    “This suited us down to the ground - really remote and yet with a really nice hostess Julie living next door for any problems - which there weren't.”

    I think I've photographed all the owls but can't be 100% sure, and haven't counted them yet. Alas we didn't see a real one. We hesitate to give maximum stars in case too many others find out about it - but it's worth it, and we hope to return for longer once we've got over the journey on Norfolk's appalling road network!

SOUTHREPPS

Overstrand 3.5 miles; Cromer 5 miles; Sheringham 10 miles.

The village of Southrepps lies just five miles south of Cromer near to the north Norfolk coast. The village boasts two shops and a popular pub. Overstrand village is just over three miles away and sits on the cliff top overlooking a large sandy beach. The popular seaside resort town of Cromer is just five miles from Southrepps and is world famous for Cromer crabs, a true delicacy. A couple of miles further up the coast is the genteel resort of Sheringham which acts as the terminus for the North Norfolk Steam Railway. A little further afield are the popular market towns of Holt and Aylsham, the cathedral city of Norwich and an abundance of wildlife and birdwatching opportunities.
