An excellent place to stay, very comfortable and cosy.

We used it as a base for visiting the area and to retire to at night in a quiet little area was superb. Enclosed garden was essential and brilliant for our dog. I would have liked a gate between the front and rear as it was easy for a dog/child to disappear behind the house and could be lost if the gate had been left open by a visitor (which it was when we were there as it was pre-elections so we had a few vote for us leaflets). depending on your phone provider, service inside was iffy for calls, but ok otherwise. But even so, we would be happy to return in the future. Great place overall.

Excellent, peaceful, lovely country location just a 10 minute walk into the village of Ludham where there is an outstanding pub / restaurant with the most friendly staff, also in the village is a well stocked convenience store incorporating a Post Office, opposite the store is a petrol station with full garage facilities.

When we arrived just a little early at 27 Whitegates the owner was just about to leave but instead stayed a while and showed us around the house, answering any questions we had about the house and the area which we found very helpful. The house was very clean and comfortable with all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay including a washing machine and excellent WiFi reception. As we were staying more than a week the owner returned with fresh bedding and towels etc, all at a day and time agreed with us in advance. We had our little dog with us and we found the garden very secure which enabled him the freedom to roam alone !! Off road parking was just as described, space easily for 2 cars if required. An interestingly quiet location surrounded by farmland, good walks directly from the house with a quintessential Norfolk village on the doorstep

The house was clean well equipped and warm.

The owner was there to greet us and gave us a welcome gift of bread milk strawberries cookies and apple juice made locally which was a nice surprise My only thing that I would say the house needs is a slow cooker and air fryer so after a long day out walking you could come back to a dinner ready in the slow cooker or quicker times in the air fryer but other than that it was a lovely week

Excellent.

This is the second time I have stayed at 'Whitegates' it is a spotlessly clean but welcoming and comfortable holiday home. The garden is pleasant and secure for a dog or children and lovely walks through the fields to How Hill nature reserve .Several beaches are within about 11 miles and Norwich very easy to get to , plus many other places to go to close by.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property.

It was in the perfect location for us to get to the places we wanted to visit. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The area is lovely and quiet and we ate breakfasts while watching the birds on the feeder outside. Mark the owner was welcoming (we really appreciated the milk, bread etc on arrival) and gave us lots of local information which was interesting and helpful. I found the stairs tricky, as they are steep and the treads aren't very deep, so if you struggle with mobility they might be a bit daunting.

Great place to stay.

Thoughtful presentation, uncluttered and very comfortable. Proximity of the village centre, pub and local shop was very good.

As above, clean, comfortable, well appointed and essentials provided.

Good position to get to places of interest and within low mileage. Nice, neat garden and outdoor places to sit and eat. Car parking, too. Mark on hand with any queries, of which there were none.

We had a lovely time, well equipped and clean ,garden well enclosed for our dog charlie.

we found the kings arms the best local place for food ,roast dinner Sunday and Wednesday. A lovely place to go poppyland near horsy gap back into the 1940s .mark greeted us and was very helpful

house nice and clean every thing working fine plenty of parking and well placed for touring around Norfolk, garden well kept and great for dogs

I found the cottage to be conveniently situated for visits to The Broads , lovely beaches and Norwich .

The garden is completely safe for a dog or children and there are several peaceful walks from the doorstep that we enjoyed. Mostly Whitegates is very clean ( a couple of issues that the owner is going to resolve) and very comfortable . I hope to be able to go back.

Property comfortable, good walks from the door good location.

Could do with upgrading in the bathrooms and cleaning in these areas otherwise a relaxing holiday.

In a week of pretty awful July weather.

No27 was the star of the show! Cosy, comfy, spacious, well equipped, with great views over fields and a pretty garden, it provided an ideal base to explore the area as well as a refuge. Even the central heating worked. (Not a sentence you expect to use in a July property review!) We really liked it and our grandson loved the house. "Better than home". I would happily recommend No27 at any time of the year and hope to return next year. KD

A very well equipped and comfortable cottage in a lovely peaceful location.

A fully enclosed garden was great for our dog. We were met my Mark the owner, he had left us lots of provisions, bread, butter, milk, cereals, treats for our dog to name a few. Thanks very much.

Had a lovely holiday nice ,welcome pack lovely,garden for Milo the patterdale to play in, could benefit from a holder for the soap dispenser instead of being on the top of the flush button for the toilet.

What a fantastic week we had starting with the owners generous welcome package.

House was warm and clean with xmas decorations, so thoughtful.

The property was brilliant, everything was thought of even down to hand towel in the kitchen, bin liners, foil, food bags, that a lot of people don’t think of.

We only stayed 4 nights so wasn’t expecting the very thoughtful provisions left. The property was clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again when staying in this area.

We had a very pleasant stay at 27 Whitegates, the host left us plenty of supplies and goodies and even a treat for the dog, the garden was very secure and our English Springer loved it.

The local butchers had fantastic sausages and the local pubs carvery on the Wednesday was outstanding. The only fault I could find was the shower but apart from that the house was lovely and for the first time ever had a proper nonstick frying pan and a working tin opener kudos to the host.

