Good first impressions.

Garden lovely, plenty of cupboard space, a bonus. Had asked about fan being provided and reply was negative and told property was cool. We took our own which was needed as extremely hot days. Previous reviews had mentioned the rug in living room being a trip hazard and still was. The runner in hall not required. Shower had reviewd about lack of temperature control and this was still an issue. We recommend a feather duster to extract the spiders, a fan, a long handled dustpan and brush. Also the vacuum cleaner was heavy and clumsy to use. We recommend a cordless lightweight vacuum. Our dog doesn't shed, but others do. Overall a pleasant stay, but a little tlc required.

Ideally situated in the small quiet village of Overstrand.

The garden was perfect for our Greyhound. The bungalow was clean & well appointed. A sun umbrella for the garden would have been very welcome & the mat in the lounge was a hazard but small easily rectified things.

Had a lovely time at the lobster pot , lovely garden , comfy bed , great view of the sea & a lovely area.

Just a couple of niggles to mention, shower has a mind of its own & could not control the temperature. It was either hot or hotter. Also the rug in the living room is a trip hazard , I saw that it had been taped to secure it but it needs more tape tbh but would book again

We recently stayed at The Lobster Pot for a few nights with our Yorkshire Terrier The bungalow is gorgeous, patio doors onto the decking from the main bedroom, lovely to sit out with your morning brew Lovely decor, fabulous garden with a great summerhouse, and a lovely layout to the house Location is very good, a few minutes walk both to the beach and the local pub Lots of nice places to visit within a short drive, Cromer, Mundesley, Sheringham There is a convenience store in walking distance and larger supermarkets in Cromer We would stay here again should we go to Norfolk

What a wonderful little bungalow, it really is like ‘home from home’ everything you need there and the garden is to die for very special.

The only negative and is a very tiny one is the beautiful rug into the lounge is curling up and could be a huge health and safety tripping hazard, and the runner which again is beautiful and slide in the hallway, but these are very easily fixed things and that does not take away the fact that I will definitely be re-booking The Lobster Pot bungalow hopefully in the very near future, and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful property, clean and well equipped kitchen.

The only thing missing was an air fryer. Beautiful garden, perfect for my little dog. Perfect location for dog walking , countryside and beaches close by. The main bedroom has French doors to the garden, no window. It was very hot when we stayed and didn't feel safe enough to keep the doors open over night. We would definitely stay at the Lobster pot again, the slight niggles did not spoil our stay.

Absolute Gem small but perfectly formed !

Very peaceful slept very well beds comfortable no sound at night and the garden is excellent fully enclosed for a dog, the summer house at the end is also lovely but sitting in the decking at night listening to the wind rustling through the trees was my favourite spot . The accommodation was also lovely clean and fully equipped, the only negative thing was the shower could do with a new shower head and more power. Location also excellent not far to walk to Cromer along beach or cliffs and a really pretty village . Would not hesitate to go back !

Great location only 10 minutes walk down to the local beach or for a dog friendly walk all along the beach about 2 miles to Cromer. Great base for exploring North Norfolk.

We had another great holiday in The Lobster Pot.

The bungalow is in a quiet cul-de-sac and inside really seemed to have everything we needed. The garden was a lovely area for our dog to have a completely secure run around and the beach is also only a short walk away which is another bonus. We will return at some point.

Booked last minute, on the day of arrival.

So easy and prompt service from Sykes. On arrival to the property we felt at home. It was spotless and everything that you would need was there. Comfortable lounge, beds and beautifully presented. The location was very quiet as in no traffic or noise, it was so peaceful. The area was a perfect base for us to visit a number of National Trust locations to walk with our dog. Although it rained every day we made the most of it. Would we recommend this property? Most definitely, it has to be the best we have been to. The listing description was accurate. Is there anything else we would like to see at the property? Nothing it had everything we needed. Thanks for allowing us to holiday here for the week!

The kitchen is the best equipped of anywhere we have stayed and the walk in shower is brilliant.

