Rose Cottage

We spent a week at Rose Cottage, and we can honestly say that it was a fantastic week in spite of the weather.

The cottage exceeded all our expectations. It had everything we could possibly need and more. It was clean, well stocked and in an excellent location. Sally came to meet us, to check everything was ok. Any problems were dealt with very quickly and efficiently. The place is truly dog friendly, which is very rare. A lot of places say they are dog friendly and don't actually mean it, but this place definitely is. All in all we had a great time, and are making plans to return.

Wonderful cottage in the perfect location for us.

Hostess was lovely and checked on us the day after arrival. She really has gone above and beyond and even prepped the kitchen with a few essentials and non-essentials to help us get started with our stay. We were in need of nothing. There was a fan for when it turned warm and extra blankets for when we first arrived. Really, it could not have been more perfect. There is a very nice local pub, the Bluebell with delicious food and friendly staff. The village is quiet and peaceful with wonderful walking paths close at hand. It really is centrally located for the places we wanted to visit. I find Sykes to be more reasonable in pricing than some of the other websites. Book this cottage!

Great property for our needs, especially the downstairs bedroom.

Garden was safe and enclosed, ideal for our dogs. Location proved central to exploring in all directions and we especially enjoyed Thetford Forest. Thankyou for enabling us to have a super holiday.

Rose cottage is a lovely cottage in a quiet location.

Tucked away yet close to amenities. The cottage is a credit to the owner. Super attention to detail. Extremely well appointed with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Super comfy bed and lovely soft towels. The shower was powerfull with plenty of hot water. We couldn’t fault this cottage and would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely cottage, was well presented and clean.

We appreciated the welcome pack with eggs, milk, biscuits and doggy treats nice touch. Great garden for the dogs which is why I chose the property over others plus they took 3 dogs where many properties only accept 2. Highly recommend.

The cottage is wonderfully comfortable, fully equipped which enabled to eat at "home" for 2 nights with no stress.

Tv was also easy to operate. The only thing I would say is perhaps consider putting a double bed in the lower floor bedroom? Bathroom was clean and the shower flow was fantastic. Garden was a great space though we didn't use it apart from breakfast and an evening tipple. To be able to get the sun all day is another positive. Your cottage is the perfect location.

The owner Sally went out of her way to ensure the cottage was spotlessly clean and welcoming before we arrived, and the welcome pack (for humans and dogs) was generous. The large, secure, sunny garden is reassuring for owners of dogs of all sizes, and the area is great for walking, with sections of Thetford forest nearby. Would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful cottage ,had everything we needed and more the road was very quiet which we liked , we were relaxed and refreshed dogs enjoy themselves, Sally was an excellent host and the extras for us and our dogs made it special.

A very well equipped and beautifully clean cottage which, in the main, was a very comfortable place to stay in.

There is lots of kitchen and bedroom space as well as a sizeable enclosed garden great for our dog. The only requests we would make would be for a king size bed and a footstool in the lounge for those cozy evenings watching tv. Thank you, Sally

The best cottage we've ever stayed in.

The cottage was spotless, well equipped and very comfortable. The garden was well-maintained and safe for the dogs.We had a very generous welcome pack and fresh eggs provided by the owner although I was disappointed not to hear a cockerel. Being an early riser myself, I love to hear them welcoming the day. She answered our queries promptly and was very helpful with local knowledge.We had a wonderful week despite the grey dismal weather and most of the attractions being closed due either to the time of year, maintenance or preparing for Christmas extravaganzas.

Owner of this cottage has obviously gone out of their way to provide anything a visitor may need.

Best equipped kitchen I've experienced in a holiday cottage - if we needed something it was there. Books,DVDs,games for those who forget to bring. Loo rolls, tissues, soap dispensers, enough towels (goodness there are never usually enough of those) and they were nice and soft. And of course there were the thoughtful dog treats, welcome basket, fresh milk and eggs. Cottage was well maintained, comfortable and scrupulously clean. We are grateful that such a very nice cottage would welcome our 4 dogs and trust we left the property looking as good as when we arrived. Area is a lovely place to visit - this review is on the cottage only. We had a great break.

A wonderful stay at Rose Cottage for the two of us and two dogs.