Very quiet location, but with an amazing number of interesting places and things to visit. House is very well equipped, with everything we wanted. Lots of birds in the well kept garden, which has a nice secluded patio

This is a lovely property in a quiet location.

The owner has thought of everything providing many treats and practical things on arrival and is extremely well equipped. The garden is totally secure for dogs and the bed is so comfortable, it is easy to over sleep. Lovely area to explore. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic house in a wonderful peaceful location.

Close to all broads/coast/places of interest. Completely enclosed, dogproof garden front and back. Owners have gone above and beyond after I stupidly left something behind. In 15 years of holiday rentals in this country this is the best equipped I have ever stayed in. Cannot rate highly enough, superb, if I could give more than 5 stars I would :)

Property was comfy, clean and well stocked and i really enjoyed my stay.

It was so nice of Mark to welcome me personally and give me information about the area, pus the goodies he left. It was also good to have a hairdryer, one thing less to pack next time, and a really secure garden for my little dog. I found the keysafe difficult to open, but that's mostly due to my arthritic hands. I shall definitely return here

We were welcomed to the property by Mark who had provided a generous hamper of goodies for us.

Everything was so clean and tidy in the property and the views from the bedroom window overlooked a field which was so nice. At night it was so quiet and peaceful - all you could see were the stars in the sky. The bedroom had a TV for us to use, which was very convenient. There was a good sized fridge/freezer for us to store food during the two week stay which was a bonus. The enclosed garden was perfect for our little dog and we knew that she could not escape from any part of the garden. All in all, this was a perfect holiday property for us with the shop close by for provisions plus an excellent butcher as well.

It would be better if there was a walk in shower rather then one over the bath .

We oldies find it difficult to get in /out a bath. On the good side one of the best welcome packs we have had anywhere, a nice place in quiet location.

In a great location, lovely and peaceful and a great base for exploring the area. Wonderful welcome from Mark the owner, who also left us a wonderful selection of supplies to get our holiday off to a great start. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this little house, we stayed for nearly 3 weeks and enjoyed the quietness, the beautiful surroundings.

Our stay 30/10/21 to 6/11/21 The house was very clean with a lovely good sized garden which was good for our dog as well as us.

The owner left essentials (tea, coffee, bread, butter, eggs, milk, biscuits etc) so we didn’t have to rush out for anything. He also supplied essentials for washing dishes etc. Overall our stay at the house was a good experience and I highly recommend the property to others. Glenn

Really good welcome pack and friendly owner who met us on arrival. All in all, highly recommended.

The stair bannister is not secured promptly but we managed and it didn't worry us to much

He also left tea, coffee, bread, eggs, milk, apple juice, tomatoes and strawberries which was unexpected but, most welcome - thank you again, Mark. The property was extremely clean and offered all the amenities needed for our stay so what else can you say.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location, giving easy access (sometimes just by walking from the door) to the Broads as well as the coast just a short drive away.

The cottage was very well equipped, very comfortable, with everything in excellent working order. The welcome provisions were first class. One of the reasons we chose this cottage was because the garden was enclosed and secure. We weren't disappointed. It was very safe to let our small dog out, to enjoy the garden. Finally, speaking of the garden. It was beautifully maintained. An added bonus. Watching the birds on the feeder was a pleasure. Thank you very much. We would definitely come here again if we return to Norfolk.

The location of this property is quite rural.

So it's a get away from the busy ratrace of normal life. The birds, which come and feed on the bird feeder are so entertaining too! The house itself has everything you need a real home from home!

The kitchen was really well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the garden and the sunsets were perfect.

I don't think the photos do it justice which is why I've said it exceeded expectations. The location was wonderful, so rural and quiet. Loved having views from my bed over looking fields. Right within the Broads and a good base for exploring the area. We did lots of walks straight from the house which were beautiful. Also easy access to the sea. The enclosed garden was great for our rather nervous lurcher. So quiet and a great fence! Village shop and butcher both useful.

No, all good apart from the weather !

Owner met us on arrival and had provided basic provisions which was helpful.

Property was well furnished and spacious on a quiet road with ample driveway parking. It has a lovely enclosed garden which was great for our dog (dog bowls & treats also provided) This is a great base for both coast and broads and has every home comfort as on the last day of our holiday we experienced storm Alex. Our power went off at 10pm on the Friday evening and was still not on again as we left to go home on the Saturday morning. We did inform the owner. The only negative I would have is that the owner did not contact us to check that we were alright during the power loss. He had provided one small torch. We would definitely return to this property.

This property was exactly a described, the proprietor supplied bread, milk, fruit juice, apples, tea and coffee.

He also met us there to make sure everything was okay. It was a brilliant experience, and one we will repeat in the future.

On arrival we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the host, with supplies of milk, bread, fruit and many other basic essentials. The house was spotlessly clean and tidy. We would certainly look at making a return at some point in the future. I would definitely recommend this holiday home - I give it five stars!
