Lovely cottage, very friendly owners, great hot tub.

Dog friendly. super comfy beds ,well equipped kitchen. Lots of leaflets of places to visit. Would highly recommend this cottage and others on site. Will definitely be back

The Barn is the best property we have stayed in by far - we didn't want to leave!

Every comfort was considered by the owner, who was very welcoming. The Barn was spacious, very clean and furnished with style. We had lovely areas for our dogs, who were made very welcome (where some owners just tolerate dogs) We will definitely be going back!

The Barn was spacious & peaceful, very relaxing.

The beds were very comfy with good quality linen. The paddock area for the dogs to run free was great! It’s an ideal place to get away from it all, but a car is definitely needed as the coast etc are at least an hour away as are most places of interest. Hosts were very helpful & obliging & made us feel very welcome during our stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Barn.

The host was really welcoming and attentive. The Barn was stunning, well maintained and accurately described on the website. It’s really well kitted out, with very comfortable beds and everything you need in the kitchen. The hot tub was great and the grounds were lovely, great place to stay with dogs.

PROS: The barn is a beautiful old house, with tons of rustic charm and character and the central atrium entrance is particularly stunning.

It is quite large so plenty of space and we liked that the bedrooms were at opposite ends of the building ensuring privacy from the in laws who visited and stayed with us for 4 of our 7 night stay. The beds were super king and the bedding was really soft and comfortable. The private secured little garden is great for the dogs and there were a further 2 really lovely areas where the dogs could play. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofa and TV area very comfortable. The owner was helpful when we needed a fan in one of the rooms and she was also helpful in recommending some pubs and places to visit. There is a utility area with a ton of tourist information flyers and maps, which I found useful when planning days out. CONS: We found dog hair (not ours) all over the sofas and cobwebs in the ceilings on the wooden beams. Whilst we appreciate this is a old barn, this could have been easily rectified with a deeper clean between guests. The front door double height glass entrance had dozens of dead flies stuck to the glass :-(. The front entrance was also tired with weeds and piles of leaves which again could have been swept up and tidied between guests. My husband also didn't appreciate being 'told off' by the owner for using the wrong hoover to clean up sand from the back seat of our car :-(. The owner did in fact tell me that they weren't able to afford the rates of local cleaners so they have taken to cleaning the property themselves. The property is located in a quiet residential road but there is nothing else nearby other than residential properties. The nearest pub was several miles away, and there were no shops within walking distance. This means we needed to drive everywhere with quite considerable distances and times involved, i.e. a day trip to the north Norfolk coast was a 3 hour round trip! This was a big issue for us as we spent so much of our time driving but we do appreciate this was mostly our fault as we didn't sufficiently note the distances involved and we didn't quite appreciate how large Norfolk was (so not a criticism of The Barn or Sykes).

Have stayed at many holiday cottages over the years but this one is the best ever.

The Barn is a superb conversion and the photo`s/description do not do this holiday cottage justice, great character, a good size and comfort with a lovely shared paddock for the dogs along with cleaning facilities.

Only negative point would be occasional traffic noise through the night.

Felt at home straight away. Perfect for a relaxing stay in the countryside and a good location for getting out to explore the rest of Norfolk. Nice small touches like games and chess board in the lounge, log fire, essentials for the kitchen, enclosed area for dog as well as more open garden areas and a big jacuzzi with candles etc. We had a great time.

Fantastic break away with the family, The Barn was perfect for our stay.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday at The Barn and managed to see all the delights of North Norfolk including Sandringham ( a must visit) which was delightful.

As were Holt (definitely worth a visit as well as Blakeney, Ely Cathedral and on the recommendation of Karen and Stewart The Cutter for lunch followed by a boat trip on the river. Holcombe Hall and the beach are high on the list with a trip to Cambridge and a punt on the river not to be missed. Our holiday was made all that more special by the the property itself which in our view was five star reaching this level with the way in which our hosts Karen and Stewart made us so welcome with their tips, recommendations and conversations. Thanks to them both and best wishes for the future.

The Barn was an awesome place for a relaxing stay.

Karen and Stuart are the perfect hosts and the Barn and garden are idyllic. It’s a perfect holiday with a dog (even our very young slightly troublesome one). He is sad now we are home and he doesn’t get to run round the paddock numerous times a day. We will all definitely be back soon

Beautiful barn, very comfortable.

The barn was very spacious and easily accomodated 4 adults and 5 dogs. Great to have private, enclosed garden and then 3 other area for the dog. Hosts were lovely and informative

The house has everything you need for a great stay and the dog facilities are fantastic. We could have stayed longer than a week! Karen is warm and welcoming and we will definitely be going back!