The cottage was spotlessly presented and very comfortable and every possible need was catered for and was also warm and cosy. Super location for visiting family and friends in Cambridgeshire, plus a trip to Ely as well as up to Cromer, Old Hunstanton and the North Norfolk coast. The Welcome Pack of goodies, including the dogs was lovely and also the greetings from Sally We couldn't recommend Rose Cottage more highly.

We absolutely loved the cottage.

It was like a home from home. The village is lovely, a perfect base to visit so many beautiful places in Norfolk- Sandringham, the seaside and national trust properties too. Sally, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a wonderful time, even though the weather wasn’t that great, it didn’t matter. I highly recommend this lovely cottage and if I could give 15 stars, then I would. Thank you for everything.

Sally was a very welcoming host and there was good communication leading up to our stay.

We arrived to lovely welcome hamper for us and the dog, and included delicious fresh eggs. The cottage was very clean, cosy , welcoming and equipped above and beyond. The garden was very secure for our dog and had plenty of seating to enjoy the fantastic weather we had. Well located to get to a good number of lovely places to visit. And the friendly local pub was a bonus! Thank you for having us and we hope to visit again.

This is the second time myself, and my parents have stayed at Rose Cottage.

Both times have been amazing. Sally, the owner, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will be booking Rose Cottage again!

Lovely property in a stunning location.

Sally provided lots of little extras including a snack box, treats for the dogs and fresh eggs from her hens which was welcome surprise! The property really was a home from home and had everything we needed for 4 adults, a 6 year old and 3 dogs. We already planning our next trip and can’t wait to return.

The cottage is set in a lovely little village, there is a corner shop, a Chinese take-away, a kebab and pizza cafe and the nearest pub is 10 mins walk.

The cottage itself had all you needed. Bedding, towels and cleaning equipment. The interior was spotless. There are lots of books and games to entertain yourself, even a T.V. and videos. It has a long back garden with deck chairs at the suntrap end of the garden, at the lower end of the garden is a wooden bench table where you can take a rest from the sun and drink a cold beer. It was so relaxing and the setting was great. Sally the keeper of the cottage welcomed us with a gift of fresh eggs and a basket of goodies, a perfect start to a perfect holiday. Thank you. Good value, plenty of rooms.

Garden fine for the dogs. House was prepared well, with coffe, tea, eggs etc. Quiet road.

Rose Cottage is immaculately presented with all the facilities you could want.

The enclosed garden was perfect for our lively spaniel with a choice of garden furniture for ourselves. The cottage is located with easy access to the fens and coast along with a number of local countryside and riverside walks. The owner Sally left a fabulous welcome pack, milk and fresh eggs. Who could ask for more?

A very spacious cottage and large secure garden, in a pretty village.

Very dog friendly property. Well equipped kitchen but could perhaps do with a larger saucepan, if cooking for six people. Very nice welcome pack. All the necessities catered for, regarding hand soap, washing up liquid, toilet rolls, coffee, tea, milk, etc. on arrival, very thoughtful. We would highly recommend, if you want a dog friendly holiday. Tracy

We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage, it was clean, well equipped and the garden was perfect for the dogs!

The basket of goodies was much appreciated too! The downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked really well for our elderly relatives.

Wonderful cottage.

Very cosy and welcoming. All you need. Excellent layout with dogs and fantastic fenced garden for them. The owners are lovely people and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return at some stage. Thank you.

The cottage was bigger than I expected, spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The cottage was located in a quiet village with plenty of walks nearby.

Extremely well equipped, with a secure garden that our dogs could explore and even our escapologist Jack Russell/Terrier cross Toby couldn’t break out from! We arrived at the cottage to find a fantastic welcome pack of crisps, milk, biscuits, cakes, dog biscuits and delicious eggs from the owner Sally’s hens. Really can’t rate Rose Cottage highly enough, we’re definitely planning to return at some point.

Just returned after spending a wonderful week staying at Rose Cottage.

