The Lodge

This was the second time my son and i have stayed at the lodge and we were more than happy with our accomadation.

Don and lovely Willow are perfect hosts. Everything you needed was in the lodge and nothing was too much trouble for Don if you did need anything. I will not hesitate to recommend the lodge to all my friends and family.

The Lodge is lovely, in a lovely setting BUT it does NOT have an electric vehicle charging point!

The owner, Mr Edwards, is a lovely, helpful man but is not into electrical things. What he thought was a charging point was an ordinary 13A 3 pin socket. Fortunately I have a slow charger with a 13A plug but of course that takes much longer to charge. Because my friend also has an electric car we ended up using one car with the one on charge all the while.

Once again, Don and Willow were perfect hosts, we really loved our daily visits from Willow.

The Lodge has everything we needed for a pleasant holiday, quiet and peaceful, and it was nice to watch the many different birds and other wildlife in the beautiful garden. Can definitely recommend the Lodge for a relaxing holiday.

The Lodge is an amazing holiday Lodge, everything you need, peace and quiet, Don the owner is very helpful and a wonderful person and Willow his four legged companion is great too, was wonderful to sit in the spacious garden of an evening with a glass of wine and listen to the birds.

The location of the property was remote but in an idyllic setting.

Sadly away from amenities(petrol station,shop,supermarket etc).In addition the place generally had been somewhat neglected and did not match up to the picture shown on the website.The property needed a facelift decor wise plus at the back of the property were deep holes around the slabs which could have housed unwelcome pests.Furthermore the patio was full of weeds with furniture that you couldn't sit on as it was filthy.Internally the shower was in need of repair or even replacement as the door didn't fit properly and the so called back jets didn't work.There was a lack of crockery in the kitchen(certainly not enough for 4 people) and reading recent feedback the grill apparently didn't work either.Finally We think it should be mentioned that the owner who lives on site has a dog who is used to entering the property and being 'spoilt' by visitors and expecting to be played with.On one occasion the dog ran off with my shoe..We personally had then to keep the door shut even though it was extremely hot at the time.All in all a very private secluded place to stay and lovely views with a well meaning owner nearby but with several issues desperately needing to be addressed.

We spent two weeks at this lovely comfortable cottage in rural Norfolk.

Wonderful quiet location surrounded by paddocks with horses. Lots of birds and wildlife in the large yard surrounding the cottage and main residence. Great onsite landlord. 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to nearest village with a good pub serving quality meals. 10 minute drive to nearest town with two major supermarkets. Central Norfolk location making most signifiant places to visit less than 1 hour drive away. The cottage was comfortable and equiped with everything we needed - 2 bedrooms and all on one floor with easy local walks so ideal for a relaxed stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lodge.

Don and Willow are an extra-special team and both made us welcome and ensured we had everything we needed during our stay. The Lodge is situated in Don's large garden and we loved watching the numerous birds on the feeders outside the lounge window. We enjoyed the peace and quiet but most of all we looked forward to Willow's visits each morning. We would love to return and could definitely recommend The Lodge to others. Graham and Margaret

As before a warm welcome to a lovely, quiet holiday property. Everything we needed was there and the owner was most helpful and friendly (as was his dog Willow).

The Lodge is situated in a lovely peaceful part of the world.

. Very comfortable accommodation with everything we could need. The greatest joy, however, was the opportunity to meet the owner, Don, and his beautiful dog, Willow. Don is such a kind friendly host, and Willow's daily visits were something we looked forward to. We will never forget either of them.

The property was in an ideal location very peaceful the cottage was well equipped and comfortable and the owner Don greeted us with a warm welcome as did Willow his dog would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful weeks stay, Don and Willow were so lovely and friendly.

Beautiful grounds so quiet. Everything we needed was in the lodge. So comfortable it felt like home from home without all the noise. Willow is a great dog. I think Don is amazing.

We have just spent a week in this lovely lodge which is well equipped with everything you need.

