Description

Feltwell 3.6 miles.

Located on the quiet main rain road that runs through the village of Methwold near Feltwell, is this semi-detached property, adjoined to the owner's home.

Lillies Pad offers spacious and family-friendly accommodation to a group of four looking to explore rural Norfolk and is in excellent proximity to the Thetford Forest Park.

The spacious gravel driveway offers off-road parking for up to three cars, and you can enter the property via the path that leads up the pretty front lawn.

Heading inside, you will be met with a sitting room with a cosy woodburning stove to warm up the space in the evenings, with an L-shaped corner sofa to relax on whilst enjoying flicking through the channels on the TV.

The kitchen/diner has seating for four and a wooden cabinet filled with charming ornaments, and is ideal for enjoying a home-cooked meal together, prepared in the generously-sized kitchen, with sleek wooden cabinets and all the appliance and amenities you could need during your stay, with a dishwasher on hand to take care of washing up duties.

From here, there is a convenient cloakroom and a lovely sun room with ample seating, where you can enjoy a quiet moment or two.

Heading upstairs, you will find a charming area at the top of the staircase with a comfortable looking arm chair and a bookcase filled with books, the ideal spot to enjoy getting lost in a great read.

The two bedrooms consist of a king-size and twin, both with sleigh beds and both very generous in size, with lots of storage and a unique style, with quirky alcoves containing furniture.

The bathroom completes the layout, with a large corner bath with hand held shower, so you have the option of how you want to prepare for each day.

To the rear of the property, there is an enclosed gravel garden with furniture, ideal for the little ones or for your pet to run around safely, while you get comfortable and enjoy an alfresco lunch in the sunshine.

Just a short walk from the property is a pub and a fish and chip shop, with the closest pub serving food about a mile away, while the village of Feltwell is just over three miles away, home to an RAF base, several convenience shops, supermarkets, a takeaway, café and a golf course.

This area of Norfolk is known as 'The Brecks’ due to its unique landscape of Scots Pine forests, heathlands, wetlands, chalk streams, meres and pingo ponds.

The Brecks is an outstanding area for wildlife conservation and boasts several nature reserves, including Weeting Heath National Nature Reserve, a huge biological Site of Special Scientific Interest where you can get a glimpse of birdlife like the rare Stone Curlew, as well as RSPB Lakenheath Fen, where you can delight in an afternoon of birdwatching, and those with a passion for fishing can take advantage of several rivers and commercial lakes which lie close by.

Explore Thetford Forest Park, the largest lowland pine forest in the UK, and its range of trails and paths on foot, bicycle or horseback, visit the English Heritage-owned Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves and just a few miles away on the Suffolk border, aviation enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice, with American jets taking off from both RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall.

The market town of Watton is slightly further afield, home to an annual Wayland Agricultural Show, one of the oldest agricultural shows in England, as well as the Nature Conservation Review site of Wayland Wood, managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, and the pretty freshwater lake of Loch Leaton.

There is a train station in Brandon, approximately seven miles away, providing you with an easy link to the wider Norfolk and Suffolk areas, including Downham Market, Norwich, Cambridge, Newmarket and Bury St Edmonds, while the Norfolk Broads, North Norfolk and the east Norfolk coast are all easily accessible from the property.

Liilies pad is an ideal base for exploring this area of Norfolk, with endless opportunities available from your doorstep.

Lovely comfortable house, everything provided, and great location.

Useful welcome pack, much appreciated. We used the train to get to Ely and Norwich, both interesting places to visit. Brandon Country Park has some fabulous forest and heath walks. Thank you for having us!

Well appointed cottage, spacious yet homely.

Good location for exploring Norfolk & Suffolk. The welcome pack was very much appreciated, especially the eggs from the owners own hens.