Beautiful country cottage which is very spacious And comfortable. Property is tastefully decorated and furnished to reflect country cottage style . Property was very clean throughout. Very well facilitated kitchen with everything you need to cook any meal. Fantastic large garden which was very safely enclosed perfect for my two dogs to explore safely. Sally the owner of the property introduced herself checking that there were no problems on arrival. Very friendly letting us know where she lived And how we could reach her incase of any problems. Sally left us a very substantial welcome pack And also eggs from her own hens , delicious!!! Stoke ferry is a charming small village with very friendly residents. It is well placed for exploring Norfolk coast and country. I would thoroughly recommend a stay to anyone Who appreciates a tranquil relaxing environment with lovely clean comfortable accommodation. Will be returning soon .

Lovley cottage, already left our review with Sally& John the owners, all what said on Sykes Web site is true would go again, just one small nigell please get a better tin opener ,other wise everthing donkie dory, thankyou.

Disappointing.

Living room is quaint but the huge stains on the armchairs and sofa is off putting. Kitchen was OK, managed to find just two cereal bowls for three of us. No tumblers for drinks, just an array of random pub pint glasses. No adequate freezer space which is difficult when staying for a week, needs a full size fridge freezer. Bedrooms were adequate, upstairs bedrooms the mattresses were incredibly hard and uncomfortable, we ended up all sleeping in separate rooms as the double bed was so small my husband and I were virtually sleeping nose to nose. There is plenty of room for a king size bed in the main room, no idea why there isn't one. The stairs to the upper bedrooms was like a ladder, I very much doubt anyone with mobility issues could manage them. The on road parking it should be noted is on a narrow road and only enough parking for one car really. Garden was good for the dogs as there is a covered part near the back door. Overall just a little shoddy, mismatched furniture and decorations which made it look tatty and cheaply put together, peeling paint on the wall in the main bedroom, dated and stained furniture. OK for a couple of nights but not a week.

Lovely cottage and welcome pack and treats for dog's but do think the downstairs bedroom would be better as a double for when just adults use the cottage as you already have a twin upstairs but over all nice cottage and would go back as great enclosed garden for you and your dogs and walks nearby including a lovely forest

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage.

Have stayed in a few cottages and this was by far the best. The owners are lovely people and we even got to meet their pygmy goats, they are so cute! Very comfortable and clean which to us is a priority and also totally safe enclosed rear garden, keeping furry friends safe. Ideally situated to visit the beautiful county of Norfolk. We would highly recommend a stay in the delightful Rose Cottage.

This is a comfortable modern cottage.

We have 3 dogs and the fully enclosed garden is perfect. The cottage is in a quiet lane, the pub is a 5 minute walk away. Happy days , amid rural Norfolk . I highly recommend this cottage.

Sally is a wonderful host, she sent us a message before arrival with check in details and greeted us personally. We arrived to a very generous welcome pack which was so welcoming. The cottage was so cosy, it really felt like home. Everything was provided you could possibly need. It was very dig friendly with dog bowls and dog treats provided in the welcome pack. The location was ideal a lovely village, so peaceful and quiet and great to explore from. Highly recommended.

The owner Sally has thought of everything, and was a welcoming and friendly presence when we first arrived. The cottage is situated on a no-through road and is very quiet and peaceful; our dogs loved the garden, and were made to feel as welcome as the human holiday-makers.

Spent a relaxing week at Rose cottage.

Well equipped everything we needed. We loved the log burner especially following a day out sight seeing. Beds comfortable. Having bedroom downstairs next to the bathroom was handy as my partner has walking disability. Thank you Sally for the basket of goodies.

We thought Rose Cottage was lovely.

It was incredibly warm and cosy. It was nice to be somewhere so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was well stocked and had everything we needed for cooking. It was great having a washing machine, drier, dishwasher. The welcome basket of eggs, chocolates, biscuits and hot cross buns was so thoughtful. They also provided milk and tea/coffee which is always the first thing guests want after a long journey. It was also nice to be welcomed by the owner when we arrived. She let us know where she was if we needed anything, but wasn't intrusive after this. The only minor issue we had was a lack of cupboard space for food and the small fridge but after some rearranging, we made enough space. The single beds in the downstairs room were too soft for the guests staying in there but you can't please everyone!

We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage from 30/12/22 to 2/1/23 the cottage had everything you needed, beds are comfortable and the cottage was clean and cozy with plenty of space and lots of character The host was vey kind and helpful We loved this place :) very happy family of six

Beautiful cottage, everything you need provided.