The bed is very comfortable and it's nice to see the sea out of the window. Thank you for the wine and biscuits too. The only problems we had were trying to work out how to control the heating and opening the sitting room door over the rug, which we had to move. But these were minor when the accommodation was so lovely. It would be ideal for a holiday in nicer weather. We needed somewhere to stay really quickly while we had a plumbing issue at home and we were really impressed with how well we were able to cook for ourselves in the property and have a comfortable week.

Had a lovely short stay at The Lobster Pot.

Everything was perfect. Comfortable and well equipped, welcoming and warm when coming in out of the cold. Nice garden would be great in the summer but grandson loved going out to make a snowman! Bottle of wine was a nice touch, thank you.

Our second visit this year to the lobster pot.

It’s comfortable, with everything you need. Lovely garden, the dog loves it. Comfy beds. Our only complaint was the heating control. The weather was much colder this time and we had problems trying to get the thermostat to stay on. It kept reverting to the default setting of 17.5/18 deg. We also managed to leave our dog bed by the front door. Sorry about that.

This cottage in Overstrand is perfect for people with dogs and children with it's large well fenced garden and nice sea view.

Parking is very easy in the front for up to 2 cars. Inside is very nice with all you need for cooking, washing, dining and relaxing. A shop and pub selling good food is a short walk away. This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

The Lobster Pot is well equipped and furnished and is in a great position.

You can actually see the sea when standing at the French doors leading from the master bedroom. The garden and summer house are both huge bonuses although it would be even better with some outside lighting as the nights are drawing in. We were fortunate to have lovely weather and did find the master bedroom quite stuffy as there's no ventilation without leaving one of the French doors open. The layout of the lounge with the proximity of the sofa to the hearth meant that we inevitably stubbed toes on the heath for the first day or so as we walked from the kitchen to the hall - we soon learned our lesson! Overall we had a lovely time and would return.

We had a lovely stay at the Lobster Pot - very clean and everything you needed was provided - thank you for the wine and savouries - Didn’t find a guest book as I would have put information about the dog walks across the fields on Cromer road - we didn’t find these until the day before we left sadly - Maybe get the front door sorted as other guests had mentioned it too - we were happy to use the back way for our stay.

We have had a lovely relaxing holiday at the Lobster Pot.

Good facilities in an excellent location. Home from home - extremely comfortable. We are looking at returning next year for a longer stay.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

Bungalow was perfect, clean and comfortable with a lovely back garden which our cavapoo could play in safety. Situated on a quiet road, but within easy reach of beach and bus to Cromer if you wanted it. We usually walked along the beach to Cromer. Would stay again.

The Lobster Pot is a lovely, well maintained and spotlessly clean bungalow, in a very quiet avenue with the bonus of a beautiful garden and outdoor facilities AND a glimpse of the sea.

We discovered the hidden footpath at the end of the cul de sac which led us to the Norfolk Coastal Path and spectacular views out to sea. Thankyou for the complimentary bottle of wine and snacks. We had a slight problem with the front door lock jamming but reported it to Sykes for attention at change over. Overstrand is a nice little village in easy striking distance of many of North Norfolk's attractions, NT properties and the Broads. We would heartily recommend The Lobster Pot to future guests.

Great location.

We had a bungalow which was ideal for my elderly mother. It was very comfortable and we had a lovely time. We will certainly be going back

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lobster pot, it had everything we needed and more.

Made use of the outdoor furniture as it was a lovely week.Our dog enjoyed the secure garden.The front door wouldn't open one morning,we were able to go out the back door a lovely man called Andy came out,the door immediately unlocked! He recommended Sheringham park and Felbrigg Hall,which we enjoyed.

Well equipped Bungalow.

The bungalow had everything and more you could wish for in it.

We kept thinking oh we’ve forgotten … only to find one in a drawer or cupboard! Comfortable for 4 adults and a dog who loved the short walk to the beach which is accessed by a steep ramp (owners not so in love with the walk back up the steep ramp). The Whitehorse pub is dog friendly and provides good meals. Would love to stay there again!

