three forks? But having said that we had a lovely stay and the garden was quite big which our two dogs loved. We would love to come back next year, if possible.

“Lovely location.”

Views spectacular. It might be worth highlighting that there is the path that runs along the property, which is well used. Main bedroom is very comfortable, however the ‘adult’ bunkbeds are not! A single bed with a pull out bed underneath would be better. The property did have an odd odour on arrival, it was clean but didn’t smell very fresh. I know it’s a dog friendly property (that’s why we chose it!) but it wasn’t a dog smell! We would have liked a mop and bucket to clean muddy paw prints up and leave the property clean!

... the cottage was reasonably clean, really well equipped, towels and bed linen were lovely and clean and smelt lovely too! Garden was very tidy and clean. Everything we needed was there really. The only thing I would have liked is if there was a folder on the dining table that contained probably rubbish bin days ect as we didn't know the dates were hiding in the cupboard so didn't do it. We were very impressed and have already booked another week here!

“A lovely property in a perfect setting, right at the edge of the beach.”

( Close enough to feel the sea spray at high tide) There was a fully enclosed garden, perfect for my small dog and the dog friendly section of the beach was only 100m away! The property was fully equipped with everything you could need. There is little wonder why it is booked up so far in advance!

“We always go to Seaclose for our holidays in the summer months, but because my husband was retiring we thought we would come just before his retirement date.”

We had a lovely time, the dogs had lots and lots of walks, and are glad to be home so that they can have a rest lol. We had lots of different weather ie rain, sleet, snow, hail stones and finally foam from the sea in the first week, then we had cold and sunshine. It always lives up to expectations, the owners are very friendly and helpful and fix things asap when they occur. We would highly recommend this holiday property as it’s just like a home from home.

Not every visitor is in the know about all of the equipment. The loo seat was loose. Altogether a lovely stay in proximity of the sea and the vista provides plenty to observe.

“We had a very pleasant stay at Seaclose over the New Year period.”

The house is exactly as described and comfortable. Being close to the sea and wooden, there are damp patches in the property (and the curtains had mold on them in places) but we also live in an old cottage so it wasn't an issue for us. The property could probably benefit from a deep clean. It really did smell of dogs when we entered but a good brush of the carpets and a clean of the hoover filter sorted that. The location is perfect for the beech (just 1 min walk) and there are facilities very close. However, the Coastal Path comes within 6' of the house and it did feel like we were in a Gold Fish Bowl sometimes. The garden is adequate for 2 dogs and children. However, be aware that the fence is low in places and 'enthusiastic/naughty' dogs may jump it!!

“We had a fantastic week at SeaClose, the location is brilliant we felt we didn’t really need to go anywhere else, our dog especially loved the enclosed garden it was lovely and big to run around in!”

The cottage was really nice and comfortable, only a couple of things let it down. A new kettle is needed there was so much limescale in it we couldn’t use it and had to make tea and coffee in the microwave. The shower head does not stay in position on the pole so it slides down and ends up below your head which is very frustrating. Also there was no guestbook or information file, these are really useful to see what attractions there are in the area and also to be able to let owners know of any issues. Overall though a fantastic week, we would come back.

“We enjoyed our stay very much here though with a few reservations.”

The location cannot be faulted in its superb setting by the beach. An incredible view which could have been helped by a squeezee or something to clean the windows, which we wouldn’t have minded doing. We thought the property could have been cleaned better and found a few cobwebs about as well as the carpet not vacuumed well with nail clippings by the bed in the main bedroom. The kitchen was adequately equipped though one of the saucepans needs throwing out as the black lining was badly affected. Also a smaller non stick frying pan would be good. We found the property reasonably comfortable though the sofa by the window is badly sagging probably due to so many people having sat there to admire the view. We ate out mostly and would recommend the Kingfisher Cafe. We had breakfasts there and Sunday lunch, which for £10 was superb. Great friendly staff. If you fancy Chinese food the Oriental Garden at Bacton is only 5 minutes away and does takeaway as well as dine in. I would have put this information in the visitors book but there wasn’t one. Not much of a welcome pack which is unusual these days. Just a few teabags and sugar but no milk which would have been nice after a long journey. We didn’t go far as time passed pleasantly looking out at the view. In spite of our reservations, which wouldn’t take much fixing, we enjoyed our stay here. A very quiet getaway from it place.

