The description was 100% correct.

My wife and I plus our small dog had a great week. As for location Norwich is about half an hour north, the coast is 30 minutes east. Get onto the Broads in the same time. The accommodation was great even dog chews for Bertie. We had eggs, bacon and sausage, for us. Two ponies and chicken's also on the farm. Walk around the grounds.

The nest box was wonderful from the moment we arrived until we were leaving.

Very comfortable and really spacious. Everything was just as good as the listing. Everything we needed was there and we didn’t need to go anywhere else except for grocery shopping. Would definitely recommend the nest box to anyone looking for some relaxing time.

Comfortable, quiet and had everything I needed. The walk across the fields to the pub was fun - bit flooded but ok with boots.

The property is well equipped and beautifully clean.

I spent a week there with my two dogs and, apart from walking them daily, was happy to stay in the premises. I had intended to go out for days, but was so comfortable in the Nest Box that I stayed in. The hosts were lovely and welcoming.

A genuine country retreat.

A lovely intimate cottage set in beautiful grounds which lets you interact with nature first hand. The property was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Our host was welcoming and a breakfast arrival pack was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend this for peace and quiet but also a starting point to visit many of Norfolks beautiful villages, coastal resorts and the city of Norwich itself.

Lovely cosy barn conversion in the heart of the countryside, such a good place to enjoy the wild bird life and the animals at the farm.

The welcome goodie breakfast pack was very much appreciated and the owners were friendly and obliging. We very much enjoyed our time there.

A most peaceful retreat away from the noise of everyday urban life. Chris and Claire were the most fantastic hosts. So friendly and great to get along with. Everything was spotless. Had a lovely welcome pack too. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely retreat to anyone else. Will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely stay at the Nest Box.

The owners were very helpful the breakfast bacon, sausage and eggs were delicious. The bed was very comfy The only issue we had was the TV was high up on the wall which did give us neck ache after a few days. The pony’s and chicken were a joy to watch and we especially liked all the birds that came to the feeder outside the window. Would recommend.

We were delighted with the Nest Box at Red House farm and we were made most welcome.

Very generous breakfast waiting for us - fresh eggs sausages and bacon, milk and loaf of bread + dog treats! Freedom to roam around the farm among ponies and livestock/wildlife was a real joy. We were extremely comfortable and the "henhouse" conversion is so impressive. A real retreat and very relaxing. No shops nearby but Diss is a wonderful town only a few short miles away. Our collie wants to return!

Wonderful cottage and location, couldn't fault anything.

Very relaxing and quiet location with some beautiful scenery and excellent dog walks. Lovely owners who know the area well and gave some great suggestions for places to visit. They even invited us to their summer BBQ for the village and we met some lovely people.

5 acres. A lovely hideaway with friendly and attentive hosts.

Enjoyed our stay very comfortable my husband loved the bed, had a job trying to get the hot water out of the shower but persevered in the end, also we needed a chair in the bedroom for us older people when getting dressed.

What a fabulous location, accomodation and host. The weather was also a blessing. Dusty dog had the best time meeting new friends, ponies, chickens, deer, pheasants and rabbits. Chris and Claire were perfect host. The accomodation had everything we needed with a very comfortable bed. Fantastic stay.

One of the most restful and peaceful breaks we have experienced.

The owners were kn site to greet us and offered a lot of information. The entire grounds were available for us to wander and sed yhe animals whilst the cottage was situated within easy reach of shops, pubs and interesting areas. Park and ride is suggested for a visit to Norwich as much cheaper than parking.

Peaceful and off the beaten track. We appreciated the welcome gifts to cook a good breakfast over the weekend. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. No light polloution, a real treat. The ground are lovely and the wildlife abundant. Lots of places to sit and stare. Everything that we needed!

Amazing hospitality and accomodation in beautiful countryside surrounded on all sides by nature.

Bird song, no light pollution, small deer, boxing hares! Absolute bliss. Venturing out to numerous quaint villages, towns and woodland walks. Thankyou Claire and Chris, for a great stay in your beautiful grounds.

We had the most perfect stay to see in the new year at The Nest Box.

Nothing was too much for our hosts Chris and Claire, who were super friendly and were really helpful with lots of information and recommendations. The breakfast items were an added bonus and very welcome, as were the dog treats! Very dog friendly (as is the local pub in Gissing!) and it was great to see so much wildlife too. This holiday let was absolutely perfect, and the bed is so comfortable! You have everything you could need. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The Nest Box was a cute little place, just perfect for a long weekend away for us and our dog.

Hosts were really lovely, helpful and friendly. They provided us with a few goodies for the weekend including eggs, bacon, bread and milk, even dog biscuits and poop bags! Very considerate. Would highly recommend this place.