Overall a good property with everything needed for a comfortable stay

So many cob webs in the rooms the main bedroom it ran almost the entire wall and ceiling the main radiator there was so much dust resting inside it had turned into a blanket form the front door was locked most of the time handyman was called twice and at one stage i was told i was not doing it right Opening a door!

,,,,,, gave up after that most of our stay we used the kitchen door and to think we paid just under £600 hope everyone enjoyed our money because we can’t say we enjoyed our stay

We had a really lovely break away and our stay in the Lobster Pot was great.

It had everything you would need, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa and beds and a good shower. Our dog loved the garden. It was so lovely to be able to see the sea from the bedroom windows. It’s a ten minute walk into Overstrand high street which has a shop, pub with great food and a lovely cafe by the beach. Great bacon baps and friendly staff. The only issue we had was with the front door lock sticking a few times. We just used the back door instead.

Access to the bungalow was simple with a key safe.

It was clean and well prepared for our visit, and very cosy, the kitchen had everything we needed. Garden was a real bonus, set in a great location, a very quiet cul-de-sac but close enough to walk into Cromer for fish and chips. We were really lucky with the weather had six days of sunshine, what a difference that made, but was very cold overnight. I understand that heating controls are via apps, my only criticism is if you can't access it and being early March it' did get cold in the bungalow in the late evening. I managed to extend the times manually on the controller. Lots of NT places close by to visit, best beach by a mile was Wells next the sea.

The bungalow was aliilt tight with four adults and a dog, not much information about how heating worded a d setting and what could be recycled, it was very cold heating only came on foa couple of hours in am and pm, had to use the electric fire when we there in the day

Enjoyable stay here.

Return visit.Never found instructions except for built-in oven.Found microwave instructions on youtube so was able to heat stuff as we are used to at home.Central.Heating instructions would have been handy but worked O.K. without any changes and supplemented by separate fire.Very cold outside but warm inside. Many thanks for wine and biscuits.

Perfect house for us. Everything we needed is provided and it is always clean and tidy. Beds are so comfortable. Near to Cromer where we arranged a click and collect grocery order. Thank you for another wonderful holiday!

Clean comfortable bungalow in a good place to explore NE Norfolk

The Lobster Pot was very comfortable and clean.

Has a lovely garden for our dog to run about in . From the bedroom window you can actually see the sea and take a walk down the road to a track which leads to the cliff top where you can walk down to the beach (if so desired as quite a walk back up ). Would recommend this property to family and friends.

Nice bungalow in a quiet cul de sac large enclosed garden.

Only criticisms really too small for four people especially with sofa. Trip hazard with fireplace surround too near to sofa. Wife stumbled against it on a number of occasions but luckily with no injury

Lovely little place for a holiday stay, very clean, hi-spec and comfortable.

I would highly recommend this place, the location is quiet, but very close to the beach and Cromer.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house is in a great location within a few minutes walk of the beach, local shop, pubs and a couple of very good restaurants.

The house is also very well maintained and to a high standard of cleanliness with a lovely enclosed garden and patio. We would certainly stay here again

A very well presented property in a great location for exploring North Norfolk.

The facilities were first class with a great garden that we enjoyed for meals and drinks. It was only a short walk into Overstrand which has a good pub and hotel, both of which served very good food.

The narrow sitting room was very poorly laid out, stuffed full to the brim with furniture, with no manoeuvre space around the raised marble fireplace: within a minute of being there, my 16 year old had stubbed their toe and after 15 minutes I had also done the same.

It was a massive issue for us with my elderly mother so we had to put a chair over the edge of the fireplace ledge, thus almost blocking the access past the sofa bed. I think it’s a massive health and safety issue tbh. Also, it’s dog friendly, but the night we arrived, the territorial deep barking from the other side of the fence was really intimidating for our small breed and a total nightmare for us. The next days, it was just small breed yapping but still not very relaxing. Pillows were dreamy.

This was an absolute gem.

Perfect location and accommodation. It was comfortable and immaculately clean. Everything you needed was provided. The garden was secure for the dog and parking great. Just loved it!

