“We stayed at 4 Victoria Court following a week in the Peak District, very different properties, and to be honest we were a bit disappointed when we first arrived.”
First think to note - Google maps sends you to the wrong location, not too far away, but a small annoyance. We appreciate prices are regional but for +£300 we went from 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a toilet to 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. But I must say the apartment grew on us. The building has a main entrance on the ground flour, entrance to flat 4 on the first floor which has the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms and the 'lounge' on the second floor. The first floor feels a little 'tired', the wood work is somewhat yellowed and chipped in places, the kitchen is small but functional (although the pans rock alarmingly on the hob): there is a 3rd bedroom/study room (which was locked), access to which would have been very useful to store shoes/bags etc. The second floor is a genuinely lovely open space (just one big room) with exposed beams and views of the sea. The views of the sunset were spoiled somewhat by the grubby windows, but mid holiday a window cleaner did turn up. The apartment has 3 tvs: v small (bedroom), medium (kitchen) and largeish (lounge) (the small one in the bedroom needed retuning). The apartment is very well located for a short (steep) walk to the beach, although the roads in Sheringham are very narrow, and at times, very busy. The apartment is listed as dog friendly but not being ground level based I'm pleased we didn't bring our dog along. Despite all that, after a day or so, we relaxed and it was really nice just sitting there, just soaking up the ambience, or walking along the promenade, watching the Sheringham carnival and listening to a band sing sea shanties. So, would we stay here again? Probably no, but says more about Sheringham than the apartment
