“We’ve hired many a self catering place over the years but you really couldn’t wish for a better bolt hole to spend a week….”

or two! An amazing space for a group of 6-8 people, spacious enclosed garden, perfect if you own a dog and you also want a bit of privacy. Hot tub, garden chairs, loungers, large table to sit and eat at. Inside is a wonderful little rabbit warren downstairs. The bunk beds with separate shower room and loo plus the king bedroom with en-suite is on the ground floor. Upstairs two other bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Downstairs the kitchen is amazingly well stocked with pans, dishes, crock ware cups and glasses. We managed to cook up a roast dinner and had plenty of serving dishes etc to achieve this without any hassle. Biggest dining table you could ask for when self catering for the larger group. TV lounge spacious and very comfortable, two other rooms including a conservatory if you want to peel off from your group for a bit of quiet time. Even a utility room with washer & dryer, airier or pegs and basket if the weather is good to hang your swimming costumes outside on the line provided. Winterton on sea is just delightful, sea, sand dunes and cafés for a cuppa and something to eat after a long beach walk. If you want something less challenging underfoot (the sand dunes can be a bit hard on the ole calf muscles! :0) Sea Palling beach is a short drive with again a lovely sandy beach and café. Norwich, beautiful architecture and shopping plus is a short train ride from Gt Yarmouth if you don’t fancy driving. Evening eating, take aways available nearby and the Fisherman’s Return is a must, generous portions, lots of inside and outside seating with a friendly atmosphere. Finally, Nick the owner gives you all the information you require at the start of your holiday with contact numbers if you have any questions or problems (which we didn’t) lovely guy who deserves a five star review for offering a wonderful place to spend your holidays - thank you Nick

The property

A large, detached holiday home resting in the charming seaside village of Winterton-on-Sea on Norfolk's coast, Fallowfield is a wonderful choice for a multi-generational escape. Offering ground-floor living, a fabulous hot tub, and spacious living areas, Fallowfield is a contemporary dwelling, ideal for families seeking a scenic break to Norfolk, within easy reach of Great Yarmouth. Enter onto the drive and park several cars here before closing the gates, heading inside and straight into the snug, boasting plush seating to relax on after a fun-filled day, leading into the conservatory which overlooks the garden. Make your way to the kitchen to reveal a sleek fitted kitchen enjoying an American style fridge/freezer among the appliances. The heart of the home is surely the huge living and dining room, with space enough for the whole group to comfortably come together following the day's adventures, with several sofas, a 55" Smart TV (with a Sky package including Sky Sports) and a large dining area, perfect for spending quality time with your loved ones. Head out of the large bi-fold doors from here and enjoy the beautiful garden, whether taking a dip in the relaxing hot tub, dining alfresco at the outdoor patio furniture, or playing games on the lawn with the family. The ground floor also boasts two bedrooms, the first being a master king-size bedroom with a large dressing area leading into an en-suite bathroom, perfect for the older generation in the group or those with mobility issues. The second bedroom contains a full-size bunk bed and is serviced by the ground-floor shower room. Take the stairs to the first floor and find a further two bedrooms, consisting of a twin and a king-size, with a bathroom up here, so there's plenty of places for all to freshen up before or after your activities. Fallowfield lies just outside the centre of the village, with Winterton-on-Sea local shop and pub lying just over half a mile away, perfect for picking up any essentials or enjoying a well-earned pint following a big day. The public footpath leading to the Winterton Dunes National Nature Reserve is just a short walk from the front door of Fallowfield, and the famous dunes are widely considered to be the best in Norfolk, the beach is also just a stone's throw away, offering a vast stretch of beautiful, golden sands, and much quieter than its neighbour further down the coast in Great Yarmouth. Wander the nature reserve behind the beach and if you're feeling energetic, enjoy a lovely circular walk through the dunes, back across the fields, and through woodland into the village. If you're visiting in winter, walk north up to Horsey and sit tight in the viewing point to see a special sight of seal pups being born on the beach, undoubtedly a memorable holiday moment! Nearby is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens home to big cats, crocodiles and many more, along with Hirsty's Family Fun Park and Lost World Adventure Golf. Visit the remains of Caister Castle and Caister Roman Fort, with more for history enthusiasts in Great Yarmouth at the Time and Tide Museum of Great Yarmouth Life. This seaside resort is bursting with attractions from the exciting roller coasters and rides on the beachfront, to the Merrivale Model Village, SEA LIFE centre, and beautiful Venetian Waterways. Venture into the Norfolk Broads for a host of walking routes and opportunities for kayaking and canoeing amidst picturesque scenery. Enjoy a fun-filled break to Norfolk from the tranquil setting of Fallowfield.