To be fair the majority of this property was excellent, however the towels were grubby looking and stained.

I would suggest not washed on a high enough washing cycle (I do have pictures to prove). Also some of the kitchen equipment was dirty/unusable - not checked by cleaner. We had to wash 4 dirty teaspoons, 2 saucepans and a dish before we could use them. The freezer in the top of the fridge was completely iced up with no room to put anything. I could not defrost it as I needed to use the fridge (the fridge/freezer in the shed at the bottom of the garden was not suitable due to the weather). This property was positioned well to access the village and coast.

We have had an excellent week in the Lobster Pot.

The property is beautifully decorated and furnished in a very tasteful way to the highest standards. It is particularly comfortable. We had a week’s rest and relaxation there. It is such a peaceful place. The garden and surrounding areas have been very well maintained – a difficult task for owners with the limited time at change over and such a Spring of bad weather. The welcome pack of drinks and biscuits was very kind and much appreciated. The folder of information was most helpful As Octogenarians we found the Rattan chairs on the decking comfortable so that we only ventured out for a newspaper and lunch. The lighting in the decking was most valuable (when we found the switch under a water proof cover outside the French Doors) The Overstrand Stores and Post Office staff were friendly and the shop well stocked. The Sea Marne Hotel in the village was excellent for lunch and light snacks (4 days out of 6!) good local pubs were at Northrepps and Bodham for the other days. We hope to return next year!

Would have been helpful if the absence of mobile phone signal had been mentioned, Coffee machine in the cottage information but not available.

No kitchen roll, Not happy to have to strip beds before departure. .

The property was well maintained and close proximity to local amenities and beach excellent all round

Lighting on the back garden decking would be really useful especially when my dog wanted to go into the garden in the evening, which he loved to run around in.

Also instructions on how to use the kitchen equipment would have been.. helpful, The property was very comfortable and clean and very well equipped . Well situated for visiting the Norfolk coast line We shall certainty return

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in this super little bungalow.

It’s a real home away from home with everything you could need. A lovely touch was the welcome pack with tea and coffee, shortbreads and a very welcome bottle of wine. After a couple of minor issues which a quick call to the owner quickly sorted out we settled in very easily. The garden is a real plus, we had great weather and managed breakfast on the decking and afternoon tea in the cosy and warm summer house. We would thoroughly recommend The Lobster Pot, clean, warm, comfy bed and a great location.

The Lobster Pot is a very cosy warm bungalow with everything we required for our stay within easy reach of Cromer and all it has to offer and within walking distance of the beach we would definitely recommend just a note to owner the shower head needs attention maybe a descale we would choose this holiday let again

We had a lovely holiday in this immaculate bungalow.

Unfortunately we had extremely strong winds overnight on the first night (Saturday) of our stay which blew a fence panel down. I messaged the owners as our little dog could escape into the neighbours garden and by the Tuesday a new panel had been fitted. We can't thank them enough! The only thing I would say about the bungalow is the fact that it has two double bedrooms we were supposed to be going as two couples. Unfortunately our friends were unable to come at the last minute but we would have struggled with space in the small lounge area if they had. There is a corner sofa which means only three people can sit comfortably with the fourth person having to sit in the corner with their legs squeezed between two others. Others should be aware of this but it was (for just two of us) a minor complaint in an otherwise perfect place. We would definitely like to return but it would be two or three of us, not four.

Return visit and very pleased that all was clean and fresh.

Found our way around heating controls which we found confusing previously.Instructions for this and appliances would be helpful.We were very warm.Issues with WiFi which was probably a local fault(which we also experienced at home).Enjoyed our stay as we found Cliff Top cafe and Royal Hotel at Mundesley still doing good food.

This is this nicest cottage we have stayed in!

It was perfect for us. The beds are so comfortable and everywhere was clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. The location was so peaceful but near to everything we needed. The beach is fabulous, but it is a steep walk! It was a perfect base to return to and relax with a hot drink after a chilly explore on the beach. We would love to return!