Lovely welcome pack.Owner very helpful on local walks, shops etc unfortunately due to building work next door lighting fires most of the day creating lots of horrid smoke and blasting music all day we didn't make the most of the fantastic garden. Would stay again so don't let that put you off as it can't be helped however wasn't as relaxing as I'd have liked due to this.

Lovely cottage, well equipped.

Warm. Clean and tidy. It said "no off-road parking" but we parked outside the cottage on the very quiet road. Used the log burner every evening.

Wonderful week of relaxation and Christmas shopping, the cottage was perfect for our needs and Sally was very welcoming.

Went to rose cottage for a short break with my two teenage sons, and my elderly parents.

My dad has mobility issues so having the bedroom and bathroom downstairs was ideal for him. We arrived on Sunday 14th August and stayed for 3 nights as part of my parents special birthday celebrations. I wish we had booked for longer! The cottage was easy to find and we had no problem parking. The massive enclosed back garden was amazing for our 3x very small dogs. The cottage was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Everything you needed was there to use. The little food hamper was a lovely touch on our arrival, especially the milk. Arriving Sunday evening we really appreciated that. The only thing I would suggest was some fans, especially for the upstairs bedrooms. The heat wave made upstairs very very hot for sleeping. ( although I appreciate that’s not a normal occurrence) The cottage was well located for days out in Norfolk. I would most definitely recommend the cottage as a place to stay, wouldn’t hesitate in re booking to stay again. Thankyou for letting us stay x

Our family of 7 (including a baby) and two dogs had a great stay at Rose Cottage.

The cottage was clean and very well equipped with a good sized garden to wind down in after a day out. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and very appreciated after the journey. Plenty to do in the local area which kept us busy including great cycling and forest walks. We hope to return in the future.

What a lovely cottage, fantastic location, lovely setting and a wonderful space.

You enter a spotless living room, through to a spacious kitchen diner, to be greeted by a wonderful welcome package. The bedrooms are fantastic and roomy, and a spacious bath/shower room. And let's not forget the large dog friendly garden. We had a wonderful time and will be back again soon. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We had a lovely stay at Rose Cottage with our 3 little chihuahuas who loved the enclosed garden It was a very well equipped cottage and very homely We only got to use the downstairs area (our choice) and the beds were really comfortable and it gave us a chance to sample bungalow living which is the reason why we are so late with our review we have been very busy packing up to move to a bungalow!

Although we only stayed at Rose Cottage for a few day's we found a few lovely places to take the dog's and ourselves to As soon as we are settled in our new home we will definitely be researching the local area a bit more and booking Rose Cottage again We have already spoken to our friends about this lovely little cottage Thank you again for a lovely stay and a lovely welcome pack for us all

The Cottage was just perfect for us and our dogs.

There is nothing to improve on! Our host lives just down the road, she popped in to ensure we had everything we needed. She was very friendly and helpful.

The listing and photos didn’t do it justice , it was so much more than I had imagined it to be . Very dog friendly and definitely a cottage for all seasons . The garden was so secure, even for a husky escape artist. The owners were very helpful and made themselves available if we needed help with anything. A perfect holiday cottage.

A really fantastic cottage we had two dogs and the garden was a perfect place for them and us to sit out of an evening the cottage was great with everything you could want and the town of Stoke Ferry has a number of nice walks along the river right from the doorstep I would not hesitate to stay again and recommend highly

Rose Cottage is a brilliant property.

The property was clean, fresh and comfortable. We had a lovely welcome basket left for us and some treats for the dogs. There were also extra towels, bowls and toys for the dogs. The garden is quite large, not over looked and backs onto a field so it's a lovely place to spend some time relaxing. We would definitely recommend to friends and we would book again!

Rose cottage is an excellent cottage.

It is very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The garden is lovely and completely enclosed for dogs. The owner left a great welcome pack including treats for the dog. It is well situated for visiting Sandringham, Banham Zoo and the north coastal beaches. There is also a handy corner shop in the village as well as a fish and chip shop. Other good shopping is not too far away in King’s Lynn. I can highly recommend this cottage and would happily stay there again.