“Amazing location, very cosy and comfortable bungalow.”

Great for the dogs with large secure garden and beach access outside the gate (be aware there are dog restrictions from 1st May to end Sept, although you can walk 200 yards along the coast path to the unrestricted section). Bacton woods a lovely walk if you want a change from the beach. Great chip shop over the road, and lovely welcome and food at Poachers Pocket along the beach. Only thing I would suggest was missing is a dustpan and brush - sometimes easier than getting the hoover out. Also perhaps a folder with some local knowledge, places to visit, chip shop closing times etc (maybe because we were out of season but 7pm on a Thursday caught us out - pub to the rescue). But all in all, a great place to stay

“You know that you've struck gold when you would be happy to live in the place that you're staying.”

Seaclose is clean, smart, warm and comfortable. Not only is it in an amazing position on the coastal path, only feet from the beach, and with a great shop and very, very nice fish and chip restaurant/shop a literal 2 minute walk away, but it serves as a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. We stayed at Seaclose with our two dogs, so the vast garden was perfect and our elderly Westie found much to interest her and was happy to explore the perimeter fence in great detail. She is a determined, if a little less-able, walker these days, so a circuit of the garden was ideal exercise for her. In short, Seaclose is a wonderful place to stay and I can't thank Teresa enough for allowing us the privilege of taking it over for a week. I wish it could have been longer.

Local shop across the road well stocked and a Post Office. Fish and chip shop next door to shop was very good also. Good accommodation and we found the bed very comfortable. Large enclosed garden good for dogs and children. Even though there was only 2 of us( plus a dog), we would have preferred a couple of more plates and larger bowls for pasta etc and a bit more cutlery. There is 4 of each. Certainly not a complaint just a suggestion. We have already recommended this to some friends, who have booked to go soon.

“This is a really good place to stay, if you like the beach as it’s right on your doorstep.”

Ideal for the dogs with a big garden, they can also meet everyone who walks past, you can walk them miles along the beach if you wanted to. It’s ideally placed so you can walk to the poachers pocket pub for a meal and drinks. There is also a chip shop and cafe across the road, and the shop is very close too. The lighthouse pub is a short drive away. We had a relaxing 2 weeks and would thoroughly recommend it.

“Arrived with food for fridge and freezer for week, to find fridge dirty and freezer box completely iced up.”

Cutlery and plates dirty and crumbs in cupboards. Spent two hours cleaning. Hairs in bathroom. Main bedroom smelt of dogs. Next day found dog poo in garden. Two days later hoovered floors, to find lots of dog hairs in carpets, which I hoovered up and left in a bag for owner. We did not use any of cupboards and drawers for our belongings, and only washed up crockery and cutlery that we would be using. In sykes information it mentioned, cushions,books, games, dvds, oven gloves etc. would be removed from properties, this was not the case, there was plenty of these items. Due to covid we thought extra cleaning would be done. Informed owner, who said these complaints were not covid related. Apart from all this, we had a lovely week weather-wise, and the location is perfect.

“A very warm, cosy and comfortable cottage, with a superb outlook over the sea.”

We will really miss that super view! there was a good sized, fully fenced in garden, great for just sitting in and looking out to sea, and also just the job for children or dogs to play in. The bungalow contained all you could want for a holiday, and the chocolates and milk awaiting our arrival were greatly appreciated. Books, TV, DVD, games etc were all provided, in case the weather turns wet.There were no wi-fi or washing machine, but who needs those when you're on holiday?! The double bed was very comfortable - very difficult to drag yourself away from in the morning! The local area had a good general store, a cafe and an excellent fish and chip shop, all within a couple of minutes walk. Also there were lots of interesting places to visit locally, including boat trips and self drive boat hire on the nearby Norfolk Broads. If you enjoy seafood, a visit to nearby Happisburgh is essential, where a local shop is crammed with all sorts of delicious seafood, including Cromer Crabs.We thoroughly recommend "Seaclose", and hope to visit again in the future.