Cosy, comfortable warm cottage in a good location, lovely at this time of year but must be great in the good weather with great garden and outside space as well as being so near the sea.

Overstrand is an excellent location

We recently stayed at the Lobster Pot and had a few issues with the property which Sykes were extremely quick in sorting out for us.

As stated by other reviews the door is very difficult to use & as suggested by someone else who had stayed before us and had left a note, we used the kitchen door instead. We had no phone signal so used our phone through whatsapp whilst in the property. Obviously this is not the fault of the owner, but if we had not been able to get into the property, I don't know what we would have done. We could not find out how to switch on the towel rail and had to get in touch with Sykes for advice and it was dealt with extremely efficiently. It would have been helpful for clear instructions to be left in a prominent place on how to use the equipment in the property instead of us finding a biscuit tin without a label at the bottom of a drawer in the kitchen on our last day there.

Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely bungalow, my friend and I have really enjoyed our weeks holiday.

We are both disabled and therefore just wanted to bring a few points to your attention.. On the first day we had great difficulty opening the front door, (we noted that this was also a comment which had been left in the visitor book) luckily a neighbour was around who could help us and we used the patio door for the rest of the week. The other accessibility issue we found was that it was difficult to get down onto the lawn due to there being no handrail. When we did get down we definitely enjoyed playing with the boules set, thank you!! We found the lack of tables namely on the decking and in the lounge, quite inconvenient as we had no where to put our drinks. One of the things which attracted us to the bungalow was the lovely garden furniture for our use so it was disappointing there was only a bench outside. We did however very much enjoy our stay and I hope you don't mind me bringing these points to your attention. Best wishes Heidi Buckell

First time staying at the Lobster pot in Overstrand, the bungalow is very homely… decor and furnishings very nice, it is well equipped with everything one needs in the kitchen, very clean; bedding and towels spotless, beds extremely comfortable, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay .

The only slight issue we had was that the shower was extremely hot and we couldn’t seem to reduce the setting for some reason; This may be our error of course!

What a lovely stay we had.

The property was very well equipped, the owners thought of everything! Comfy beds! The enclosed garden was perfect for Oreo and we could let her out knowing she wasn't going to escape. Plenty of space for her to run around. Being able to see the sea over the trees was a bonus. Just a few minutes walk to the sandy beach with a good section that is dog friendly. It is a steep walk, but benches along the way for those that need it. Shop nearby as were cafes, restaurants and pub. About a 6 minute drive into Cromer. I wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a lovely stay at The Lobster Pot.

Clean and comfortable, and very convenient for the beach for dog walks. There is a little cut through, from the front garden turn left towards the end of the cul-de-sac, in the corner you'll find a pathway behind the bungalows. At the end of the path, turn left and walk along the road to the end and you are at the top of the cliff with a pathway down to the beautiful sandy beach. The dog beach is on the right side, there is a sign. It is steep coming back up! You can just see the sea from the bedrooms. The summer house was great to sit in and the scent of lavender from the garden added to the calm and peace of this great retreat.

We stayed at The Lobster Pot as a couple and the property was perfect for our needs.

However, the property does have a second bedroom with a double bed - depending on age of children this may or may not be suitable. If the house is aimed for two couples, the second bedroom ideally would have a small wardrobe rather than some of the other furniture. It was a lovely addition to have the French doors in the main bedroom which open onto a decking area and large very private garden.

Lovely enclosed garden for my dog. The pub is just a 5 minute walk from the property….lovely walk into Cromer and Trimingham along the cliftop, also a 20 minute walk through a country lane to Northreps….we had a very relaxing stay here

front door lock needs fixing very difficult to operate we used the side door as recomended by a recent occupier No instructions for how to use the appliances or the heating the lobster pot is a charming bungalow on a quiet cul desac needs attention to the above

Lovely cosy bungalow.

Nice furniture and well maintained. Close to sea which is great for taking dogs a walk. Outside gate ( kitchen side) large gap underneath gate so we were unable to let our dog go out in the garden unattended. Perhaps an outside side light would be useful as very dark down side entrance. Otherwise would really recommend a stay at the Lobster Pot. Thank you

The lobster pot is a lovely bright, comfortable bungalow.