A beautiful place which is very peaceful, lots of walks around and visits in the garden every morning by the muntjac and other creatures. We also had visits every morning at breakfast, from Willow (Don's dog) who brought us presents - usually one of Don's shoes!! We also saw the tawny owl on an evening on our walks with Willow, who liked to come with us. Don is an incredible man with a fantastic sense of humour. We received a very warm welcome from Don and Willow on the afternoon we arrived which made us feel at home. We enjoyed Don's company and often spent some time with him in an evening. He was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Well situated for access to Norfolk.

The lodge has everything needed for a good holiday. Lovely walks from the lodge with no traffic and surrounded by wildlife. This is the place for a lovely quiet holiday. Have stayed three times and will be back again next year.

This was our 5 time that we have visited this lovely property, you could not ask for more for a peaceful break.

From Dom the owner and Willow his faithful 4 legged friend, waking up in the morning with the birds singing. This is one of our best stay for a peaceful break as me and my wife have a very busy work life. We will return again next year.

We spent 2 weeks at the Lodge and it was the most relaxing time we've had for a long time.

Don the owner went out of his way to help when I'd had to ring to say we were lost, he just told us to put hazard lights on and he would find us. Ten minutes later he arrived like a Knight in shining armour. He is such a gentleman and it shows in the care he gives about his property, a perfect place to stay and you don't feel crowded by the owner as in other places we've been. Clean tidy well equipped all goes without saying just a lovely place to be.

Our second time to The Lodge, everything was as good as we remembered from last year.

We were greeted on arrival by Don and Willow and were made to feel very welcome. The Lodge is in a wonderful, peaceful location and a great base for visiting both Norfolk and Suffolk.

Loved it If you want peace and quiet - this is the place.

The Lodge was very comfortable and homely .

It is set in a quiet location and is very peaceful . The setting is ideal for a quiet break . The wildlife is abundant . The Lodge is one of the best holidays I have had . You are met by the owner who’s name is Don and his dog Willow . Don is a friendly man and always has time to chat about the day . Willow came to see us every day and is a friendly Labrador . I cannot wait to go there again . Don you are a star and a great host .

Advertised shower as having jets but it doesn't

My son and i had a week at the lodge and couldnt have had a better host in Don and his lovely dog Willow.

He had thought of everything and it was warm and cosy.as i am a housekeeper i found a few things that could be improved on by the cleaner but all in all lovely stay.

We had a fantastic time at The Lodge.

It is set at a most beautiful country side, with lovely walks. The host, Don was very helpful and attentive. We fell in love with his dog, Willow, although one of us doesn't even like dogs. We can definitely recommend The Lodge and we are looking forward to visiting again.

We had a wonderful holiday and certainly Don and Willow were the highlight.

Very comfortable.

Idyllic setting for peace and quiet but easy access to places of interest. Owners dog is very friendly and helped make the stay more enjoyable as she visits regularly and accompanies you on walks. Electric car charging available at 3kw so need to bring granny cable. Local pubs in Old and New Buckingham serve excellent food. Great area for walking, cycling, sight seeing or just enjoying the very large garden.

We keep coming back for peace and quiet in beautiful countryside.

Second visit to this cottage and we were, again, not disappointed.

Beautiful peaceful surroundings and well looked after by our host Don and not forgetting his dog, Willow, who gave us a warm and enthusiastic welcome back. We are already considering a third, potentially longer, visit next year.

Lovely comfortable lodge in a beautiful peaceful setting.

We we're greeted by Don and his 4 legged companion Willow on arrival and were made to feel really welcome by both. We are planning on returning next year and would highly recommend The Lodge for anyone wanting a peaceful escape.

We had an amazing time at the lodge and don’ was a first class host and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

A lovely place to stay, the host was excellent, very friendly but not overbearing.

The accommodation was very comfortable and very well equipped. The jets on the shower and the grill on the cooker did not work.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month at the Lodge and would happily have remained there.

I was most impressed with the cleanliness and how well equipped it is! Don is a very caring host and nothing too much trouble. His dog Willow is a lovely addition with her sweet and gentle nature...and her love of biscuits. The setting is a bucolic dream with long views, birds visiting the bird table, sheep and horses in the neighbouring fields. Even in January it was a tonic to be there. Thankyou Don and Willow. What a unique experience.