The owners Karen & Duncan were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble .we will be booking again very soon .

Had a fantastic time at the barn would definitely recommend a few cleaning issues 1 being the kettle full of limescale and the frying pan being burnt on food left on , but okay apart from that .

This property had everything you could wish for especially for dog friendliness.

Dog wash, towels, safe areas, water bowl, enclosed garden for late night wees without getting all togged up. Well equipped kitchen. To be honest faultless even without the dogs. Plenty of space as well compared with other cottages we have stayed in. Hot tub was lovely as well. Owners very helpful and on hand. Bonus ability to rent all 3 properties for groups.

Lovely setting and beautiful barn conversion with all mod-cons but very dog friendly.

We and the dog loved the paddock which was very secure and tranquil. Karen was the perfect host and was at hand to lend a flask or advise on walks etc. We hope to return.

Nothing was too much trouble and as they live on site if there are any requirements they are dealt with straight away. The gardens are beautiful especially the paddock. We’re definitely going to return to this cottage.

The size, layout and facilities of the barn were Brilliant and ideal for our needs and the dogs absolutely loved the agility course, literally a minutes walk away + the owner has even put in a dog washing facility just to the side of the barn

Really enjoyed our week and our dogs loved the garden.

It was handy having a dog bath outside and enjoyed visiting the ducks in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

We have just returned home from a week's stay at The Barn.

We have nothing negative to say about this property. The Barn is extremely comfortable and welcoming. The owners were lovely and helpful. The hot tub was lovely which we really enjoyed. Great grounds for our pooches.All in all a great stay here, we will definitely return very soon.

The accommodation and surrounding land is definitely very dog friendly with lots of space for our four legged fur babies! Can recommend Castle Acre for a place of historic interest and with dog walks in the immediate area plus a dog friendly pub in the village!

Very well geared up for dogs. Genuinely welcomed. Accommodation was spacious and very well equipped. Warm and comfortable. Lovely paddock for the dogs to play in. The owner Karen is very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Very dog friendly which is one reason why I chose it. Not only that but a beautiful location and very nice property full of character. We had a very relaxing time and made to feel extremely welcome by the owners right from the start.

The barn is absolutely beautiful in every way. Comfy bed (best sleep in a long time), double shower, roll top baths, spacious lounge/diner/kitchen, hot tub, private garden as well as use of the paddock for the dogs and of course, fresh duck eggs. We felt so at home and thoroughly enjoyed some R&R. We are looking forward to returning!

The Barn was a lovely place to use as a base for getting around the area.

Coming back to comfortable accomodation and faciliates made our holiday complete.Karen and Stuart were great in providing us with information on what was available in the local areas, including the pub (dog friendly and a short walk). We had a dog with us and the bonus was the offer,from Karen to providing a dog sitting service, if we were to go out to places that did not allow dogs. Milly, our dog, made friends with Karen's pooches so even the dog had a great time. In all I would recommend this accomodation and what it has to offer as we had a very relaxing and chillout short holiday. Thanks you guys

A lovely quiet location and an ideal place to bring the dogs.

We had everything we needed and our wives really enjoyed the hot tub. The supermarket at Watton was just a few minutes drive away and was easy to get to. We were left alone to enjoy our holiday but Karen the owner lived on site and was always on hand if we had any problems or needed advice on the local area. We were met by Karen on arrival and shown around the premises and the outside dog walking areas. Karen went through all the rules and explained everything very clearly. Key collection and drop off was easy with Karen living on site. All in all a very pleasant short break and a venue I'm sure we will return to in the future.

This was a comfortable, warm and well equipped barn conversion.

The thing that sets this holiday home apart from others, is the dog friendly welcome by the owners. There is a delightful garden and paddock directly accessible from the property, so you have no worries about taking your dog out. Although it is a dog friendly home, the standard of the accommodation is still very high, and the owners are very friendly and helpful.

The Barn was extremely well equipped.

The Owner was charming and did everything to make sure we had a fantastic visit. I would most certainly recommend this property especially if you have dogs as it is very dog friendly, with an exercise paddock with jumps and equipment for your dog. Lovely property - shame about the November weather!

This is my second visit to the area after staying at the dairy.

The facilities for dogs is amazing and one of the main reasons I booked again but in the bigger property at Saham Hills. The only negative was the internet which comes and goes and is very limited.

Plenty of space, inside and out, private courtyard useful with a dog and all facilities you would need for the summer.

Very comfortable beds.We would go again.

Excelled in comfort and style with old world charm. Fab hot tub & our dog thoroughly enjoyed running thru the paddock. The most comfortable bed we have slept in aside from our own!! Can't fault it and would definitely return.
