“This is a spacious and comfortable home in a great location and we had a good experience apart from two things.”

One was that towels are not provided. We found out about this at the last minute, and only by reading reviews written by others. The owner had left a sign at the house explaining that towels were not part of the deal and that Sykes should have informed us of this, and pointing out that we could buy them at Tesco. One was that towels are not provided. We found out about this at the last minute, and only by reading reviews written by others. The owner had left a sign at the house explaining that towels were not part of the deal and that Sykes should have informed us of this, and pointing out that we could buy them at Tesco. We agree that Sykes should make it clear in the description of the property rather than stating that towels are usually provided in most properties and leaving it up to us to do the research. it felt rather penny-pinching to us although it gave us lots of opportunities to poke fun at people who won't wash a few towels when the best launderette in north Norfolk is literally down the road. Our second disappointment was that the induction hob didn't work properly, so when you had something cooking on one ring and then put another pan on a different ring, the temperature of the first ring reduced. We rang the owner to ask if we needed to do something to make it work properly but he just said he would look at it when he next came to the property. Although these two issues affected our experience slightly, overall we enjoyed our stay. This place is not cheap and so we had hoped for something a bit more special.

Thanks for your comments that Highland House is a spacious and comfortable home in a great location. Regarding the induction hob, to clarify we spoke on the phone on the Saturday evening to resolve the issue and we explained how induction hob’s work, the hob instructions are also in the property folder which gives clear information. We also offered if you weren’t happy to change our plans on the Sunday to make the 2-hour drive to check and if necessary, replace the 2 years old hob if it was defective. However on our last conversation you were happy the hob was working fine and our visit was not required. Regarding towels this is clear in the Sykes information and unfortunate you missed it.
