Lighthouse View

A really lovely cottage for our last-minute short break in Norfolk.

Located on a quiet complex, which is what we prefer, the cottage was perfect for what we wanted. The bottle of wine, milk and eggs were a lovely treat - thank you. It was also good to have an apartment with a washing machine, as I like to wash as I go rather than take it all home. There was a washing line outside, which was perfect. We were not phased by the decor, which has been mentioned in previous reviews. A few observations. The mattresses were so uncomfortable. They looked quite old when we stripped the beds, none of us had a good nights' sleep. Also the carpet, yes the design is dated, but that wasn't the issue. It is clearly well worn and there is no underlay underneath which makes it quite uncomfortable to walk on. It would possibly benefit from a carpet shampoo at least. For some reason, the towels left in the twin room were tiny, not ideal for my 6ft teenage sons. We had large bath towels left in the double room. We had booked as 3 adults so this possibly should have been considered when setting up the room for us. There were lots of artificial smells from the scented air fresheners. As I'd rather not breathe in these chemicals, we unplugged them. I did then notice a slight musty smell, however, we always had the windows and doors open so this soon cleared. Also, please invest in some decent pegs! There were around 10 in the basket when we arrived. 4 broke straight away. We purchased another packet from the Premier in the village but they were the same cheap and nasty pegs already there. I'm sure everyone must use the washing line even if just to hang out the towels. My eldest queried why we didn't have a picnic bench outside like everyone else. It would have been a nice addition. Overall, we would recommend, with caveats, and, if we did return, we would probably bring a couple of bean bags as there wasn't much seating space in the living area for 4 fully grown humans.

Great location for a short break exploring the Norfolk Coast

A lovely little bungalow which suited our needs.

Could of done with a little updating in places (not tatty just old fashioned), which may bother some but didnt matter to us. Only problem we had was with the signal to the TV, which we struggled to get at times when relaxing on an evening, and maybe a hook on the back of a door to hang a coat would be useful. A lovely location with pub on site a minutes walk away, very pretty little village with pub, chip shop and shop 5 minutes walk away, and 5-10 minute walk to beautiful sandy beach which wasn't busy and had car park with 2 places for food and drink by it. Can walk along beach or through dunes to next village (maybe 30- 40 mins) which has lots of amusement arcades, rides, and places to eat and drink. If returning to the area we would be more than happy to stay here again.

Clean, modern inside and well-furnished.

No wi-fi and limited TV channels to be expected. Lovely quiet, uncommercialised 'resort' and area - if the sun shines!