“Just spent an amazing week at Seaclose and despite the really windy conditions we felt cosy and safe inside the cottage.”

The cottage did shake when the tide was in and the massive waves hit the seawall but amazing to sit safely indoors and listen to it. Not sure I'd like it quite so much in the summer as the Norfolk Coastal path runs alongside the garden so people can see straight in to the cottage but not a problem in a windy March as the few people who were walking past were tucked up inside their hoods. However garden is good size and nice and secure so we could let the dogs out for a run without fear of them getting out. Cottage is well equipped and the local paper, chocolates and milk on arrival were much appreciated. Did have an issue with the boiler during our stay but phone call to the owner resulted in engineer attending within a few hours to fix it. Would go again - thank you

It was warm and cosy with everything needed. The owner was lovely and very helpful. My two dogs loved the freedom being free to chase each other around the large safe garden. The double bed was new and very comfortable even though others have said to the contrary. I would love to visit again earlier in the year when the sun is shining. The closeness to the sea was unbelievable.

We did not have brilliant weather but it didn't matter. The bungalow was warm and cosy with tremendous views. The local shop stocked everything, with post office and cash machine. The fish and chip shop and cafe were excellent too. Plenty of places to walk my dog and a secure garden. We will certainly be booking again......perfection.

“The cottage is in the most beautiful position amazing sea views from 3 sides with a very large fully enclosed garden, which was perfect for our dog, we sat out every day drinking tea, watching ships come in eat.”

The cottage itself is clean, well maintained and has everything you need for your stay including binoculars ,dvds, books etc. The bed was lovely and comfy and the bedroom boasted yet another sea view. The kitchen although small had a full sized cooker ,fridge eat and well equipped utensils. The lounge was perfect lovely and comfortable amazing views of the sea, the chocolates and milk tea and daily newspaper where very welcome to, all in all a perfect getaway comfy peaceful, just the place to unwind even the weather was good in Oct. We will definitely be returning.

“Couldn’t sleep on the bed as it had 2 mattresses one on top of the other which kept sliding off the bed.”

Skirting boards and arms of sofa not cleaned at all for goodness knows how long, thick dust on both. Kitchen utensils covered in grease. Plates were chipped. We ended up cutting our stay short as husband had a chest infection which was irritated by the damp smell in the bedrooms.

“Had a lovely week at Seaclose with the kids and dog.”

Perfect seaside location, great to be so close to the water to be able to see and hear the waves rolling in. Had good weather so were able to swim in the sea and make good use of the beach. You do need to check the tides though if planning some time on the beach as at high tide the sea is all the way in to the sea defence wall. Walcott is small, but there's a well-stocked shop, lovely cafe and chippy and great food at Poacher's Pocket pub (dog friendly and 10 mins walk along the seafront). Excellent location too for travelling around Norfolk, particularly enjoyed Happisburgh beach and lighthouse just down the road. Accommodation is comfortable and clean and tidy. It is fairly basic, however I wasnt expecting luxury from either the description of the property or the price we payed. Location would attract us back to Seaclose in the future.

“Wonderful place with good sized secure garden for the dogs, and with fabulous views of the North Sea.”

Ramp to the beach was slippery so care is needed and access only available at low tide unless you walk along the sea wall for 500 yards. There are also good beaches at Happisburgh (also with brilliant pub - with its own micro brewery- and splendid fish shop stuffed with Cromer crab and local fish) and at Cart Gap. Great place which we will return to and would thoroughly recommend.

“Excellent location which is what I wanted.”

