Flint Cottage

Lovely cosy cottage, nicely decorated for Christmas.

The owner was really friendly, popping round to make sure we were OK. The kitchen contained everything we needed to make Christmas dinner, with a little something in the welcome pack to keep the chef happy!

We were very happy with the accommodation.

It was just what we wanted and provided a wonderful place for us to stay for our three day break. It contained all that we needed from bed linen, towels, biscuits, milk, tea and coffee. We would certainly return for another visit. Loved it!

We had a great time ( this was our second visit to Flint Cottage) very comfortable, even in December.

Great location (Swaffham is lovely) for also travelling out and using the cottage as a base.

This is a lovely cosy cottage, it was immaculately clean, small but perfectly formed and rhe owners are close by to help with anything from advice about local sights to helping when you lock yourself out (ooops).

We saw peacocks on the lawn most mornings and the gentle church bells were enchanting. The location is close to the town centre which has so many shops, this high street is not dying, and its walking distance so no taxis back from a night out. The only thing to be aware of is it's close to a main road, which has traffic going past all night, the garden is fully enclosed, great for dogs, however it is shared between 3 cottages and the gate needs to be opened when other guests are entering or leaving, it goes straight to the main road, so checking before letting the dog out is necessary,. There are some lovely morning walks close by and the locals are also very friendly. I'd definitely recommended

Lovely cottage very clean everything you needed for a lovely holiday.

Great location lovely owner provided us with everything we needed

Comfortable cottage with good parking and close to town centre.

Excellent spot for exploring Norfolk. Friendly host.

Really quaint little cottage, excellent off road parking and super location for walking into town centre.

The welcome pack was exceptional and the provision of consumables was brilliant.

Lovely, cosy, welcoming cottage in a perfect location.

The cottage had everything needed for our short break away.

Would love to go back to this cottage again sometime

Beautiful one bedroom cottage as described.

Okay the stairs are steep to the bedroom, but hey, it’s an old cottage and that’s how they were. The cleanliness was first class, and the bathroom was big and spacious, also the bedroom was a good size as well. Wi-Fi was great with no issues. Only thing I would change, and this is being picky- I would prefer a washing machine than a dishwasher, especially if staying for two weeks. Do try the Saturday market in town 2 minutes walk away, the dog friendly Red Lion pub also 2 minute walk away serves beautiful food. Rosemary the owner (a very nice lady) stopped by to make sure everything was okay. All in all I would definitely recommend Flint Cottage for a stay in Norfolk.

Flint Cottage was very comfy, we liked the location which meant the market place and shops were in walking distance, the kitchen was well equipped and everywhere well maintained.

We were fine but the stairs are a bit steep and headroom a bit low in places but I am 6ft and didn't bump my head. We appreciated the info pack on local amenities but only staying for a weekend didn't make full use of the suggestions- return visit needed!

Lovely cozy , immaculate cottage with nice area to sit outside on a nice night.

Cottage is an old building beautifully converted which adds to it's charm but steep stairs could be a problem for someone with mobility issues. As mentioned in previous review advertised as 10am check out but later request was 9.30 am which we found a little early. Great cottage though and perfect for visiting the area.

A lovely comfortable cottage situated in a good location within a few minutes walk of the quaint market town of Swaffham.

A good base for exploring North Norfolk. Don't miss the market on Saturday mornings. The cottage had everything we needed and although along the roadside, it was a very quiet road, and the outlook from the front door was very pleasant. Even had a visit most evenings from the neighbouring peacock.

lovely little cottage, ideal for a week away in the area, convenient for local shops, restaurants and cafe's.

The only drawback for facilities was there was no hooks for coats and anywhere to put boots on after walking, especially if it had been raining and muddy.

Lovely property, very close to town, pubs, food.

Loved that Swaffham is perfect for trips out in several different directions.

Absolutely gorgeous.

We loved it! So clean and cozy. The attention to detail and the lovely gestures made it really special. Christmas tree, decorations, bubbly, biscuits, tea, coffee and milk all on arrival. So thoughtful. Thank you so much Rosemary and Nikki.

Flint cottage is delightful, very well appointed and tastefully decorated.

Exactly as advertised. It was lovely to arrive to see that it was already beautifully decorated for Christmas and a very gratefully received welcome pack! Rosemary, the owner, was amenable and quick to respond to any queries. Flint cottage is highly recommended.

We had a great time at the cottage, ideally located for walking into Swaffham.

We travelled out to the coast and several auctions ( Diss and Watton auctions are excellent), in November the roads were devoid of traffic, what a bonus!! Would fully recommend staying at Flint Cottage, but if you struggle with steep narrow stairs this could be an issue.

Lovely cottage.

Well maintained. Appreciated being allowed in before 4pm, thanks. Was less happy about having to leave by 9.30 on a Sunday. Will definitely use again if we’re in the area.