It’s very clean and well equipped. In a peaceful location, 5 minutes walk to the sandy beach, which was lovely. It was very homely with lots of nice touches, Netflix, Alexa etc. The only small thing was there wasn’t a nonslip mat in the shower & the tray was pretty slippery. And one of our party was elderly and felt unsure when using it. Thank-you for a lovely break in Overstrand.

Located in a quiet area within an easy stroll to the beach and we appreciated the enclosed garden for our dog. The very well equipped kitchen only missing microwave instructions (not in the drawer) but we found the corkscrew easily!

The property was clean / spotless with essentials left for tea and coffee etc.

The property is a 10 minute walk to the beach, however there is a very steep long incline to get onto the beach itself. The White Horse pub / hotel is about 15 to 20 minute walk. There is also a shop next to the pub for essentials.

Wonderfull bungalow in a great location.

Everything you need for a self catering holiday. Fully enclosed garden, with plenty of sitting out areas Would have liked a washing line for drying dog towels and a better hoover for a dog friendly accomadation . Housekeeper does an excellent job. Guest book would be good to leave for others to read about places to visit. Great for walking to the beach and into cromer.

The property was nicely decorated and furnished.

However, we could not open the front door when we arrived and had to get a neighbour to help so used the patio doors instead. The waste water in the bathroom basin took an age to go away. We found the seating very low. The TV defeated us, we could only get BBC 1, 2 and 4. There was no handbook for the TV. And no handbook for the heating should we have needed it. There was no shaver point which did present a problem.

Excellent property.

Very clean with good quality furnishings and fittings. Great to have Netflix and Alexa (a novelty for us oldies). Nice to open cupboards and find some staples there (salt, pepper, spices, vinegars etc). Good bathroom with walk-in shower; all very clean indeed. Great enclosed garden area with a covered area to sit at the bottom. Barbeque provided. Good quiet location, 10 minute walk to village and beach (very pleasant). Good food at café on the front, local pub does food too. Great value for money - a lovey restful August break.

Located in lovely quiet area.

Great access to the beach. More than enough walks right on doorstep. A wee ‘thank you ‘ for the OS maps in bookcase, a great help and much appreciated, House perfect with all necessary equipment. Secure private back garden. Good pub and cafe close by. Village shop well stocked but be aware will only accept cash ( and most certainly not Scottish notes, so left empty handed)

Fabulous location, enclosed garden definitely great for our four legged companion.

I feel the bathroom could do with a good deep clean , the shower head has black mould on the shower head , and in the tiles ,the taps have lime scale on them , we had trouble with the tolet not flushing at all , I had to go to next door neighbour and ask if he would phone the owners as I could not get a phone signal on my mobile , the owner said ,you have to be gentle with it , now how can you be gentle with a tolet flush ?

The man next was very very kind and offered to look at it as be luck he was a retired plumber, he looked at the tolet only to find lime scale had built up around the water pipe ,stopping the water flow , and one part was broken ,which he replaced , we gave him £10 for his time in helping , I gave him the owners phone number so he could charge him for the replacement part ..as we are older folk having to clear crumbs etc of the floor was hard with the gadget they had for cleaning a hand held cleaner about 10 inches long , it really needs a broom or hoover .

A lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet location close to the Norfolk Coastal Path.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Lobster Pot.

We have a small dog and the garden was perfect, and quite the sun trap ! House was spotless and we appreciated the little touches like phone chargers already there and an Alexa. We were not in the cottage much as the weather was fab - path to a beach walk at the end of the cul de sac - walk to Cromer and back 2 miles each way all dog friendly. Mundsley beach was our favourite miles of dog friendly beach and kids had a great time body boarding. Enjoyed our meal at the Ship Inn there in their pub garden with sea views.

The bungalow was super a real home from home .

Beds Comfy and Our dog really enjoyed the large secure garden local pub dog friendly great food . We will definitely Book again for another visit