Spotlessly clean and bigger than it looked in the photo's, it had everything we needed and more. Claire and Chris were great hosts and helpful, the welcome breakfast pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The bed was very comfy too. We would definitely recommend and would stay again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Red House Farm staying in the Nest Box.

We loved the surroundings and peaceful atmosphere, the accommodation was lovely we could have easily stayed on. We both fell in love a little bit with the farm and can recommend The Nest Box as a great escape with many places to visit in the surrounding areas. A lovely cottage with everything you need. Very clean, nice comfortable king size bed. . Kitchenette. Also a complimentary breakfast, which is a lovely thought. Chris and Claire make you feel at home, and are there if you need anything..Two gorgeous Shetland ponies on the farm. A very quiet and peaceful stay. One of the best cottages I have stayed in.

Our host was welcoming & the cottage ticked all of our boxes. Excellent base to explore Norfolk/Suffolk. But above all else, the peace and quiet was priceless. Beautiful haven for wildlife (& humans too)!

A great find prestine clean, everything you need, lovely and warm, Comfortable Fabulous grounds, quiet perfect in the midst of nature the owners are friendly helpfull attentive, it was perfect for us and will return .

The owners are very welcoming and helpful too, wouldn't hesitate to go back again or recommend to a friend.

We have stayed in some wonderful cottages but the warmth of our welcome has been the best.

The cottage is ideally situated for long country walks and has all you need for a wonderful stay. As a general rule we don't return to the same places or area but we both would love to go back again. See you again next year.

We stayed here during October, the nest is like a cosy blanket and delight to return to after a cold day out.

The grounds are beautiful along with the girls who provide eggs, and Ronnie the pony who is just so cute. The house is so clean and the welcome pack of a lovely breakfast was very welcome. Our dog loved the treats. Chris and Clare are so friendly and welcoming, and can’t do enough for you. My advise would be that if you intend to cook for yourself stop in Diss before checking in and do some shopping there is a Tesco and Morrisons there. the pub the Thatchers is dog friendly and good lunch and evening food. Annie’s cake shop in Diss is dog friendly to. We has a lovely short break in Gissing at Red house Farm.

Well maintained modern barn conversion.

Everything one needs in a great location for exploring S. Norfolk and Suffolk. Excellent pubs for eating nearby in Burton and Fornham. Owners friendly and helpful. Plenty of land to walk your dog. Some may find water pressure lower than they're used to.

Chris and Clair gave us such a warm welcome we couldn't fail to enjoy our stay.

Situated perfectly as a base and they bent over backwards to make our stay as wonderful as possible. They have wonderful grounds, with nature in mind. Very comfortable environment, peaceful and easy access for sightseeing.

Property was all of the above set in a beautiful location, Clare and Chris are perfect hosts in every way, always taking the time to stop whatever they were doing and chat and offer advise on pubs, eating out, places of interest etc.

We do this once a year to see friends and relatives that live in the area and this is by far the best we have been too which we will certainly re book next year

The hosts are so friendly and caring, not nosy and intrusive, but there if you need anything.

The accommodation has everything you could need, the kitchen is well stocked with tools and supplies to get you started cooking, and there's a dishwasher so you can have a break from the washing-up. The large bedroom is cosy and the bed is very comfortable, I had no problem sleeping, and it is so quiet despite the close proximity of the railway and resident cockerel! There's a wardrobe and drawers to put away your clothes, so no need to live out of the suitcase and the bathroom is just off the bedroom, which is handy at nighttime. The courtyard outside is a lovely place to sit in the nice weather, our host gave us some sun loungers to use, and it's a lovely lookout from the lounge window. We enjoyed watching the birds come to the feeders and a hedgehog visited in the evenings, there's so much wildlife to appreciate right on the doorstep. The accommodation is situated on the edge of the village and we walked to the pub (The Gissing Crown) a couple of times, it's a nice fifteen minutes walk along a very quiet road. The hosts have provided information about local walks and recommended fish and chips etc. You have to drive to buy food supplies, Diss has supermarkets, and a few of the villages nearby have small shops. We used a local farm shop (Goodies) once which was expensive but stocked some treats as well as fruit and veg (their strawberries were delicious). They also have a nice cafe. The accommodation is well positioned to explore Norfolk and Suffolk, we had days out on the broads (hired a day boat from Wroxham), Norwich, Southwold and Diss, as well as more relaxed days. We can highly recommend The Nest Box, we had a great time and would be very happy to return for a future holiday, or recommend it to our family and friends.

A well presented property with all you need for a relaxing comfortable stay.