All good nice cottage great location will go back again sometime

Well maintained presented and comfortable property.

Beautiful little cottage.

Comfortable and clean. Perfect for the two of us. We had a great week.

We had a good week, the cottage was lovely.

There were one or two things we thought needed clarifying. The listing said there was a BBQ available, when we enquired there wasn’t. The listing says check out by 10am, in the cottage it states check out by 9.30am. The listing said ok to take dogs, in the cottage it says for dogs not to go on the furniture or upstairs. Although we didn’t take our dog, we felt these stipulations should be made clear in the listing. The dining table top came off and wasn’t fixed to the frame, so slid about

Very well equipped cottage.

The bed was extremely comfortable. Only a few minutes walk to the town centre. There are a number of independent shops there, including a couple of butchers, fruit and vegetables, a pet shop. Also cafes, restaurants and pubs. The Saturday market is great. The road outside the property can get busy but it didn’t disturb our sleep. Enjoyed our stay and it’s dog friendly too.

Lovely welcome pack and as I was staying for 2 weeks the bedding and towels were exchanged for clean ones after week 1.

Nice clean cottage with all the modern facilities available to hand. Very good central location to explore the County of Norfolk.

Lovely cottage, with everything necessary for an enjoyable break.

The stairs were "interesting " and could prove a problem for those less able.

The cottage was in very good order and Swaffham was a lovely place to stop with plenty of place to eat and access to places to see in Norfolk was easy

Only small problems were the TV which kept cutting out, and the timer on the central heating that kept sticking.

These were brought to the attention of the owner at the time. They certainly did not mar our time spent at the cottage. A very quaint place ideally situated just a couple of hundred yards from the market place in Swaffham.

Lovely little cottage very close, yet quiet and private, to the town centre of Swaffham.

Nice places to eat nearby so a very relaxing, no cooking holiday. Would gladly revisit when the opportunity arises.

A perfect holiday in a perfect cottage.

One of the best yet that we have visited over the years. Extremely well equipped and the owner (Rosemary) popped in to see if we needed anything.Thoroughly recommended.:)

Bed uncomfortable Wi-Fi upstairs not working uncomfortable sofa ants all over kitchen in the last few days

This is a lovely place to stay, nice size for two and in a good location.

The cottage has steep stairs going to the upstairs which are a part of the character of the cottage but some may find them difficult to climb, I Would stay again A future suggestion from me would be to put electric car charging points in the carport area to cater for the people with electric cars.

Lovely cottage and Swaffham is a great little town with very friendly people, would recommend the Greyhound pub for a drink super friendly staff .

The cottage would just benefit for some comfy garden chairs or deckchairs and a better shower head as it was very small and therefore brutal . A lovely stay though in a great location.

We had a lovely weeks stay at Flint cottage.

It had everything that you could possibly need equipment wise. The location of the cottage was ideal for getting to various places. The information sent to us before we arrived was very useful.

We stayed for a few days in at the end of May.

This property was well equipped for a lovely stay exploring Norfolk. The location was perfect for exploring and there was some great pubs and cafes nearby. The property was clean comfortable and the location was quite even if it was next to a road. Thanks for a great stay we will return

Lovely property, close to the centre of the historic Market Town.

Locals very friendly. Pubs welcoming with good food. Lots of places to visit. Lots of dog friendly walks. We live in a quiet rural area, where after about 8pm, cars are rare. We were not bothered by the traffic noise from the road in front of the cottage. That road was fairly quiet after about 7pm. The stairs in the property are steep, so you do need to be quite agile.

Lovely property, very close to town.

Excellent comfort and decor.

Great location for Swaffham and visiting North Norfolk.

The cottage has everything you're need for a home from home experience. The courtesy call from the owner was a lovely touch. Plenty of walks in and surrounding for the dog to be let off the lead and a field across the road perfect for early or late pooch walks. Be careful on the stairs in the cottage as they are steep and narrow.

Our Christmas break at Flint Cottage was very relaxing the cottage was decorated with Christmas decorations and a lovely gift for us on arrival everything was as expected to be lovely quiet location shops and pubs within walking distance.

Many thanks for an extremely enjoyable stay - the cottage was very cosy and spotlessly clean.

The perfect start to Christmas!

We enjoyed our stay at cosy Flint Cottage and Rosemary was very welcoming and helpful.

Cosy cottage.

gardens lovely. Peacocks next door.lovely town with everything you could want . Steep stairs.would go again.owner very helpful.

Great location and base to explore North Norfolk and the coast.

Very cosy and well equipped cottage. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage and setting.

Stairs very steep so need to be agile. Garden was great to sit out in the sun. Places to eat very near. Everything you need in the cottage which was very clean. Would stay there again.