From the welcome, to the cosyness; the peacefulness and the comfort of the beds which made us reluctant to get up each morning! We can only add to what others have said. Don is a gentleman and Willow is an utter star and we'd love to return. Thank you to them both for letting us share their little piece of heaven.

In all the time we have been taking cottage holidays we have never met a more congenial host.

We look forward to our next break in May.

This is a lovely cottage in a very peaceful spot which made our holiday very special, and we really appreciated the warm and friendly welcome we received from the owner and his dog.

The cottage had all we needed in terms of equipment and was clean and very comfortable.

Holiday property was very spacious and clean loved the outlook.

Very quiet area we loved watching the hares and deer every day. Don and willow were the perfect hosts they made us feel very comfortable and at home we couldn’t have asked for more. I am going to miss our morning visit from Willow she’s the most adorable dog.

It is in the most wonderfully secluded surroundings so the only sounds were from the birds and wildlife which were right there in front of our windows in the morning and throughout the day. The property was very clean and dry and well equipped. The owner was brilliant and really helped to make this a most memorable holiday.

his dog willow was a delight visting us. the property is tne best we have ever rented. and we have have stayed at lot,s of places. some where a nightmare but this place is one we would love to go back to.

The Lodge was the best place we have ever stayed in we was welcome by Don the owner and his dog Willow who is now my new best friend.

Everything was clean and comfortable home from home. The Lodge is in the most beautiful surroundings so quiet and peaceful. The only thing l might add would be they could do with a lamp in the lounge because if you are an avid reader the lighting isn't very bright. Car is essential for getting about. Will certainly be going back.

Don (owner) has really made the lodge a lovely place to stay, he is very welcoming and kind.

The lodge has everything you need and it’s own parking space. Don has a wonderful canine companion Willow, beautiful character, friendly and will always welcome you back. Felt like being at home. WiFi signal isn’t great but you are in the countryside so we expected it. You certainly need to have a car to get about. The lodge is close enough to travel to Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, lots of brilliant places to visit nearby like Banham Zoo and Bressingham. We had a fantastic weeks stay and hope to go back.

Our host Don and his lovely dog Willow made us very welcome, it was nice to have a dog around again, having lost our 3 years ago.

We could have stayed longer and will go back again.

A really beautiful setting for a peaceful holiday.

The Lodge was comfortable and spacious and the welcome warm. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and loved the bird and animal life. A great place for easy walking as well. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add to the kitchen utensils . Cooking a meal was a challenge with only one decent sized saucepan and there were no tall glasses to serve long cold drinks. Only quibbles but these additions would turn what is a great place to stay into a next to perfect place.

Wild life was great and I felt I was in heaven

The lodge was very clean and comfortable, it was close to owners house but not a problem, lovely setting very quiet and peaceful.

Perfect holiday in an idyllic rural location; quiet, peaceful atmosphere, spacious accommodation, very welcoming host ( a character,in the best sense of the word), and with all that Norfolk has to offer within reach.

This was our second visit (hopefully not our last) to this tranquil treasure of Norfolk.

Words can not describe the amazing scenery in which the lodge sit's, to see munjac deer green woodpeckers hares and partridge in the surrounding grounds to name but a few !! The freedom given by the owner to enjoy his garden along side his knowledge and wisdom of the surrounding area made our holiday complete. The lodge has everything you need for a very comforable stay. Would go back in a heartbeat if we could. We arrived as friends but we felt like family as we drove away.Thank you Don for making this a wonderful holiday .

The area around the Lodge was wonderful it is all woodland the wild life is great birds of all kind and the odd dear or two in the woods .We had a bad week weather rain most of the time but plenty to do around it did not keep us in. we will go back again Maurice & Janet Way.

Just returned from our FOURTH holiday at The Lodge.

A warm welcome from Don and later in the week we enjoyed a musical evening in his conservatory. This year we spent much more time at The Lodge relaxing in the calm and attractive surroundings. We hope to return for another holiday.