It is ideal for a couple with dogs.The ability to meet the animals at the property is great and this is offered by the most welcoming of hosts. The area has many interesting villages/towns with historic buildings and individual shops. Highly recommended if this what you are looking for.

Absolutely loved our stay here.

The owners are lovely and welcoming. The Nest box is cute, charming and a very reasonable rate. Stunning countryside position, being near the Train line you’d think it would be noisy but we hardly noticed it. Beautiful for stargazing with minimal light pollution.

We had long weekend here at the end of August 2022 & it was wonderful.

The cottage was very clean & equipped with everything you could possibly need. Chris & Claire are fabulous hosts, very helpful & welcoming without being too intrusive on your stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, we slept really well which is unusual for us in a new place. I would highly recommend a stay here, beautiful cottage in a stunning location with the perfect hosts!

Chris and Claire were amazing hosts and really made us feel welcome and at home, with an amazing breakfast package and also treats for our dog, Mylo. The freshly laid eggs were fantastic and lovely location. Mylo loved walking round the grounds exploring and meeting the pony's and geese.

Claire and Chris are fabulous host's and made us feel very welcome, especially with 2 dog's, the Nest Box was ideal, we felt at home and enjoyed our stay.

The owners of The Nest Box were so welcoming and very helpful.

They spent quality time giving us tips on how best to enjoy our stay given our known interests. We particularly enjoyed the the lovely animal residents, the two delightful Shetland Ponies, the assertive geese and pet cats. Our working cocker Maesy was welcomed and made to feel at home. Given the beautiful location in South Norfolk (rural England at its best) it is our intention to return. All things being equal.

The personal touches from the owners was great, the accommodation was lovely, nice to see the animals wandering around.

we have just spent lovely relaxing week at this delightful cottage in the peace and quite of the Norfolk countryside.

The cottage is very cosy spotlessly clean with every thing we needed,the bed was realy comfy we slept realy well so quite the breakfast pack was a lovely thought. Our hosts Chris and Claire are the most lovely couple they made us very welcome and very helpful the five and a half acres of grounds are ideal for a stroll round with the dog and see all the wild life and the geese and hens are very friendly reggie and ronnie the shetland ponies are a handsome pair and very amusing if you happen to catch them playing with their treatballs.There are some nice walks of varying lengths. a nice stroll to the friendly village pub. Farther afield are towns of bungay and becles. We would certainly recommend this delightful cottage and hope to return again. John pat and chip July 2020

The Nest Box cottage was very well equipped with the most comfy bed we have experienced, so quiet at night in the country.

Full kitchen appliances and a great shower. The cottage and grounds were ideal for us to relax in and very dog friendly. The owners Chris and Claire were very pleasant and could not do enough for us and provided a welcome pack for breakfast. Diss is a short drive away and well worth a visit. We used the cottage as a base for the nearby Broads and the Norfolk coast resorts of Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft are an easy drive away.

A relaxing holiday, Chris and Claire went that extra mile to make our holiday complete, local information and knowledge of the wildlife around the farm .

This accommodation, although small, is excellent.

The location is very rural and quiet, despite there being a railway line close by. It’s ideal for dogs as there are plenty of grounds and quiet lanes to walk them. The cottage itself is very cosy, well equipped and nice and warm. Chris and Claire are wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was brilliant, much appreciated and the dogs enjoyed their treats as well.

This is a great cottage, roomy and very comfortable.

The bed was so comfortable we have ordered one for our home. The owners are very welcoming. They had thought of everything, even bacon, sausages and eggs for a great breakfast. A nice personal touch was the great hand drawn map of the grounds and surrounding area showing us where we could exercise our German shepherd. Anyone interested in wildlife would be in for a treat as there are a great variety of birds and animals that can be seen within the grounds. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Nest Box to anyone.

Set on a beautiful smallholding, with a mix of woodland, paddocks and formal gardens, in a quite rural setting, superb.

Great location in open countryside with good access to both Norfolk and Suffolk.

The property includes five and a half acres of "garden" to wander around in with abundant wild life including tame ducks (Running ducks and Mallard -with ducklings) Chickens, Geese, wild Pheasants and two beautiful Shetland ponies (in their own compound) all to be enjoyed. The owners Chris and Claire were really great hosts, with a great welcome package which also included the ingredients for a full breakfast, this did in fact cover us for two days. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Pristine newly converted Victorian henhouse, more spacious than any holiday let for 2 we have previously stayed in with very large and very comfortable bed.

Practically kitted out if you have a dog. In the owner’s 5 acre garden, far enough away from the main house to be private and not overlooked. We were made to feel very welcome by the delightful owners. A walk across lovely countryside to the dog friendly pub in this pretty village.
