“House is nice but in need of TLC/maintenance.”

Too much to mention but main ones listed below. In less than an hour of us being there and my baby crawling on the living room floor his feet and legs were black with dirt. When setting up the cot upstairs in the main bedroom there were clumps of long blond hair on the floor. In general lots of dust/cobwebs etc in easy clean places. I understand the quick turnaround especially in summer but this is surely below anyone’s standards? The floors boards creak everywhere. I underestimated the previous comments of how loud it is. We appreciate it’s an old barn but I’ve never heard anything like it. It wakes up those in the room and in the room below. The doors also creak (on main bedroom and mezzanine bathroom). In the main bedroom the beds also creak with any movement and could be heard in the room below, so ear plugs are a must. The boards are also uneven and broken in parts which is not suitable for toddler (even though it’s named a family room). None of the blinds/curtains are any good - you’ll be up with the sun. We would never expect blackout blinds but at least enough darkness to not be woken. The only person that got good sleep was in the single. Advertised as having 4 bathrooms - it doesn’t. There are 3 en-suites and a cloakroom so person in single room had to use an en-suite to shower. From the photos looks like there is a front grass area - however, believe this is where the septic tank is, also covered with wild animal faeces so no dog friendly areas. We also had to pick up other peoples dog poo from the gravel garden. Such a shame as it’s a good, big space, lovely layout and great location. It has so much potential but needs attention. What’s more frustrating is all the issues we had, have been mentioned previously so seems a shame that the owners aren’t actually rectifying it but still charging a lot for rental. Disappointed we booked. Would not return or recommend - sorry.