Fabulous views and good garden for the dog to rule for a week. Good parking. Two mattresses on top of one another on the double bed made sleep difficult, the only good thing was they made the view from bed magnificent. The mattresses on the bunk beds also need replacing. Three light bulbs not working, 1 tea towel for the week, two bath towels for a week? The cottage would benefit from a guest folder with information, (like the drawer in the bed which held more tea towels which we only discovered on our last day. ) We enjoyed out holiday but felt more could be done for little expense to make the cottage outstanding.

!!! lf I could I would live there!! Seaclose was FANTASTIC, warm, everything I needed and more. Garden fab, enclosed for my dogs, who loved it. Double bed was lovely and comfy! Shop just down the road. Cafe near shop served a brilliant breakfast! Didn't get to try chippy this time. I could go on and on ..... so glad I booked Seaclose even in November. We were met with a carton of milk and a box of chocolates which was very sweet. The location is brilliant if you want the beach and the garden is very dog friendly with good fencing and chicken wire over the entry gate to stop smaller dogs slipping through gaps. We had brilliant weekend and will definitely be going back. Seaclose would be a perfect location if it had WiFi, and this is the only reason why I didn't give it a 10 out of 10.

“We really enjoyed our week.”

It was fabulous hearing the waves crashing on the beach outside. The cottage looked lovely on first appearance and had all the basics you needed. If I'm being really picky, there was only one tea-towel, one kitchen sponge and one toilet roll. This could be a problem if a family had booked it with a couple of children. We also noticed some damp with mould patches in the corner of the main bedroom. I'm sure it's unavoidable given the location but wouldn't be good for guests with allergies.

Stayed with hubby and one small dog. Very clean and comfortable, very warm to come back to in the October evenings although we had some lovely sunny days. Cosy well kept bungalow had everything we needed and fantastic views of the sea. Safe enclosed garden for our dog. Access straight out of garden gate to the beach and wonderful coastal walks. Well stocked shop just yards down the road and two local pubs within 1/4 or 1/2 mile.

It was bigger than I expected from the description. The property was light and airy, with spectacular sea views. The garden was safe for our dog and there was lots of seating provided in various parts of the garden. The location was ideal and near to a shop, excellent chip shop and dog friendly pubs. The cottage was ideally situated for walks on the coastal path. The cottage was an ideal base for exploring the coast and The Broads.

The property

Set just a few yards from the beach, this detached wooden cottage is located in the seaside village of Walcott near to North Walsham in Norfolk. All on the ground floor, this comfortable cottage is perfect for a small family looking to spend time on the beach. This Norfolk coastal cottage has sea views from most rooms and features a comfortable sitting room, a fitted kitchen and two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with bunks, a great place for the kids to retreat to. Outside this cottage are a private patio area and a large lawned garden which looks directly on to the beach, a wonderful spot for a morning coffee or an evening drink as the children and dogs play in safety. The village of Walcott is popular with holidaymakers and contains a couple of shops and a pub. Either side of Walcott are the resort villages of Happisburgh and Mundesley, whilst a few miles inland is the town of North Walsham with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Take a day trip to the Norfolk Broads or drive down to Norwich to spend a day visiting the cathedrals or indulging in some retail therapy. A lovely beachfront cottage, perfect for a Norfolk coastal holiday all year round.

WALCOTT

North Walsham 6 miles; Cromer 14 miles; Norwich 18 miles.

Walcott is a lovely coastal village that sits right in the middle of the Norfolk coastline, with many small and friendly coastal villages nearby; Bacton where the ruins of Bromholm Priory and Bacton Woods can be found, Happisburgh with its impressive lighthouse, and Mundesley with its fine sandy beaches are to name but a few. The name Walcott is derived from the Celtic word Walecote, which means "village by the wood". It is an ideal place for walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, bird watching or simply relaxing and enjoying the many views. Walcott is also a great location for exploring the beautiful scenery of the Norfolk coast, as well as the famous Norfolk Broads. Further inland there are plenty of famous National Trust properties to visit, such as Blickling, Felbrigg and Holkham Halls, or why not visit the historic city of Norwich, with its beautiful Norman Cathedral and Castle, and of course spend your money in the many shops, pubs and restaurants on offer.
