“A very pleasant accommodation in a perfect location my only point .”

The accommodation was a bit worn it needed a very good deep clean i open a window znd it was covered in cobwebs in the frame not a few days but years sorry for that

“We have stayed here on quite a few occasions now.”

The cottage has everything you can think of at hand. Heating system is excellent and can override when required Bed is comfortable and get a good nights sleep Kitchen is well equipped, however the oven does take a long time for cooking and no light for checking, o always have to open the oven door. Hob is old so not as quick cooking. Fridge has an ice box inside. Living room has like other rooms exposed beams which I lovely to see Bathroom is big, yet shower is over the bath so more difficult but grab rail is there to help, shame as roomy enough to have separate shower unit. Only niggle is that there are no extra bin bags available to use nor light bulbs. All things considered mind will be using again next year.

“Excellent location, very quiet, easy access, spacious rooms, bath was not non slip (shower over) washing machine advertised, BUT no powder / gel supplied, remember to take some.”

No bread knife provided, other cottages did have one. no baking tray other than the main grill pan. vacume cleaner and brushes stored in wardrobe, along with clothing!! No wecome park other than 1pt of milk (we had brought our own on the way)

“Been to Willow last year and just as enjoyable this time round.”

Plenty of parking, spacious cottage, well equipped ( a tea cosy would be good!) comfortable bed and lovely courtyard in which to enjoy summer weather until dusk. A good central point to explore Norfolk.

Cottage was lovely and roomy with lots of extras,on the whole the cottage was clean apart from the beams in the bedroom which were very dusty with lots of cobwebs and bugs ,which we had to vacuum as it was right over the bed but the big let down was the patio area,which needed a good clean plus the table and chairs out there were old and grubby,

“It was a pleasure to stop at Willow.”

Willow was just what we wanted in case the weather changed. Willow was comfy and clean, and there was plenty of space for us to move about. Our out side space was small but private. There was only two things that we could pick up on. one was that nearly all the doors creaked when opening and closing. Easily resolved with WD40. The second was that the external doors needed draft excluders around edges, because on windy days there was a draft. Even though there was these minor problems we would gladly like to come back and stay if we were ever in the area again. Many thanks for a very pleasant stay

“We were really impressed with the spaciousness and comfort of the cottage and indeed the courtyard layout of the cottage complex.”

If there was any slight disappointment it was that the so-called private courtyard was cut off from the main courtyard and wasn't very inviting. We never did use it. Other than that, many thanks.

There were stains and marks on the settee, curtains, walls and light shade, the kitchen smelt stale.

“This is our 4th visit to Willow, and as always it was immaculately clean, and the addition of two new blue sofas was a welcome improvement.”

Our stay was generally very pleasant, but we feel that it is time to replace the mattress which is very lumpy and showing its age by the number of people having slept on. Sadly, in the week we spent at Willow, I only managed about 4 hours sleep each night, as I was so uncomfortable. You also need to remove the wording of ‘spa Bath’ on your literature, as we discovered this was no longer in place.

“Willow cottage was much larger than we thought, all the rooms were a very generous size.”

Overall it was very comfortable and cosy, it was very cold when we were there so we appreciated the heating and hot water in abundance. It is a quiet location but slightly out of the way. Well equipped and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay.

“This is a great place to stay if you want tranquility.”

The price was very reasonable. The bed was very comfortable and facilities in the property were good. Having stayed at quite a few different places the only issue was the cleanliness. By and large it was good, but just misses the boat on being excellent. Wouldn’t deter us from rebooking though.

Acorn cottages are nestled in a gravelled courtyard of five properties and are situated in the tranquil village of Wood Norton amidst the Norfolk countryside. Sympathetically converted from former farm buildings, these single-storey cottages are ideally suited for those wishing to explore the glorious North Norfolk coastline and the picturesque, historic nearby market towns of Fakenham and Holt. Each of these cottages offers bright, spacious accommodation, traditionally furnished with modern facilities. Well-equipped and welcoming, they share a large, sheltered courtyard and have the benefit of their own private patio where you can relax and unwind. For the younger members of the family, the cottages have a splendid communal play area with swings, a slide and a table tennis room. WOOD NORTON

Guist 2 miles; Fakenham 6 miles; Holt 9 miles.

Wood Norton is a small village in rural north Norfolk, close to the market town of Fakenham. Just two miles from Wood Norton is the village of Foulsham which has a local shop and a pub with a restaurant. Fakenham is just six miles away and is home to a national hunt racecourse and has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. The popular market town of Holt is close by and is well known for a wonderful array of independent food stores, craft shops, tea rooms and restaurants. Further afield are the seaside villages of Wells and Blakeney as well as the more traditional resorts of Cromer and Sheringham. The cathedral city of Norwich is a wonderful location for a day out, plus there are many National Trust properties in the area just waiting to be discovered.