There were no instructions about the heating system.

We eventually found a mobile temperature controller. The oven door was dirty. A lack of oven trays. The shower screen kept opening while showering allowing the water to fall outside the bath onto the floor. The wifi signal was appalling because the router wasn't within the premises. 3mbps download! We resorted to phone signal which was 10 times faster. The cottage smelt of dog. There were room fragrance sticks around the cottage which gave us a headache so we put them in a cupboard until we left.

It is a lovely little cottage in a very nice village.

Unfortunately the weather was awful so we had to go home after two nights but I would love to stay there another time when the weather is better.

Very well appointed cottage, centrally located giving good access to all of Norfolk coastline.

Lucky to have had amazing weather, and made friends with the duck family in the garden.

Quaint cottage in small town easy access to coast and Cambridge, if willing to drive.

Kindly left us some milk and biscuits together with tea and coffee, lovely touch. Stairs very steep, not for small kids or anyone with mobility issues, but to be expected with the age of cottage, lovely gardens too and ample parking.

Warm and Cosy.

Will book again.

Had a wonderful stay in Flint Cottage.

It was extremely, clean, tidy and comfortable. It had all the amenities to have a home from home stay. The local town was a 5min walk with shops, restaurants and bars, so no need to drive to have a meal and drinks. The only thing I would point out is the stairs within the cottage were very steep and narrow, which was not a problem for myself or my partner, but may be for others. Would definately stay again.

Excellent location.

Plenty of things to do despite Covid restrictions. Very well equipped and owners on hand if needed but not intrusive.

The cottage is ideally situated for exploring this very interesting market town and the surrounding area which has a wealth of castles/priories and much much more.

Hello Our weekend at flint cottage was amazing so cosy and warm ,clean , very well equipped, and location was fantastic, a lovely town and very nice people, George hotel was very pleasant which I spent my birthday evening ,and they made us very welcome, definitely will return in the summer and take our dog with us, and also was nice not to worry about using car, and finding somewhere to park, fabulous weekend was had thankyou so much Mr & Mrs Jan and Gerry Ware from Harlow Essex

The cottage is lovely and ideal for exploring Norfolk and the surrounding area.

We have no hesitation in recommending Flint Cottage for anyone who wants to stay in this area - and would heartily recommend the Stratton Hotel for an evening meal (we went twice in a week)

We went at Christmas and the cottage was surprisingly dressed for Christmas, I don't think it said that in the description but it should!

- with an imitation tree lit up and festive goodies crackers, sweets, biscuits left for us and much appreciated. The stairs were steep and twist around, as it says in the description but there aren't many to climb. The cottage was warm and cosy. A well equipped kitchen apart from cloths to wipe the kitchen surfaces. Great to have the lawn and garden for the dog, which we always cleared up after. Would be even nicer and safer for children and animals, if the garden area and gravel paths in front of the cottages had been enclosed with a small picket fence and gate, from the double car port area. The noise from the road was heard but as we went Christmas it wasn't very busy, it was nice to hear the church bells. Swaffham has everything one needs really even a Waitrose! Very impressed with the North Norfolk coast and Sandringham Estate. we may return! Many thanks to the owners.

Lovely little cottage that was very well situated and equipped.

Steep stairs something to be aware of if slightly infirm.

This is a lovely cottage with a beautiful lawned garden at the rear.

It is relatively spacious and well-equipped and has a lot of character. It is within very easy walking distance of the town centre but is unfortunately on a reasonably busy road that means that the bedroom window opens out not onto the peaceful garden but onto this busy thoroughfare. However the road is quite quiet at night. The owner Rosemary popped around twice during our week to check we were OK, which was nice and also offered advice on places to visit. We had a wonderful time and would consider going back.

We really liked the cottage and the surrounding area would would love to return in the future

Lovely break in a good location and everything provided in the cottage for a comfortable stay.

Well heated, good lighting, comfortable mattress and sofa - essentials for a comfortable stay.

Located centrally yet minimal disturbance from traffic noise. Because of the age of the building (18th century) clients need to be aware of the very narrow, steep stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom.

Very clean well equipped and comfortable cottage in a nice setting and very well located for exploring Norfolk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Cottage was very clean, tidy and well presented.

Everything we needed, and more, was already there which was really helpful -even down to small details like milk and hand cream. It was in a good location close to amenities.

A great location for seeing Norfolk.

The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed.

The stairs are extremely steep.

A superbly appointed , comfortable and characterful cottage.

Brilliantly situated for exploring this delightful part of Norfolk. The advice and support from Rosemary was greatly appreciated and contributed to our very enjoyable stay

We thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, the main reason we wouldn't go back is difficulty in climbing very steep staircase.

One reccomendation, we found lack of pegs/space for hanging outdoor coats, especially if they are wet.
