The Long Barn

The place was a lovely well located ,you could go anywhere around the broads with out any problem and the owners where very friendly hope to return some time.

We had a lovely stay, the place was very comfortable and had real character too.

I loved the ceiling beams and the chandelier in the master bedroom.

We positively loved staying there!

Joanne was very friendly and helpful. The Barn had been very well designed and thought through. Definitely will go back.

One slight drawback is noise from the main road, but otherwise a fantastic cottage and my children especially loved it

Just back from a lovely long weekend.

The barn was comfortable and nicely equipped. However one downside was that the third bedroom was very small, more suited to children. The hosts were lovely and very helpful when needed.

A well maintained, pretty cottage.

Plenty of room and all presented to a high standard. Joining Instructions brief but accurate. One of the two smaller bedrooms has a large drawer unit between the beds. This is a little large and caused a few knocks over the weekend. Only two very minor comments. There is a small ant problem in the bathroom- the owners did warn us though. We could not find any salt and pepper. All in all a great place to base yourself in the area.

Our family stay here was just incredible.

I wasn't sure on the size from the photos so was worried it would be small but it was so spacious. The fact they have a utility room before you enter your property is just a fantastic idea and let's you clean everyone from sand and mud etc before entering. The storage room is also so helpful as you can unpack properly and hide your suitcases to feel mode homely. We had a small issue with ants but the owner helped us straight away. The location is fantastic and not far from anything. The beds were super comfy and the underfloor heating was a plus for us!!!! It is a little noisy at night being on the main road but you soon get used to it. Overall we would definitely come back if they would have us!!!

Very clean & comfortable property with plenty of parking.

It is situated central of Norfolk, so you are only a 40 minute drive from beaches to the north & east. The shared utility area was great for drying off the dogs and washing wellingtons. (Quite muddy dog walks nearby in February!). Would have liked a clock in the open planned area & a TV in the main bedroom, but this did not detract from a wonderful stay. We definitely would return to this property.

Comfortable, clean and well appointed accommodation.

Very pleasant stay. More specific directions would be helpful, such as "entrance to property is opposite junction with Marl Hill Road." This would have saved c. 30 mins searching, as satnav directions take you left out of Marl Hill Road, well past the property which itself is not very prominently signed.

We had a perfect stay at the Long Barn, the accommodation was great and had everything we needed.

It was a lovely touch that Joanne, the owner knocked to check everything was ok. We enjoyed sitting outside one evening with a glass of wine on the swing bench in the private seating area opposite in the corner. The attention to detail provided by the owners was first class and much appreciated, for example welcome biscuits etc. We had a thoroughly nice time in Norfolk which was enhanced by the inviting atmosphere of the Long Barn.

We spent a week in the Long Barn, it is a lovely conversion, completed to a high standard with everything you need to have that home from home holiday.

Look forward to going again.

They have thought of everything. The barn is spotless well equipped. Lots of places to visit. The owners are friendly & nothing is too much trouble if you have a emergency would 100% recommend Gaynor & Carole

Good location for visiting attractions in Norfolk. Friendly and very helpful owner. The traffic noise is a little intrusive at times.

Great holiday let, just around the corner from some lovely Norfolk countryside and walks but close to Norwich as well.

Well appointed barn conversion with plenty of space would definitely look at staying here again as a base for visiting this part of Norfolk again.

The barn was spacious, cooking facilities we very good and the bath and shower were excellent.

Having never been to Norfolk before we felt that this was an ideal location to explore the area.

It wasn’t far from Norwich for a bit of culture and the coast was pretty close. Our accommodation was very well presented and Joanne and her husband very welcoming. Only one tiny criticism I felt there was a need for a shower mat to put in the bath when having a shower.

Excellent self catering accommodation with everything you could possibly need.

The Barn is located on quite a busy road but the bedrooms are situated the furthest away so not too noisy. Very friendly owners on hand or a phone call away with help if needed. Gravel drive which could have been tricky as we had a wheelchair user with us although we were able to park next to the main door to unload and get the chair inside so no real problem. Just be aware that the small single beds are only 5ft long, so wouldn’t suit everyone. Lots of places to visit around a 45 minute drive and some lovely beaches too. Overall a lovely stay and would definitely return.

I have been on self catering holidays for over 30 years and have never had such a well equipped kitchen before.

It would be a good idea to mention in the description of the property that in one twin room the beds are only 5ft. Not a problem for us but may be for others

We had a wonderful break at The Long Barn.

The barn was clean, comfortable and fully equipped. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The location is great for days out in Norfolk most drives took us less than 40 minutes.

It was a great place,everyone of us enjoyed the long barn and it's easy to go everywhere from there!

We definitely love to come back!

Nice property, well located for Norwich and Norfolk coast/beaches.

Nice/ friendly owners. Drawbacks which were not clear in the listing ( I think), are the main Norwich to Fakenham road is right next to the property and is really noisy, virtually from early morning till late in the night; also there is no real garden, just a smallish fenced-off gravelled area which is really part of the driveway between the houses, where guests and owners park their cars, if you were to use the area it would also be affected by the very loud road noise.

Not suitable for 6 adults as 2 of the single beds are child size and room was tiny, my 6ft guest really struggled and decided to leave early.

No garden for a dog and right on a noisy busy road so had to have our young dog on a lead at all times. Disappointing that there were no off lead walks without having to drive. Kitchen pedal bin broken so had to touch the lid to open. En-suite shower was stuck on hot. Owner was friendly. Good base for travelling around Norfolk. Barn was clean and double bedroom was pretty. The owner left provisions for beverages and biscuits for us. We discovered The Marriotts Way which was a short drive away and was suitable for off lead dog walks.

We had a great holiday, the hosts are lovely people and available if required.

The barn is very well equipped for cooking in and is in a good location to visit Norfolk,I would recommend and would return

Fantastic location for exploring the north Norfolk coast, of visiting local towns such as Holt which is very dog friendly, full of character, individual shops, coffee shops and charm.

We tend to park at Holt Country park £2.00 for the whole day , walk the dogs through the woods and then walk into Holt itself. Aylsham has a lovely dog friendly Biddies tearoom and is another lovely market town or going into the city of Norwich itself. The owners and cottage are very dog friendly and there are some amazing walks from the doorstep.

We were made most welcome with a box of necessities left for us on arrival and the owners checking we had everything we needed.

We had a lovely weekend and will definitely come and stay again. The property is in a great location for visiting various places in Norfolk which meant it was very relaxing once we arrived.

The barn convention is on a busy road so can be a bit tricky getting in and out of the Court yard but apart from that it is a great place to stay

Holiday cottage was very nice but I was very glad that I changed my mind and didn’t take my little dog the driveway being all large stones would be difficult to clean up poo.

Being so close to the road with heavy traffic the dog would need to be always on a lead no grass for the dog to just run about on .

This was an excellent holiday apartment.

We were most grateful to meet the very courteous and helpful owner on our arrival who most kindly added a chair for one member of the party. We hope we may be able to return on another occasion.

There was only 1 slight downside, the road was very busy and quite noisy in the evening other than that would definitely stay here again though.

Lovely setting and great base to explore the Norfolk coast.

We had a seven day stay but unfortunately didn't tick the full list we had prepared which says it all. Will come back soon. ps The only negative was I felt the need for a couple of decent sized mirrors., possibly full length in two of the bedrooms.

Had a lovely 5 days, only downside is the busy road!

We had an absolutely fantastic time and our hosts were exceptional.

Every little detail had been thought of even down to a Christmas tree. A real home from home experience.
